John 11
1 Now a certain [man] was sick, [named] Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
അനന്തരം മരിയമ് തസ്യാ ഭഗിനീ മർഥാ ച യസ്മിൻ വൈഥനീയാഗ്രാമേ വസതസ്തസ്മിൻ ഗ്രാമേ ഇലിയാസർ നാമാ പീഡിത ഏക ആസീത്|
2 (It was [that] Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
യാ മരിയമ് പ്രഭും സുഗന്ധിതേലൈന മർദ്ദയിത്വാ സ്വകേശൈസ്തസ്യ ചരണൗ സമമാർജത് തസ്യാ ഭ്രാതാ സ ഇലിയാസർ രോഗീ|
3 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
അപരഞ്ച ഹേ പ്രഭോ ഭവാൻ യസ്മിൻ പ്രീയതേ സ ഏവ പീഡിതോസ്തീതി കഥാം കഥയിത്വാ തസ്യ ഭഗിന്യൗ പ്രേഷിതവത്യൗ|
4 When Jesus heard [that], he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
തദാ യീശുരിമാം വാർത്താം ശ്രുത്വാകഥയത പീഡേയം മരണാർഥം ന കിന്ത്വീശ്വരസ്യ മഹിമാർഥമ് ഈശ്വരപുത്രസ്യ മഹിമപ്രകാശാർഥഞ്ച ജാതാ|
5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
യീശു ര്യദ്യപിമർഥായാം തദ്ഭഗിന്യാമ് ഇലിയാസരി ചാപ്രീയത,
6 When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.
തഥാപി ഇലിയാസരഃ പീഡായാഃ കഥം ശ്രുത്വാ യത്ര ആസീത് തത്രൈവ ദിനദ്വയമതിഷ്ഠത്|
7 Then after that saith he to [his] disciples, Let us go into Judæa again.
തതഃ പരമ് സ ശിഷ്യാനകഥയദ് വയം പുന ര്യിഹൂദീയപ്രദേശം യാമഃ|
8 [His] disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
തതസ്തേ പ്രത്യവദൻ, ഹേ ഗുരോ സ്വൽപദിനാനി ഗതാനി യിഹൂദീയാസ്ത്വാം പാഷാണൈ ർഹന്തുമ് ഉദ്യതാസ്തഥാപി കിം പുനസ്തത്ര യാസ്യസി?
9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
യീശുഃ പ്രത്യവദത്, ഏകസ്മിൻ ദിനേ കിം ദ്വാദശഘടികാ ന ഭവന്തി? കോപി ദിവാ ഗച്ഛൻ ന സ്ഖലതി യതഃ സ ഏതജ്ജഗതോ ദീപ്തിം പ്രാപ്നോതി|
10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.
കിന്തു രാത്രൗ ഗച്ഛൻ സ്ഖലതി യതോ ഹേതോസ്തത്ര ദീപ്തി ർനാസ്തി|
11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
ഇമാം കഥാം കഥയിത്വാ സ താനവദദ്, അസ്മാകം ബന്ധുഃ ഇലിയാസർ നിദ്രിതോഭൂദ് ഇദാനീം തം നിദ്രാതോ ജാഗരയിതും ഗച്ഛാമി|
12 Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
യീശു ർമൃതൗ കഥാമിമാം കഥിതവാൻ കിന്തു വിശ്രാമാർഥം നിദ്രായാം കഥിതവാൻ ഇതി ജ്ഞാത്വാ ശിഷ്യാ അകഥയൻ,
13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
ഹേ ഗുരോ സ യദി നിദ്രാതി തർഹി ഭദ്രമേവ|
14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
തദാ യീശുഃ സ്പഷ്ടം താൻ വ്യാഹരത്, ഇലിയാസർ അമ്രിയത;
15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.
കിന്തു യൂയം യഥാ പ്രതീഥ തദർഥമഹം തത്ര ന സ്ഥിതവാൻ ഇത്യസ്മാദ് യുഷ്മന്നിമിത്തമ് ആഹ്ലാദിതോഹം, തഥാപി തസ്യ സമീപേ യാമ|
16 Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.
തദാ ഥോമാ യം ദിദുമം വദന്തി സ സങ്ഗിനഃ ശിഷ്യാൻ അവദദ് വയമപി ഗത്വാ തേന സാർദ്ധം മ്രിയാമഹൈ|
17 Then when Jesus came, he found that he had [lain] in the grave four days already.
യീശുസ്തത്രോപസ്ഥായ ഇലിയാസരഃ ശ്മശാനേ സ്ഥാപനാത് ചത്വാരി ദിനാനി ഗതാനീതി വാർത്താം ശ്രുതവാൻ|
18 Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:
വൈഥനീയാ യിരൂശാലമഃ സമീപസ്ഥാ ക്രോശൈകമാത്രാന്തരിതാ;
19 And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.
തസ്മാദ് ബഹവോ യിഹൂദീയാ മർഥാം മരിയമഞ്ച ഭ്യാതൃശോകാപന്നാം സാന്ത്വയിതും തയോഃ സമീപമ് ആഗച്ഛൻ|
20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat [still] in the house.
മർഥാ യീശോരാഗമനവാർതാം ശ്രുത്വൈവ തം സാക്ഷാദ് അകരോത് കിന്തു മരിയമ് ഗേഹ ഉപവിശ്യ സ്ഥിതാ|
21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
തദാ മർഥാ യീശുമവാദത്, ഹേ പ്രഭോ യദി ഭവാൻ അത്രാസ്ഥാസ്യത് തർഹി മമ ഭ്രാതാ നാമരിഷ്യത്|
22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give [it] thee.
കിന്ത്വിദാനീമപി യദ് ഈശ്വരേ പ്രാർഥയിഷ്യതേ ഈശ്വരസ്തദ് ദാസ്യതീതി ജാനേഽഹം|
23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
യീശുരവാദീത് തവ ഭ്രാതാ സമുത്ഥാസ്യതി|
24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
മർഥാ വ്യാഹരത് ശേഷദിവസേ സ ഉത്ഥാനസമയേ പ്രോത്ഥാസ്യതീതി ജാനേഽഹം|
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
തദാ യീശുഃ കഥിതവാൻ അഹമേവ ഉത്ഥാപയിതാ ജീവയിതാ ച യഃ കശ്ചന മയി വിശ്വസിതി സ മൃത്വാപി ജീവിഷ്യതി;
യഃ കശ്ചന ച ജീവൻ മയി വിശ്വസിതി സ കദാപി ന മരിഷ്യതി, അസ്യാം കഥായാം കിം വിശ്വസിഷി? (aiōn g165)
27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
സാവദത് പ്രഭോ യസ്യാവതരണാപേക്ഷാസ്തി ഭവാൻ സഏവാഭിഷിക്ത്ത ഈശ്വരപുത്ര ഇതി വിശ്വസിമി|
28 And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.
ഇതി കഥാം കഥയിത്വാ സാ ഗത്വാ സ്വാം ഭഗിനീം മരിയമം ഗുപ്തമാഹൂയ വ്യാഹരത് ഗുരുരുപതിഷ്ഠതി ത്വാമാഹൂയതി ച|
29 As soon as she heard [that], she arose quickly, and came unto him.
കഥാമിമാം ശ്രുത്വാ സാ തൂർണമ് ഉത്ഥായ തസ്യ സമീപമ് അഗച്ഛത്|
30 Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.
യീശു ർഗ്രാമമധ്യം ന പ്രവിശ്യ യത്ര മർഥാ തം സാക്ഷാദ് അകരോത് തത്ര സ്ഥിതവാൻ|
31 The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there.
യേ യിഹൂദീയാ മരിയമാ സാകം ഗൃഹേ തിഷ്ഠന്തസ്താമ് അസാന്ത്വയന തേ താം ക്ഷിപ്രമ് ഉത്ഥായ ഗച്ഛന്തിം വിലോക്യ വ്യാഹരൻ, സ ശ്മശാനേ രോദിതും യാതി, ഇത്യുക്ത്വാ തേ തസ്യാഃ പശ്ചാദ് അഗച്ഛൻ|
32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
യത്ര യീശുരതിഷ്ഠത് തത്ര മരിയമ് ഉപസ്ഥായ തം ദൃഷ്ട്വാ തസ്യ ചരണയോഃ പതിത്വാ വ്യാഹരത് ഹേ പ്രഭോ യദി ഭവാൻ അത്രാസ്ഥാസ്യത് തർഹി മമ ഭ്രാതാ നാമരിഷ്യത്|
33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,
യീശുസ്താം തസ്യാഃ സങ്ഗിനോ യിഹൂദീയാംശ്ച രുദതോ വിലോക്യ ശോകാർത്തഃ സൻ ദീർഘം നിശ്വസ്യ കഥിതവാൻ തം കുത്രാസ്ഥാപയത?
34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.
തേ വ്യാഹരൻ, ഹേ പ്രഭോ ഭവാൻ ആഗത്യ പശ്യതു|
35 Jesus wept.
യീശുനാ ക്രന്ദിതം|
36 Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
അതഏവ യിഹൂദീയാ അവദൻ, പശ്യതായം തസ്മിൻ കിദൃഗ് അപ്രിയത|
37 And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?
തേഷാം കേചിദ് അവദൻ യോന്ധായ ചക്ഷുഷീ ദത്തവാൻ സ കിമ് അസ്യ മൃത്യും നിവാരയിതും നാശക്നോത്?
38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
തതോ യീശുഃ പുനരന്തർദീർഘം നിശ്വസ്യ ശ്മശാനാന്തികമ് അഗച്ഛത്| തത് ശ്മശാനമ് ഏകം ഗഹ്വരം തന്മുഖേ പാഷാണ ഏക ആസീത്|
39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been [dead] four days.
തദാ യീശുരവദദ് ഏനം പാഷാണമ് അപസാരയത, തതഃ പ്രമീതസ്യ ഭഗിനീ മർഥാവദത് പ്രഭോ, അധുനാ തത്ര ദുർഗന്ധോ ജാതഃ, യതോദ്യ ചത്വാരി ദിനാനി ശ്മശാനേ സ തിഷ്ഠതി|
40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
തദാ യീശുരവാദീത്, യദി വിശ്വസിഷി തർഹീശ്വരസ്യ മഹിമപ്രകാശം ദ്രക്ഷ്യസി കഥാമിമാം കിം തുഭ്യം നാകഥയം?
41 Then they took away the stone [from the place] where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up [his] eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
തദാ മൃതസ്യ ശ്മശാനാത് പാഷാണോഽപസാരിതേ യീശുരൂർദ്വ്വം പശ്യൻ അകഥയത്, ഹേ പിത ർമമ നേവേസനമ് അശൃണോഃ കാരണാദസ്മാത് ത്വാം ധന്യം വദാമി|
42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said [it], that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
ത്വം സതതം ശൃണോഷി തദപ്യഹം ജാനാമി, കിന്തു ത്വം മാം യത് പ്രൈരയസ്തദ് യഥാസ്മിൻ സ്ഥാനേ സ്ഥിതാ ലോകാ വിശ്വസന്തി തദർഥമ് ഇദം വാക്യം വദാമി|
43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
ഇമാം കഥാം കഥയിത്വാ സ പ്രോച്ചൈരാഹ്വയത്, ഹേ ഇലിയാസർ ബഹിരാഗച്ഛ|
44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
തതഃ സ പ്രമീതഃ ശ്മശാനവസ്ത്രൈ ർബദ്ധഹസ്തപാദോ ഗാത്രമാർജനവാസസാ ബദ്ധമുഖശ്ച ബഹിരാഗച്ഛത്| യീശുരുദിതവാൻ ബന്ധനാനി മോചയിത്വാ ത്യജതൈനം|
45 Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.
മരിയമഃ സമീപമ് ആഗതാ യേ യിഹൂദീയലോകാസ്തദാ യീശോരേതത് കർമ്മാപശ്യൻ തേഷാം ബഹവോ വ്യശ്വസൻ,
46 But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.
കിന്തു കേചിദന്യേ ഫിരൂശിനാം സമീപം ഗത്വാ യീശോരേതസ്യ കർമ്മണോ വാർത്താമ് അവദൻ|
47 Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.
തതഃ പരം പ്രധാനയാജകാഃ ഫിരൂശിനാശ്ച സഭാം കൃത്വാ വ്യാഹരൻ വയം കിം കുർമ്മഃ? ഏഷ മാനവോ ബഹൂന്യാശ്ചര്യ്യകർമ്മാണി കരോതി|
48 If we let him thus alone, all [men] will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.
യദീദൃശം കർമ്മ കർത്തും ന വാരയാമസ്തർഹി സർവ്വേ ലോകാസ്തസ്മിൻ വിശ്വസിഷ്യന്തി രോമിലോകാശ്ചാഗത്യാസ്മാകമ് അനയാ രാജധാന്യാ സാർദ്ധം രാജ്യമ് ആഛേത്സ്യന്തി|
49 And one of them, [named] Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
തദാ തേഷാം കിയഫാനാമാ യസ്തസ്മിൻ വത്സരേ മഹായാജകപദേ ന്യയുജ്യത സ പ്രത്യവദദ് യൂയം കിമപി ന ജാനീഥ;
50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
സമഗ്രദേശസ്യ വിനാശതോപി സർവ്വലോകാർഥമ് ഏകസ്യ ജനസ്യ മരണമ് അസ്മാകം മങ്ഗലഹേതുകമ് ഏതസ്യ വിവേചനാമപി ന കുരുഥ|
51 And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;
ഏതാം കഥാം സ നിജബുദ്ധ്യാ വ്യാഹരദ് ഇതി ന,
52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.
കിന്തു യീശൂസ്തദ്ദേശീയാനാം കാരണാത് പ്രാണാൻ ത്യക്ഷ്യതി, ദിശി ദിശി വികീർണാൻ ഈശ്വരസ്യ സന്താനാൻ സംഗൃഹ്യൈകജാതിം കരിഷ്യതി ച, തസ്മിൻ വത്സരേ കിയഫാ മഹായാജകത്വപദേ നിയുക്തഃ സൻ ഇദം ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാക്യം കഥിതവാൻ|
53 Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.
തദ്ദിനമാരഭ്യ തേ കഥം തം ഹന്തും ശക്നുവന്തീതി മന്ത്രണാം കർത്തും പ്രാരേഭിരേ|
54 Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.
അതഏവ യിഹൂദീയാനാം മധ്യേ യീശുഃ സപ്രകാശം ഗമനാഗമനേ അകൃത്വാ തസ്മാദ് ഗത്വാ പ്രാന്തരസ്യ സമീപസ്ഥായിപ്രദേശസ്യേഫ്രായിമ് നാമ്നി നഗരേ ശിഷ്യൈഃ സാകം കാലം യാപയിതും പ്രാരേഭേ|
55 And the Jews’ passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves.
അനന്തരം യിഹൂദീയാനാം നിസ്താരോത്സവേ നികടവർത്തിനി സതി തദുത്സവാത് പൂർവ്വം സ്വാൻ ശുചീൻ കർത്തും ബഹവോ ജനാ ഗ്രാമേഭ്യോ യിരൂശാലമ് നഗരമ് ആഗച്ഛൻ,
56 Then sought they for Jesus, and spake among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think ye, that he will not come to the feast?
യീശോരന്വേഷണം കൃത്വാ മന്ദിരേ ദണ്ഡായമാനാഃ സന്തഃ പരസ്പരം വ്യാഹരൻ, യുഷ്മാകം കീദൃശോ ബോധോ ജായതേ? സ കിമ് ഉത്സവേഽസ്മിൻ അത്രാഗമിഷ്യതി?
57 Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew [it], that they might take him.
സ ച കുത്രാസ്തി യദ്യേതത് കശ്ചിദ് വേത്തി തർഹി ദർശയതു പ്രധാനയാജകാഃ ഫിരൂശിനശ്ച തം ധർത്തും പൂർവ്വമ് ഇമാമ് ആജ്ഞാം പ്രാചാരയൻ|
