Isaiah 14
1 For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
Porque o Senhor se compadecerá de Jacob, e ainda escolherá a Israel e os porá na sua propria terra: e ajuntar-se-hão com elles os estranhos, e se achegarão á casa de Jacob
2 And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
E os povos os receberão, e os levarão aos seus logares, e a casa d'Israel os possuirá por servos e por servas, na terra do Senhor: e captivarão aquelles que os captivaram, e dominarão sobre os seus oppressores.
3 And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,
E acontecerá que no dia em que Deus vier a dar-te descanço do teu trabalho, e do teu tremor, e da dura servidão com que te fizeram servir,
4 That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!
Então levantarás este dito contra o rei de Babylonia, e dirás: Como já cessou o oppressor? como já cessou a cidade dourada?
5 The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, [and] the sceptre of the rulers.
Já quebrantou o Senhor o bastão dos impios e o sceptro dos dominadores.
6 He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, [and] none hindereth.
Aquelle que feria aos povos com furor, com praga sem cessar, o que com ira dominava sobre as nações agora é perseguido, sem que alguem o possa impedir.
7 The whole earth is at rest, [and] is quiet: they break forth into singing.
Já descança, já está socegada toda a terra: exclamam com jubilo.
8 Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, [and] the cedars of Lebanon, [saying], Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.
Até as faias se alegram sobre ti, e os cedros do Libano, dizendo: Desde que tu ahi estás por terra já ninguem sobe contra nós que nos possa cortar.
9 Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet [thee] at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, [even] all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. (Sheol h7585)
O inferno debaixo se turbou por ti, para te sair ao encontro na tua vinda: desperta por ti os mortos, e todos os principes da terra, e faz levantar dos seus thronos a todos os reis das nações. (Sheol h7585)
10 All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?
Estes todos responderão, e te dirão: Tu tambem adoeceste como nós, e foste similhante a nós.
11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, [and] the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee. (Sheol h7585)
Já foi derribada no inferno a tua soberba com o som dos teus alaudes: os bichinhos debaixo de ti se estenderão, e os bichos te cobrirão. (Sheol h7585)
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Como caiste desde o céu, ó estrella da manhã, filha da alva do dia? como foste cortado por terra, tu que debilitavas as nações?
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
E tu dizias no teu coração: Eu subirei ao céu, por cima das estrellas de Deus exaltarei o meu throno, e no monte da congregação me assentarei, da banda dos lados do norte.
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Subirei sobre as alturas das nuvens, e serei similhante ao Altissimo.
E comtudo derribado serás no inferno, aos lados da cova. (Sheol h7585)
16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, [and] consider thee, [saying, Is] this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
Os que te virem te contemplarão, considerar-te-hão, e dirão: É este o varão que fazia estremecer a terra, e que fazia tremer os reinos?
17 [That] made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; [that] opened not the house of his prisoners?
Que punha o mundo como o deserto, e assolava as suas cidades? que a seus presos não deixava ir soltos para suas casas?
18 All the kings of the nations, [even] all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.
Todos os reis das nações, todos quantos elles são, jazem com honra, cada um na sua casa.
19 But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, [and as] the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.
Porém tu és lançado da tua sepultura, como um renovo abominavel, como um vestido de mortos atravessados á espada, como os que descem ao covil de pedras, como corpo morto e atropellado.
20 Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, [and] slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.
Com elles não serás ajuntado na sepultura; porque destruiste a tua terra e mataste o teu povo: a semente dos malignos não será nomeada para sempre.
21 Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.
Preparae a matança para os seus filhos pela maldade de seus paes, para que não se levantem, e possuam a terra, e encham o mundo de cidades.
22 For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.
Porque me levantarei contra elles, diz o Senhor dos Exercitos, e desarraigarei de Babylonia o nome, e os residuos, e o filho, e o neto, diz o Senhor.
23 I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.
E pôl-a-hei por possessão das corujas e lagôas d'aguas: e varrel-a-hei com vassoura de perdição, diz o Senhor dos Exercitos.
24 The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, [so] shall it stand:
O Senhor dos Exercitos jurou, dizendo: Como pensei, assim succederá, e como determinei, assim se effectuará.
25 That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.
Quebrantarei a Assyria na minha terra, e nas minhas montanhas a atropellarei, para que o seu jugo se aparte d'elles e a sua carga se desvie dos seus hombros.
26 This [is] the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this [is] the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.
Este é o conselho que se consultou sobre toda esta terra; e esta é a mão que está estendida sobre todas as nações.
27 For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul [it]? and his hand [is] stretched out, and who shall turn it back?
Porque o Senhor dos Exercitos o determinou; quem pois o invalidará? e a sua mão estendida está; quem pois a tornará atraz?
28 In the year that king Ahaz died was this burden.
No anno em que morreu o rei Achaz, aconteceu esta carga.
29 Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent’s root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit [shall be] a fiery flying serpent.
Não te alegres, ó tu, toda a Philistia, de que é quebrantada a vara que te feria; porque da raiz da cobra sairá um basilisco, e o seu fructo será uma serpente ardente, voadora.
30 And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill thy root with famine, and he shall slay thy remnant.
E os primogenitos dos pobres serão apascentados, e os necessitados se deitarão seguros; porém farei morrer de fome a tua raiz, e elle matará os teus residuos.
31 Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, [art] dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none [shall be] alone in his appointed times.
Dá uivos, ó porta, grita, ó cidade, que já tu, ó Philistia, estás toda derretida; porque do norte vem um fumo, e nenhum solitario haverá nas suas congregações.
32 What shall [one] then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.
Que se responderá pois aos mensageiros do povo? Que o Senhor fundou a Sião, para que os oppressos do seu povo n'ella tenham refugio.
