Galatians 6
1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Frères, lors même qu’un homme se serait laissé surprendre à quelque faute, vous qui êtes spirituels, redressez-le avec un esprit de douceur, prenant garde à vous-mêmes, de peur que vous ne tombiez aussi en tentation.
2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Portez les fardeaux les uns des autres, et vous accomplirez ainsi la parole du Christ;
3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
car si quelqu’un croit être quelque chose, alors qu’il n’est rien, il s’abuse lui-même.
4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
Que chacun examine ses propres œuvres, et alors il aura sujet de se glorifier pour lui seul, et non en se comparant à autrui;
5 For every man shall bear his own burden.
car chacun aura son propre fardeau à porter.
6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
Que celui à qui on enseigne la parole fasse part de tous ses biens à celui qui l’enseigne.
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Ne vous y trompez pas: on ne se rit pas de Dieu.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. (aiōnios g166)
Ce qu’on aura semé, on le moissonnera. Celui qui sème dans sa chair moissonnera, de la chair, la corruption; celui qui sème dans l’esprit moissonnera, de l’esprit, la vie éternelle. (aiōnios g166)
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Ne nous lassons pas de faire le bien; car nous moissonnerons en son temps, si nous ne nous relâchons pas.
10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all [men], especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Ainsi donc, pendant que nous en avons le temps, faisons le bien envers tous, et surtout envers les frères dans la foi.
11 Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.
Voyez quelles lettres j’ai tracées pour vous de ma propre main!
12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.
Tous ceux qui veulent gagner les bonnes grâces des hommes, ce sont ceux-là qui vous contraignent à vous faire circoncire, à l’unique fin de n’être pas persécutés pour la croix du Christ.
13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
Car ces circoncis, n’observent pas eux-mêmes la Loi; mais ils veulent que vous rece viez la circoncision, afin de se glorifier en votre chair. —
14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
Pour moi, Dieu me garde de me glorifier, si ce n’est dans la croix de Notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, par qui le monde est crucifié pour moi, comme je le suis pour le monde!
15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
Car [en Jésus-Christ] la circoncision n’est rien, l’incirconcision n’est rien; ce qui est, tout, c’est d’être une nouvelle créature.
16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace [be] on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
Paix et miséricorde sur tous ceux qui suivront cette règle, et sur l’Israël de Dieu!
17 From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
Au reste, que personne désormais ne me suscite plus d’embarras; car je porte sur mon corps les stigmates de Jésus.
18 Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with your spirit. Amen.
Frères, que la grâce de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ soit avec votre esprit! Amen!
