Acts 3
1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, [being] the ninth [hour].
ペテロとヨハネは午後三時の祈りの時間に宮に上って行った。
2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
すると、生まれつき足のきかない男が運ばれて来た。この男は、宮にはいる人たちから施しを求めるために、毎日「美しの門」という名の宮の門に置いてもらっていた。
3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
彼は、ペテロとヨハネが宮にはいろうとするのを見て、施しを求めた。
4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
ペテロは、ヨハネとともに、その男を見つめて、「私たちを見なさい。」と言った。
5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
男は何かもらえると思って、ふたりに目を注いだ。
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
すると、ペテロは、「金銀は私にはない。しかし、私にあるものを上げよう。ナザレのイエス・キリストの名によって、歩きなさい。」と言って、
7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted [him] up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
彼の右手を取って立たせた。するとたちまち、彼の足とくるぶしが強くなり、
8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
おどり上がってまっすぐに立ち、歩きだした。そして歩いたり、はねたりしながら、神を賛美しつつ、ふたりといっしょに宮にはいって行った。
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
人々はみな、彼が歩きながら、神を賛美しているのを見た。
10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.
そして、これが、施しを求めるために宮の「美しの門」にすわっていた男だとわかると、この人の身に起こったことに驚き、あきれた。
11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.
この人が、ペテロとヨハネにつきまとっている間に、非常に驚いた人々がみないっせいに、ソロモンの廊という回廊にいる彼らのところに、やって来た。
12 And when Peter saw [it], he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
ペテロはこれを見て、人々に向かってこう言った。「イスラエル人たち。なぜこのことに驚いているのですか。なぜ、私たちが自分の力とか信仰深さとかによって彼を歩かせたかのように、私たちを見つめるのですか。
13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let [him] go.
アブラハム、イサク、ヤコブの神、すなわち、私たちの先祖の神は、そのしもべイエスに栄光をお与えになりました。あなたがたは、この方を引き渡し、ピラトが釈放すると決めたのに、その面前でこの方を拒みました。
14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
そのうえ、このきよい、正しい方を拒んで、人殺しの男を赦免するように要求し、
15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
いのちの君を殺しました。しかし、神はこのイエスを死者の中からよみがえらせました。私たちはそのことの証人です。
16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
そして、このイエスの御名が、その御名を信じる信仰のゆえに、あなたがたがいま見ており知っているこの人を強くしたのです。イエスによって与えられる信仰が、この人を皆さんの目の前で完全なからだにしたのです。
17 And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did [it], as [did] also your rulers.
ですから、兄弟たち。私は知っています。あなたがたは、自分たちの指導者たちと同様に、無知のためにあのような行ないをしたのです。
18 But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.
しかし、神は、すべての預言者たちの口を通して、キリストの受難をあらかじめ語っておられたことを、このように実現されました。
19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
そういうわけですから、あなたがたの罪をぬぐい去っていただくために、悔い改めて、神に立ち返りなさい。
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
それは、主の御前から回復の時が来て、あなたがたのためにメシヤと定められたイエスを、主が遣わしてくださるためなのです。
21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. (aiōn g165)
このイエスは、神が昔から、聖なる預言者たちの口を通してたびたび語られた、あの万物の改まる時まで、天にとどまっていなければなりません。 (aiōn g165)
22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
モーセはこう言いました。『神である主は、あなたがたのために、私のようなひとりの預言者を、あなたがたの兄弟たちの中からお立てになる。この方があなたがたに語ることはみな聞きなさい。
23 And it shall come to pass, [that] every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
その預言者に聞き従わない者はだれでも、民の中から滅ぼし絶やされる。』
24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.
また、サムエルをはじめとして、彼に続いて語ったすべての預言者たちも、今の時について宣べました。
25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
あなたがたは預言者たちの子孫です。また、神がアブラハムに、『あなたの子孫によって、地の諸民族はみな祝福を受ける。』と言って、あなたがたの先祖と結ばれたあの契約の子孫です。
26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
神は、まずそのしもべを立てて、あなたがたにお遣わしになりました。それは、この方があなたがたを祝福して、ひとりひとりをその邪悪な生活から立ち返らせてくださるためなのです。」
