Acts 18
1 After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth;
౧ఆ తరువాత పౌలు ఏతెన్సు నుండి బయలుదేరి కొరింతుకు వచ్చాడు.
2 And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome: ) and came unto them.
౨పొంతు వంశానికి చెందిన అకుల అనే ఒక యూదుడినీ అతని భార్య ప్రిస్కిల్లనూ కనుగొన్నాడు. యూదులంతా రోమ్ నగరాన్ని విడిచి వెళ్ళాలని క్లాడియస్ చక్రవర్తి కొద్ది కాలం క్రితమే ఆజ్ఞ జారీ చేసిన కారణం చేత, వారు ఇటలీ నుంచి కొద్ది కాలం క్రితమే ఈ పట్టణానికి తరలి వచ్చారు.
3 And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.
౩వారి వృత్తి డేరాలు కుట్టడం. పౌలు వృత్తి కూడా అదే కాబట్టి అతడు వారితో నివసిస్తూ కలిసి పని చేశాడు.
4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.
౪అతడు ప్రతి విశ్రాంతిదినాన సమాజ మందిరంలో యూదులతో, గ్రీకు వారితో తర్కిస్తూ వారిని ఒప్పిస్తూ వచ్చాడు.
5 And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews [that] Jesus [was] Christ.
౫సీల, తిమోతిలు మాసిదోనియ నుండి వచ్చినప్పుడు పౌలు వాక్కు బోధించడంలో మరింతగా నిమగ్నమయ్యాడు. అతనిలో ఆత్మ కలిగించే ఆసక్తివల్ల యేసే క్రీస్తని యూదులకు బలంగా సాక్షమిస్తున్నాడు.
6 And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook [his] raiment, and said unto them, Your blood [be] upon your own heads; I [am] clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.
౬ఆ యూదులు అతనిని ఎదిరించి దూషించారు. అతడు తన బట్టలు దులుపుకుని, “మీ రక్తం మీ తలమీదే ఉండుగాక. నేను నిర్దోషిని. ఇక నుండి నేను యూదేతరుల దగ్గరికి వెళ్తాను” అని వారితో చెప్పి
7 And he departed thence, and entered into a certain [man’s] house, named Justus, [one] that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.
౭అక్కడ నుండి వెళ్ళి, దైవభక్తి గల తితియస్ యూస్తు అనే అతని ఇంటికి వచ్చాడు. అతని ఇల్లు సమాజ మందిరాన్ని ఆనుకుని ఉంది.
8 And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.
౮ఆ సమాజ మందిరం అధికారి క్రిస్పు కుటుంబ సమేతంగా ప్రభువులో విశ్వాసముంచాడు. ఇంకా కొరింతు పౌరుల్లో చాలామంది విని, విశ్వసించి బాప్తిసం పొందారు.
9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:
౯ప్రభువు రాత్రివేళ దర్శనంలో, “నీవు భయపడకుండా మాట్లాడు. మౌనంగా ఉండవద్దు.
10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.
౧౦ఎందుకంటే నేను నీకు తోడుగా ఉన్నాను, హాని చేయడానికి నీ మీదికి ఎవడూ రాడు. ఈ పట్టణంలో నాకు చెందినవారు చాలామంది ఉన్నారు” అని పౌలుతో చెప్పాడు.
11 And he continued [there] a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.
౧౧అతడు వారి మధ్య దేవుని వాక్కు బోధిస్తూ, ఒకటిన్నర సంవత్సరాలు అక్కడ నివసించాడు.
12 And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,
౧౨గల్లియో అకయకు గవర్నరుగా ఉన్న రోజుల్లో యూదులంతా ఏకమై పౌలు మీదికి లేచి న్యాయపీఠం ముందుకి అతణ్ణి తీసుకుని వచ్చారు.
13 Saying, This [fellow] persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.
౧౩“వీడు ధర్మశాస్త్రానికి విరుద్ధంగా దేవుణ్ణి ఆరాధించడానికి ప్రజలను ప్రేరేపిస్తున్నాడు” అని ఆరోపణ చేశారు.
14 And when Paul was now about to open [his] mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O [ye] Jews, reason would that I should bear with you:
౧౪పౌలు మాట్లాడడం ప్రారంభించినపుడు గల్లియో, “యూదులారా, ఈ వివాదం ఏదో ఒక అన్యాయానికో, ఒక చెడ్డ నేరానికో సంబంధించినదైతే నేను మీ మాట సహనంగా వినడం న్యాయమే.
15 But if it be a question of words and names, and [of] your law, look ye [to it]; for I will be no judge of such [matters].
౧౫ఇది ఏదో ఉపదేశం గురించో, పేరుల గురించో, మీ ధర్మశాస్త్రం గురించో వాదన అయితే ఆ విషయం మీరే చూసుకోండి. ఇలాంటి వాటి గురించి విచారణ చేయడానికి నాకు మనసు లేదు” అని యూదులతో చెప్పి
16 And he drave them from the judgment seat.
౧౬వారిని న్యాయపీఠం దగ్గర నుండి పంపివేశాడు.
17 Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat [him] before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things.
౧౭అప్పుడు అందరూ సమాజ మందిరం అధికారి సోస్తెనేసును పట్టుకుని న్యాయపీఠం దగ్గర కొట్టసాగారు. అయితే ఈ సంగతులేవీ గల్లియో పట్టించుకోలేదు.
18 And Paul [after this] tarried [there] yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn [his] head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.
౧౮పౌలు ఇంకా చాలా రోజులు అక్కడే ఉండి చివరికి వారి దగ్గర సెలవు తీసుకున్నాడు. కెంక్రేయ ఓడరేవులో తన నాజీరు వ్రత సంబంధమైన జుట్టు కత్తిరించుకుని ప్రిస్కిల్ల, అకులతో కలిసి సిరియాకు బయలుదేరాడు.
19 And he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.
౧౯వారు ఎఫెసు వచ్చినప్పుడు పౌలు వారిని అక్కడ విడిచి పెట్టి తాను మాత్రం సమాజ మందిరంలో ప్రవేశించి యూదులతో వాదిస్తూ ఉన్నాడు.
20 When they desired [him] to tarry longer time with them, he consented not;
౨౦వారు ఇంక కొంతకాలం తమతో ఉండమని పౌలును బతిమాలారు.
21 But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.
౨౧అతడు అంగీకరించక దేవుని చిత్తమైతే మరొకసారి వస్తానని చెప్పి వారి దగ్గర సెలవు తీసుకుని ఓడ ఎక్కి ఎఫెసు నుండి బయలుదేరాడు.
22 And when he had landed at Cæsarea, and gone up, and saluted the church, he went down to Antioch.
౨౨తరువాత కైసరయ రేవులో దిగి యెరూషలేము వెళ్ళి, అక్కడి సంఘాన్ని పలకరించి, అంతియొకయకు వచ్చాడు.
23 And after he had spent some time [there], he departed, and went over [all] the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples.
౨౩అక్కడ కొంతకాలం ఉన్న తరువాత బయలుదేరి వరసగా గలిలయ ప్రాంతంలో, ఫ్రుగియలో సంచరిస్తూ శిష్యులందరినీ స్థిరపరిచాడు.
24 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, [and] mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
౨౪అలెగ్జాండ్రియా వాడైన అపొల్లో అనే ఒక యూదుడు ఎఫెసు వచ్చాడు. అతడు గొప్ప విద్వాంసుడు, లేఖనాల్లో ప్రావీణ్యత కలిగినవాడు.
25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
౨౫అతడు ప్రభువు మార్గంలో ఉపదేశం పొంది, ఆత్మలో తీవ్రత కలిగి, యేసును గూర్చి అనర్గళంగా, స్పష్టంగా మాట్లాడుతూ, సమాజ మందిరాల్లో ధైర్యంగా బోధించడం మొదలు పెట్టాడు. కానీ అతనికి యోహాను బాప్తిసం గురించి మాత్రమే తెలుసు.
26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto [them], and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
౨౬ప్రిస్కిల్ల, అకుల అతని గురించి విని, అతనిని చేర్చుకుని దేవుని మార్గం గురించి పూర్తిగా విశదపరిచారు.
27 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:
౨౭తరువాత అతడు అకయ వెళ్ళాలని తలంచినప్పుడు అక్కడి విశ్వాసులకు ఉత్తరాలు రాసి అతనిని చేర్చుకోమని అక్కడి సోదరులను ప్రోత్సాహపరిచారు. అతడు అక్కడికి వచ్చి, దైవ కృపచేత విశ్వసించిన వారికి చాలా సహాయం చేశాడు.
28 For he mightily convinced the Jews, [and that] publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
౨౮లేఖనాల ఆధారంతో యేసే క్రీస్తని రుజువు పరుస్తూ, బహిరంగంగా యూదుల వాదాన్ని గట్టిగా ఖండిస్తూ వచ్చాడు.
