2 Peter 1
1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
Šimon Petr, služebník a apoštol Ježíše Krista, těm, kteříž spolu s námi zaroveň drahé dosáhli víry, pro spravedlnost Boha našeho a spasitele Jezukrista:
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
Milost vám a pokoj rozmnožen buď skrze známost Boha a Ježíše Pána našeho.
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that [pertain] unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Jakož nám od jeho Božské moci všecko, což k životu a ku pobožnosti náleželo, darováno jest, skrze známost toho, kterýž povolal nás k slávě a k ctnosti;
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Pročež veliká nám a drahá zaslíbení dána jsou, abyste skrze ně Božského přirození účastni učiněni byli, utekše porušení toho, kteréž jest na světě v žádostech.
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
Na to tedy samo všecku snažnost vynaložíce, přičinějte k víře své ctnost, a k ctnosti umění,
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
K umění pak zdrželivost, a k zdrželivosti trpělivost, k trpělivosti pak pobožnost,
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
Ku pobožnosti pak bratrstva milování, a k milování bratrstva lásku.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make [you that ye shall] neither [be] barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ty zajisté věci když budou při vás a rozhojní se, ne prázdné, ani neužitečné postaví vás v známosti Pána našeho Jezukrista.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
Nebo při komž není těchto věcí, slepýť jest, toho, což vzdáleno jest, nevida, zapomenuv se na očištění svých starých hříchů.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
Protož raději, bratří, snažujte se povolání a vyvolení své upevňovati; nebo to činíce, nepadnete nikdy.
11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (aiōnios g166)
Takť zajisté hojné způsobeno vám bude vjití k věčnému království Pána našeho a spasitele Jezukrista. (aiōnios g166)
12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know [them], and be established in the present truth.
Protož nezanedbámť vždycky vám připomínati těch věcí, ačkoli umělí i utvrzení jste v přítomné pravdě.
13 Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting [you] in remembrance;
Neboť to mám za spravedlivé, dokudž jsem v tomto stánku, abych vás probuzoval napomínáním,
14 Knowing that shortly I must put off [this] my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.
Věda, že brzké jest složení stánku mého, jakož mi i Pán náš Ježíš Kristus oznámil.
15 Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.
Přičinímť se tedy všelijak o to, abyste vy po odchodu mém na ty věci rozpomínati se mohli.
16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
Nebo ne nějakých vtipně složených básní následujíce, známu učinili jsme vám Pána našeho Jezukrista moc a příchod, ale jakožto ti, kteříž jsme očima svýma viděli jeho velebnost.
17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Přijalť zajisté od Boha Otce čest a slávu, když se stal k němu hlas takový od velebné slávy: Tentoť jest ten můj milý Syn, v němž mi se zalíbilo.
18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
A ten hlas my jsme slyšeli s nebe pošlý, s ním byvše na oné hoře svaté.
19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
A mámeť přepevnou řeč prorockou, kteréžto že šetříte jako svíce v temném místě svítící, dobře činíte, až by se den rozednil, a dennice vzešla v srdcích vašich,
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
Toto nejprvé znajíce, že žádného proroctví písma výklad nezáleží na rozumu lidském.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake [as they were] moved by the Holy Ghost.
Nebo nikdy z lidské vůle nepošlo proroctví, ale Duchem svatým puzeni byvše, mluvili svatí Boží lidé.
