< 1 Peter 3 >

1 Likewise, ye wives, [be] in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
Sao inaꞌ re! Faꞌra au ae ata musi rena neu atahori mana toꞌu koasa ra.
2 While they behold your chaste conversation [coupled] with fear.
3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward [adorning] of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
Inaꞌ meulaun, nda mia saa fo nenenita sia deaꞌ sa. Conto onaꞌ: tao langga fulun dadꞌi mataꞌ-mataꞌ, do, pake naꞌalelenaꞌ lilo mbilas-lilo fulaꞌ, do, pake bua-baꞌu mafelit nda nandaa hadꞌat sa.
4 But [let it be] the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, [even the ornament] of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
Te mana tao inaꞌ ra meulauꞌ tebꞌe naa, naeni: rala nara nda nenenitaꞌ siaꞌ deaꞌ sa. Conto onaꞌ: rala maloleꞌ ma mana subꞌa-subꞌa. Tungga Lamatuaꞌ mata memeten, meulauꞌ mataꞌ naa, mafelit.
5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
Huu lele uluꞌ a, ina rala maloleꞌ mana ramahere neu Lamatualain, rala malole nara o onaꞌ naa boe. Ara o tao rerenaꞌ neu sao nara.
6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
Haꞌi conto mia bei Saraꞌ. Ana tao rerenaꞌ neu saon Abraham. Ana o hela saon linu-afi e. Hei inaꞌ ra musi tungga eni dalan, huu mete ma hei tao dala matetuꞌ, na, afiꞌ mimitau saa-saa boe.
7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
Sao touꞌ re! Misodꞌa ralaꞌ esa mo sao mara. Timba-tai malolole saa fo maloleꞌ fee neu e, basa naa tao tungga. Mitudꞌu hadꞌa-hormat mbali e sia basa dalaꞌ ra, te inaꞌ ra maꞌaderen nda baꞌu onaꞌ touꞌ ra maꞌadꞌeren sa. Huu basa hei simbo belaꞌ pusaka fo Lamatualain nau fee neu nggiꞌ a. Naeni, simbo belaꞌ masodꞌa feuꞌ fo Lamatuaꞌ fee neu nggi mia rala malolen ena. Te hei sao touꞌ ra musi misodꞌa ralaꞌ esa mo sao mara, naa fo mete ma ruꞌa nggi soꞌu rala mara fo hule-oꞌe moꞌe saa esa mia Lamatuaꞌ, naa, Ana nau rena nggi boe.
8 Finally, [be ye] all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, [be] pitiful, [be] courteous:
Toronoo susueꞌ re! Neu mateꞌen, au ae olaꞌ dalaꞌ esa. Basa hei musi misodꞌa no ralaꞌ esa. Mitudꞌu rala maloleꞌ esa no esa. Afiꞌ koa-boꞌu ao mara, te musi miloe-midꞌae rala mara.
9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
Afiꞌ bala-bꞌae deꞌulakaꞌ no deꞌulakaꞌ. Mete ma atahori olaꞌ raꞌatutudaꞌ nggi, na afiꞌ olaꞌ miꞌitutudaꞌ baliꞌ atahori naa. Te moꞌe Lamatuaꞌ tao maloleꞌ neu atahori naa. Huu Lamatuaꞌ noꞌe nala nggi dadꞌi Eni atahorin, naa fo ama bisa simbo maloleꞌ mia E boe.
10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
Nenesuraꞌ sia Lamatuaꞌ Susura Meumaren oi, Atahori mana sangga masodꞌa maloleꞌ, ma mana sangga uanale naruꞌ a, atahori naa musi nanea bafan fo afiꞌ olaꞌ deꞌulakaꞌ, ma afiꞌ olaꞌ peko-lelekoꞌ.
11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
Ana musi doaꞌ, fo sudꞌi boe tao deꞌulakaꞌ fai, te tao baliꞌ a ndoo-tetuꞌ leo. Ana musi nanori nasodꞌa mole-dame no basa atahori, ma sangga dalaꞌ fo malolole no se.
12 For the eyes of the Lord [are] over the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord [is] against them that do evil.
Huu hita Lamatuan tao mataꞌ neu atahori mana nasodꞌa tunggaꞌ a ndoon. Ma Ana o nau rena neu hule-oꞌe nara boe. Te hita Lamatuan labꞌan nakandooꞌ a neu atahori mana nasodꞌa taoꞌ a deꞌulakaꞌ.”
13 And who [is] he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
Mete ma hei taoꞌ a ndoo-tetuꞌ, na, seka nae tao deꞌulakaꞌ mbali nggi fai? Nda hambu, sa to?
14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy [are ye]: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
Tao rala mara neenee-linolino, huu hei soꞌu Kristus sia rala mara fo dadꞌi hei Lamatua mana meumareꞌ.
16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
Te hei musi mitaa no rala maloleꞌ, ma mitudꞌu hadꞌa-hormat mbali se, naa fo ara bubꞌuluꞌ hei tao matetuꞌ mia rala meumareꞌ. Mae hei tao maloleꞌ taꞌo naa o, tantu hambu mana rae olaꞌ raꞌatutudꞌaꞌ nggi, huu ama nenepaꞌaꞌ mo Kristus. De mete ma ama tao maloleꞌ mikindooꞌ a, naa, sira mana raꞌamuti nggi dei fo ara mae.
17 For [it is] better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
Mete ma naa tungga Lamatuaꞌ hihiin, na, afiꞌ liliiꞌ, te malole lenaꞌ hei hambu susa-sonaꞌ huu tao ndoo-tetuꞌ a, afiꞌ huu hei tao salaꞌ
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
Te Kristus mate lao esa, huu hita atahori tao salaꞌ Eni mana nasodꞌa ndoo-tetuꞌ a, mate soaꞌ neu hita mana tasodꞌa to manggenggeoꞌ a. Ana mate fo hei bisa malolole baliꞌ mo Lamatualain. Kristus naa, atahori onaꞌ hita boe. Atahori tao risa E, te Lamatuaꞌ Dula-dalen tao nasodꞌa baliꞌ E.
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
Dula-daleꞌ naa o nendi E neu nanori ao samanaꞌ mana neneꞌenaꞌ ra sia mamanaꞌ sa ona bui e.
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
Sira naa, naeni atahori dalahuluꞌ fo nda mana nau rena Lamatuaꞌ sa. Leleꞌ naa baꞌi Noh tao ofa monaeꞌ sa. Lamatuaꞌ nea-nea nae mete atahori tao tungga Eni hihii-nanaun, te ara nda nau tao tungga sa. Naa de akaꞌ atahori faluꞌ a hambu rasodꞌa mia oe mandali monaeꞌ a.
21 The like figure whereunto [even] baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, ) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
Oe mandaliꞌ naa dadꞌi conto, onaꞌ leleꞌ hei nenesaraniꞌ boe. Saraniꞌ naa natudꞌu oi, Lamatuaꞌ mboꞌi hendi nggi mia sala-kilu mara, huu Yesus Kristus nasodꞌa baliꞌ ena. Leleꞌ ara sarani nggi, ara nda rariu nggi fo tao rameu ao mara sa. Te matetun, hei mitaa mbali Lamatuaꞌ, fo mae tao mimeu rala mara. No taꞌo naa, ama bisa misodꞌa no ndoo-tetuꞌ
22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
Leleꞌ ia, Yesus hene baliꞌ sorga neu ena.
