< 1 Corinthians 14 >

1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual [gifts], but rather that ye may prophesy.
Tao mihereꞌ fo esa sue-lai esa sia basa dalaꞌ ra. Huu nda hambu dalaꞌ laen manaseliꞌ lenaꞌ sa. Sangga dalaꞌ fo Lamatualain Dula-dalen fee nggi koasa ma babꞌanggi-babꞌaꞌeꞌ fo ama bisa tao dala-dala maloleꞌ. Boe ma malolen, naeni mete ma ama hambu babꞌanggi-babꞌaꞌeꞌ fo dui-bꞌengga Lamatualain hehelu-fufulin.
2 For he that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth [him]; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
Huu mete ma atahori hambu babꞌanggi-babꞌaꞌeꞌ fo dui-bꞌengga pake dedꞌeat laen, Lamatualain Dula-dalen fee ne koasa fo nafadꞌe dalaꞌ feꞌe mana maꞌafuniꞌ. Ana nda olaꞌ no atahori laen sa, te ana olaꞌ noꞌ a Lamatualain. Nda hambu atahori mana raꞌabꞌue sia naa, rahine atahori naa oꞌolan sa.
3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men [to] edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
Te mete ma atahori hambu babꞌanggi-babꞌaꞌeꞌ fo dui-bꞌengga Lamatualain hehelu-fufulin, ana helu-fuli neu basa atahori mana sia naa ra. Ana nafefela atahori ra nemeheren neu Lamatualain, tao manggatee rala nara, boe ma tao namahoꞌo mana susa-sonaꞌ ra.
4 He that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
5 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater [is] he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
Huu atahori mana olaꞌ dui-bꞌengga Lamatualain hehelu-fufulin, nggunan lenaꞌ mia atahori mana olaꞌ nendiꞌ a dedꞌeat laen. Mete ma hita olaꞌ tendiꞌ dedꞌeat laen, naa maloleꞌ boe, sadꞌi hambu atahori rafadꞌe rahine dedꞌeat naa sosoan. No taꞌo naa, hehelu-fufuliꞌ a boe tao basa atahori saraniꞌ ra basa se rahine.
6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
Toronoo susue nggara, e! Duꞌa sobꞌa dalaꞌ ia. Onaꞌ au uma sia hei e, fo au olaꞌ endiꞌ dedꞌeat fo ama nda mihine sa, hei hambu onton saa? Nda hambu sa, to? Te mete ma au olaꞌ o nggi, malole lenaꞌ mete ma au dui-bꞌengga Lamatualain hihii-nanaun. Malole lenaꞌ au utudꞌu dalaꞌ fo maꞌahulun nda feꞌe manggareloꞌ sa. Malole lenaꞌ au tulun hei fo mihine dalaꞌ ra no maloleꞌ lenaꞌ fai. Naa, feꞌe naꞌena ngguna soaꞌ neu nggi, to?
7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
Onaꞌ naa boe no sudꞌi a saa mana maliiꞌ ra. Ara nda masodꞌaꞌ sa, ma ara tao liiꞌ mataꞌ-mataꞌ. Pake sulin do, sasando do, gitar, te mete ma nda ubꞌa not na sa, na neꞌo atahori nda bisa rahine oi naꞌaminaꞌ sosodꞌat bee sa boe, to?
8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
Hokoꞌ, to?
9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.
Hei o onaꞌ naa boe. Mete ma hei olaꞌ mendiꞌ dedꞌeat laen, do olaꞌ mendiꞌ a dedꞌeat fo atahori nda rahine no matetuꞌ sa, naa onaꞌ hei olaꞌ mo anin. Parsumaꞌ a, huu atahori nda rahine masud ma sa!
10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them [is] without signification.
Hambu dedꞌeat mataꞌ hetar sia raefafoꞌ ia. Dedꞌeat ra esa-esaꞌ no eni sosoa-ndandaan!
11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh [shall be] a barbarian unto me.
Hai esa mo esa dadꞌi onaꞌ atahori fuiꞌ ra.
12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual [gifts], seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.
Hei o onaꞌ naa boe. Hei nau hambu koasa ma babꞌanggi-babꞌaꞌeꞌ mia Lamatualain. Naa malole. Te malole lenaꞌ hei tao mihereꞌ fo hambu koasa no babꞌanggi-babꞌaꞌeꞌ fo ama bisa pake fo tulun tao maꞌadꞌereꞌ neu atahori saraniꞌ hetar!
13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue pray that he may interpret.
Dadꞌi atahori mana olaꞌ nendiꞌ dedꞌeat laen, malole lenaꞌ hule-oꞌe noꞌe Lamatualain fee ne babꞌanggi-babꞌaꞌeꞌ fo bisa nafadꞌe dedꞌeat laen naa sosoan.
14 For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
Mete ma au hule-oꞌe endiꞌ dedꞌeat laen, au hule-oꞌe siaꞌ a rala ngga, te nda uhine ae au olaꞌ saa sa boe.
15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
Dadꞌi malolen, au tao taꞌo bee? Au pake ruꞌa se, te esa-esaꞌ no fain. Au ae hule-oꞌe endiꞌ a rala ngga. Ma au o ae hule-oꞌe endiꞌ dedꞌea-oꞌolaꞌ fo uhineꞌ a. Au ae koa-kio sia rala ngga neu Lamatualain endiꞌ sosodꞌa koa-kioꞌ. Boe ma au o bisa sodꞌa sosodꞌat endiꞌ dedꞌeat fo uhineꞌ a.
16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?
Huu mete ma ho pake dedꞌeat laen fo koa-kio Lamatualain mia rala ma, ma hambu atahori sia naa nda nahine dalaꞌ naa ra sa, taꞌo bee fo ana bisa ralaꞌ sa no nggo? Leleꞌ ho moꞌe makasi mbali Lamatualain mendiꞌ dedꞌeat laen, taꞌo bee fo ana naꞌahei no nggo nae, “Naa, tebꞌe!” Nda bisa sa, to? Huu nda nahine dedꞌeam sa.
17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
Ho bisa moꞌe makasi mbali Lamatualain taꞌo naa.
18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
Mbei ma hei nda bubꞌuluꞌ sa, te au olaꞌ endiꞌ dedꞌeat laen lenaꞌ basa nggi. Au oꞌe makasi mbali Lamatualain, huu Ana tao au bisa olaꞌ taꞌo naa.
19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that [by my voice] I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an [unknown] tongue.
Te mete ma atahori mamahereꞌ ra raꞌabꞌue, malole lenaꞌ au olaꞌ endiꞌ a dedꞌeat eꞌekuꞌ dekeꞌ limaꞌ a, mana tao se bisa rahine, fo au unori se, afiꞌ losa au olaꞌ loa-naruꞌ endiꞌ dedꞌeat laen, ma pake dedꞌeat mana leꞌu-loloꞌ, fo ara nda rahine.
20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.
Toronoo susue nggara e! Afiꞌ dudꞌuꞌa onaꞌ anadikiꞌ ra! Te neu dala deꞌulakaꞌ, hei musi onaꞌ anadikiꞌ, nda mana nahine tao dala deꞌulakaꞌ ra sa, huu rala nara meuꞌ.
21 In the law it is written, With [men of] other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
Sia Lamatualain Susura Meumaren, nenesuraꞌ oi: “Hita Lamatuan olaꞌ nae, ‘Au ae pake atahori mana olaꞌ nendiꞌ dedꞌeat laen ra, fo Au olaꞌ fee neu atahori nusa Israꞌel. Te mae au olaꞌ taꞌo bee boe o, ara nda nau rena Au sa.’”
22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying [serveth] not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
Huu naa, hei mita, mete ma atahori olaꞌ rendiꞌ dedꞌeat laen, naa dadꞌi tanda fee atahori nda feꞌe ramahere Lamatuaꞌ sa, fo rita koasa Na. Naa nda tulun atahori mana ramahere ena neu Lamatuaꞌ sa. Te mete ma atahori olaꞌ dui-bꞌengga Lamatualain hehelu-fufulin, naa tulun atahori mana ramahere ena neu E. Naa nda tulun atahori mana nda feꞌe ramahere neu E sa.
23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in [those that are] unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?
24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or [one] unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
Onaꞌ itaꞌ basa hei ola-olaꞌ dui-bꞌengga Lamatualain hehelu-fufulin, ma atahori nda feꞌe namahere sa, do atahori nda feꞌe nahine dalaꞌ ia ra sa, ara masoꞌ risiꞌ hei taladꞌa mara. Tantu atahori naa nae rena saa fo hei ola-olaꞌ naa. Dadꞌi saa fo hei olaꞌ naa, natudꞌu sala-kilu nara, de ana nau paresaꞌ masodꞌan no lutuꞌ-leloꞌ.
25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on [his] face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
Dadꞌi toronoo susue nggara, e! Leleꞌ hei miꞌibꞌue, atahori esa-esaꞌ no babꞌanggi-babꞌaꞌen. Ruma sodꞌa sosodꞌa koa-kio Lamatualain. Ruma ranori atahori soꞌal Lamatuaꞌ. Ruma fai rafadꞌe dalaꞌ mana mia Lamatualain, fo maꞌahulun feꞌe mana maꞌafuniꞌ a. Ruma olaꞌ rendiꞌ dedꞌeat laen. Boe ma ruma fai bisa rafadꞌe dedꞌeat naa sosoan. Basa dalaꞌ naa ra, ara musi tao fo tao maꞌadere atahori laen ra nemeheren.
27 If any man speak in an [unknown] tongue, [let it be] by two, or at the most [by] three, and [that] by course; and let one interpret.
Mete ma hambu ruma hiiꞌ a olaꞌ rendiꞌ dedꞌeat laen, na naa malole. Te itaꞌ atahori rua do telu o, dai ena. Nda parlu atahori hetar sa. Esa olaꞌ basa, dei fo esa olaꞌ fai. Boe ma musi hambu atahori mana bisa nafadꞌe sira dedꞌean sosoan.
28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
Mete ma nda hambu atahori bisa nafadꞌe dedꞌeat naa sosoan sa, na, afiꞌ olaꞌ mendiꞌ dedꞌeat laen sia atahori hetar matan. Hela fo ara olaꞌ onaꞌ naa siaꞌ a rala nara. Sira o bisa olaꞌ ro Lamatualain onaꞌ naa boe.
29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
Laen ra musi timba-tai malolole oꞌola nara.
30 If [any thing] be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
Matetun, basa hei bisa dui-bꞌengga Lamatualain hehelu-fufulin. Te helaꞌ atahori esa olaꞌ dei, dei fo feꞌe fee nonoon ena. No taꞌo naa, basa atahori bisa rena, basa se bisa ranori, ma ara bisa medꞌa rala nara boe manggatee lenaꞌ fai.
32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
Misinedꞌa te, atahori mana olaꞌ dui-bꞌengga Lamatualain hehelu-fufulin, musi nauli nahine aon. Boe ma, esa bisa nahani esa, ma laen ra raꞌatataaꞌ rala aon.
33 For God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
Te sia Lamatualain nda hambu nemue-neanggiꞌ sa. Basaꞌ e nenelinu-afiꞌ no maloleꞌ. Sia bee-bꞌee, mete ma atahori mamahereꞌ ra raꞌabꞌue, eni onaꞌ ia:
34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but [they are commanded] to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
Inaꞌ ra musi endoꞌ nee-nee. Sira afiꞌ olaꞌ naeꞌ. Musi tao rerenaꞌ neu malangga nara. Huu Lamatualain Hohoro-lalanen olaꞌ naꞌo naa boe, to?
35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?
Hei dudꞌuꞌa mara ona bee? Huu Lamatualain Dedꞌea-oꞌolan nda nema mia nggi sa!
37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
Mete ma hambu atahori sa nae eni bisa dui-bꞌengga nala Lamatualain hehelu-fufulin, do, duꞌa oi eni simbo koasa mia Lamatualain Dula-dalen, na, eni mesaꞌ ne bubꞌuluꞌ, au mana suraꞌ dalaꞌ naa fee neu nggi na, hohoro-lalaneꞌ naa nda mia au sa, te parendaꞌ naa mia Yesus, hita Lamatuan.
38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
Mete ma hambu atahori nda nau simbo dalaꞌ ia ra sa, na, ama afiꞌ simbo e boe.
39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
Toronoo susue nggara, e! Tao mihere no maꞌadꞌereꞌ fo hambu koasa dui-bꞌengga Lamatualain hehelu-fufulin. Boe ma afiꞌ ena-ai atahori mae, sudꞌi boe olaꞌ mendiꞌ dedꞌeat laen fai.
40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
Dadꞌi mete ma hei miꞌibꞌue, na, milalao basa dalaꞌ ia ra no matetuꞌ, tungga ndoon. Dalaꞌ esa laoꞌ dei, dei fo laen ra tungga. Milalao basa dalaꞌ ra no maloleꞌ. Afiꞌ mimue-mianggi.
