< Proverbs 29 >

1 He, that being often reproved hardens his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
A man that hardeneth his necke when he is rebuked, shall suddenly be destroyed and can not be cured.
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bears rule, the people mourn.
When the righteous are in authoritie, the people reioyce: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people sigh.
3 Whoso loves wisdom rejoices his father: but he that keeps company with harlots spends his substance.
A man that loueth wisdome, reioyceth his father: but he that feedeth harlots, wasteth his substance.
4 The king by judgment establishes the land: but he that receives gifts overthrows it.
A King by iudgement mainteineth ye countrey: but a man receiuing giftes, destroyeth it.
5 A man that flatters his neighbour spreads a net for his feet.
A man that flattereth his neighbour, spreadeth a net for his steps.
6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous does sing and rejoice.
In the transgression of an euill man is his snare: but the righteous doeth sing and reioyce.
7 The righteous considers the cause of the poor: but the wicked regards not to know it.
The righteous knoweth the cause of the poore: but the wicked regardeth not knowledge.
8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.
Scornefull men bring a citie into a snare: but wise men turne away wrath.
9 If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
If a wise man contend with a foolish man, whether he be angry or laugh, there is no rest.
10 The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
Bloodie men hate him that is vpright: but the iust haue care of his soule.
11 A fool utters all his mind: but a wise man keeps it in till afterwards.
A foole powreth out all his minde: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterward.
12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.
Of a prince that hearkeneth to lyes, all his seruants are wicked.
13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lightens both their eyes.
The poore and the vsurer meete together, and the Lord lighteneth both their eyes.
14 The king that faithfully judges the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
A King that iudgeth the poore in trueth, his throne shalbe established for euer.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself brings his mother to shame.
The rodde and correction giue wisdome: but a childe set a libertie, maketh his mother ashamed.
16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases: but the righteous shall see their fall.
When the wicked are increased, transgression increaseth: but ye righteous shall see their fall.
17 Correct your son, and he shall give you rest; yea, he shall give delight unto your soul.
Correct thy sonne and he will giue thee rest, and will giue pleasures to thy soule.
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he.
Where there is no vision, the people decay: but he that keepeth the Lawe, is blessed.
19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.
A seruant will not be chastised with words: though he vnderstand, yet he will not answere.
20 See you a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
Seest thou a man hastie in his matters? there is more hope of a foole, then of him.
21 He that delicately brings up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.
He that delicately bringeth vp his seruant from youth, at length he will be euen as his sone.
22 An angry man stirs up strife, and a furious man abounds in transgression.
An angrie man stirreth vp strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
The pride of a man shall bring him lowe: but the humble in spirit shall enioy glory.
24 Whoso is partner with a thief hates his own soul: he hears cursing, and betrayed it not.
He that is partner with a thiefe, hateth his owne soule: he heareth cursing, and declareth it not.
25 The fear of man brings a snare: but whoso puts his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
The feare of man bringeth a snare: but he that trusteth in the Lord, shalbe exalted.
26 Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment comes from the LORD.
Many doe seeke the face of the ruler: but euery mans iudgement commeth from the Lord.
27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.
A wicked man is abomination to the iust, and he that is vpright in his way, is abomination to the wicked.
