Numbers 35

1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,

൧യഹോവ പിന്നെയും യെരിഹോവിനെതിരെ യോർദ്ദാനരികെ മോവാബ് സമഭൂമിയിൽവച്ച് മോശെയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്:

2 Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and all of you shall give also unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them.

൨“യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾ അവരുടെ അവകാശത്തിൽനിന്ന് ലേവ്യർക്ക് വസിക്കുവാൻ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ കൊടുക്കണമെന്ന് അവരോട് കല്പിക്കുക; പട്ടണങ്ങളോടുകൂടി അവയുടെ പുല്പുറവും നിങ്ങൾ ലേവ്യർക്ക് കൊടുക്കണം.

3 And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the suburbs of them shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.

൩പട്ടണങ്ങൾ അവർക്ക് പാർപ്പിടവും, അവയുടെ പുല്പുറങ്ങൾ ആടുമാടുകൾക്കും സകല മൃഗസമ്പത്തിനും ആയിരിക്കണം.

4 And the suburbs of the cities, which all of you shall give unto the Levites, shall reach from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about.

൪നിങ്ങൾ ലേവ്യർക്ക് നൽകേണ്ട പുല്പുറങ്ങൾ: പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ മതിലിൽതുടങ്ങി പുറത്തേക്ക് ചുറ്റും ആയിരം മുഴം വിസ്താരം ആയിരിക്കണം.

5 And all of you shall measure from without the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits; and the city shall be in the midst: this shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.

൫പട്ടണം മദ്ധ്യത്തിലാക്കി അതിന് പുറമെ കിഴക്കോട്ട് രണ്ടായിരം മുഴവും തെക്കോട്ട് രണ്ടായിരം മുഴവും പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ട് രണ്ടായിരം മുഴവും വടക്കോട്ട് രണ്ടായിരം മുഴവും അളക്കണം; ഇത് അവർക്ക് പട്ടണങ്ങളുടെ പുല്പുറം ആയിരിക്കണം.

6 And among the cities which all of you shall give unto the Levites there shall be six cities for refuge, which all of you shall appoint for the murderer, that he may flee thither: and to them all of you shall add forty and two cities.

൬നിങ്ങൾ ലേവ്യർക്ക് കൊടുക്കുന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ആറ് സങ്കേതനഗരങ്ങളായിരിക്കണം; കൊലചെയ്തവൻ അവിടേക്ക് ഓടിപ്പോകേണ്ടതിന് നിങ്ങൾ അവയെ അവനുവേണ്ടി വേർതിരിക്കണം; ഇവ കൂടാതെ നിങ്ങൾ വേറെയും നാല്പത്തിരണ്ട് പട്ടണങ്ങൾ കൊടുക്കണം.

7 So all the cities which all of you shall give to the Levites shall be forty and eight cities: them shall all of you give with their suburbs.

൭അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ ലേവ്യർക്ക് കൊടുക്കുന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങൾ എല്ലാംകൂടി നാല്പത്തിയെട്ട് ആയിരിക്കണം; അവയും അവയുടെ പുല്പുറങ്ങളും കൊടുക്കണം.

8 And the cities which all of you shall give shall be of the possession of the children of Israel: from them that have many all of you shall give many; but from them that have few all of you shall give few: every one shall give of his cities unto the Levites according to his inheritance which he inherits.

൮യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളുടെ അവകാശത്തിൽനിന്ന് ജനം ഏറെയുള്ളവർക്ക് ഏറെയും ജനം കുറഞ്ഞവർക്ക് കുറവും പട്ടണങ്ങൾ കൊടുക്കണം; ഓരോ ഗോത്രം തനിക്ക് ലഭിക്കുന്ന അവകാശത്തിന് ഒത്തവണ്ണം ലേവ്യർക്ക് പട്ടണങ്ങൾ കൊടുക്കണം”.

9 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

൯യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്:

10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When all of you be come over Jordan into the land of Canaan;

൧൦“നീ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളോട് പറയേണ്ടത്: ‘നിങ്ങൾ യോർദ്ദാൻ കടന്ന് കനാൻദേശത്ത് എത്തിയശേഷം

11 Then all of you shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you; that the slayer may flee thither, which kills any person at unexpectedly.

൧൧ചില പട്ടണങ്ങൾ സങ്കേതനഗരങ്ങളായി വേർതിരിക്കണം; അബദ്ധവശാൽ ഒരുവനെ കൊന്നുപോയവൻ അവിടേക്ക് ഓടിപ്പോകണം.

12 And they shall be unto you cities for refuge from the avenger; that the murderer die not, until he stand before the congregation in judgment.

൧൨കൊലചെയ്തവൻ സഭയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ വിസ്താരത്തിന് നില്‍ക്കുംവരെ അവൻ പ്രതികാരകന്റെ കയ്യാൽ മരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവ സങ്കേതനഗരങ്ങൾ ആയിരിക്കണം.

13 And of these cities which all of you shall give six cities shall all of you have for refuge.

൧൩നിങ്ങൾ കൊടുക്കുന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ആറെണ്ണം സങ്കേതനഗരങ്ങൾ ആയിരിക്കണം.

14 All of you shall give three cities on this side Jordan, and three cities shall all of you give in the land of Canaan, which shall be cities of refuge.

൧൪യോർദ്ദാന് അക്കരെ മൂന്ന് പട്ടണവും കനാൻദേശത്ത് മൂന്ന് പട്ടണവും കൊടുക്കണം; അവ സങ്കേതനഗരങ്ങൾ ആയിരിക്കണം.

15 These six cities shall be a refuge, both for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them: that every one that kills any person unexpectedly may flee thither.

൧൫അബദ്ധവശാൽ ഒരുവനെ കൊല്ലുന്നവൻ അവിടേക്ക് ഓടിപ്പോകേണ്ടതിന് ഈ ആറ് പട്ടണം യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കും പരദേശിക്കും വന്നു പാർക്കുന്നവനും സങ്കേതം ആയിരിക്കണം.

16 And if he strike him with an instrument of iron, so that he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

൧൬എന്നാൽ ആരെങ്കിലും ഇരുമ്പായുധംകൊണ്ട് ഒരുവനെ അടിച്ചിട്ട് അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയാൽ അവൻ കൊലപാതകൻ; കൊലപാതകൻ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കണം.

17 And if he strike him with throwing a stone, wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

൧൭മരിക്കുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ആരെങ്കിലും ഒരുവനെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞിട്ട് അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയാൽ അവൻ കൊലപാതകൻ; കൊലപാതകൻ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കണം.

18 Or if he strike him with an hand weapon of wood, wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

൧൮അല്ലെങ്കിൽ മരിക്കുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ആരെങ്കിലും കയ്യിലിരുന്ന മരയായുധംകൊണ്ട് ഒരുവനെ അടിച്ചിട്ട് അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയാൽ അവൻ കൊലപാതകൻ; കൊലപാതകൻ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കണം.

19 The revenger of blood himself shall slay the murderer: when he meet him, he shall slay him.

൧൯രക്തപ്രതികാരകൻ തന്നെ കൊലപാതകനെ കൊല്ലണം; അവനെ കണ്ടുമുട്ടുമ്പോൾ അവനെ കൊല്ലണം.

20 But if he thrust him of hatred, or hurl at him by laying of wait, that he die;

൨൦ആരെങ്കിലും വിദ്വേഷം നിമിത്തം ഒരുവനെ കുത്തുകയോ കരുതിക്കൂട്ടി അവന്റെമേൽ വല്ലതും എറിയുകയോ ചെയ്തിട്ട് അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയാൽ,

21 Or in enmity strike him with his hand, that he die: he that stroke him shall surely be put to death; for he is a murderer: the revenger of blood shall slay the murderer, when he meet him.

൨൧അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ശത്രുതയാൽ കൈകൊണ്ട് അവനെ അടിച്ചിട്ട് അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയാൽ അവനെ കൊന്നവൻ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കണം. അവൻ കൊലപാതകൻ; രക്തപ്രതികാരകൻ കൊലപാതകനെ കണ്ടുമുട്ടുമ്പോൾ കൊന്നുകളയണം.

22 But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or have cast upon him any thing without laying of wait,

൨൨എന്നാൽ ആരെങ്കിലും ശത്രുതകൂടാതെ പെട്ടെന്ന് ഒരുവനെ കുത്തുകയോ മനഃപൂർവ്വം അല്ലാതെ വല്ലതും അവന്റെമേൽ എറിയുകയോ,

23 Or with any stone, wherewith a man may die, seeing him not, and cast it upon him, that he die, and was not his enemy, neither sought his harm:

൨൩അവന് ശത്രുവായിരിക്കാതെയും അവന് ദോഷം വിചാരിക്കാതെയും അവൻ മരിക്കുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അവനെ കാണാതെ കല്ല് എറിയുകയോ ചെയ്തിട്ട് അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയാൽ

24 Then the congregation shall judge between the slayer and the revenger of blood according to these judgments:

൨൪കൊലചെയ്തവനും രക്തപ്രതികാരകനും മദ്ധ്യത്തിൽ ഈ ന്യായങ്ങൾ അനുസരിച്ച് സഭ വിധിക്കണം.

25 And the congregation shall deliver the slayer out of the hand of the revenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge, where he was fled: and he shall abide in it unto the death of the high priest, which was anointed with the holy oil.

൨൫കൊല ചെയ്തവനെ സഭ രക്തപ്രതികാരകന്റെ കൈയിൽനിന്ന് രക്ഷിക്കണം; അവൻ ഓടിപ്പോയിരുന്ന സങ്കേതനഗരത്തിലേക്ക് അവനെ മടക്കി അയയ്ക്കണം; വിശുദ്ധതൈലത്താൽ അഭിഷിക്തനായ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ മരണംവരെ അവൻ അവിടെ പാർക്കണം.

26 But if the slayer shall at any time come without the border of the city of his refuge, where he was fled;

൨൬എന്നാൽ കൊലചെയ്തവൻ ഓടിപ്പോയിരുന്ന സങ്കേതനഗരത്തിന്റെ അതിരു വിട്ട് പുറത്തുവരികയും

27 And the revenger of blood find him without the borders of the city of his refuge, and the revenger of blood kill the slayer; he shall not be guilty of blood:

൨൭അവനെ അവന്റെ സങ്കേതനഗരത്തിന്റെ അതിരിനു പുറത്തുവച്ച് കണ്ട് രക്തപ്രതികാരകൻ കൊല ചെയ്തവനെ കൊല്ലുകയും ചെയ്താൽ അവന് രക്തപാതകം ഇല്ല.

28 Because he should have remained in the city of his refuge until the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the slayer shall return into the land of his possession.

൨൮അവൻ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ മരണംവരെ തന്റെ സങ്കേതനഗരത്തിൽ പാർക്കേണ്ടിയിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ കൊല ചെയ്തവന് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ മരണശേഷം തന്റെ അവകാശഭൂമിയിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങിപ്പോകാം.

29 So these things shall be for a statute of judgment unto you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

൨൯ഇത് നിങ്ങൾക്ക് തലമുറതലമുറയായി നിങ്ങളുടെ സകലവാസസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും ന്യായവിധിക്കുള്ള പ്രമാണം ആയിരിക്കണം.

30 Whoso kills any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die.

൩൦ആരെങ്കിലും ഒരുവനെ കൊന്നാൽ കൊലപാതകൻ സാക്ഷികളുടെ വാമൊഴിപ്രകാരം മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കണം; എന്നാൽ ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ നേരെ മരണശിക്ഷയ്ക്ക് ഏകസാക്ഷിയുടെ മൊഴി മതിയാകുന്നതല്ല.

31 Moreover all of you shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death.

൩൧മരണയോഗ്യനായ കൊലപാതകന്റെ ജീവനുവേണ്ടി നിങ്ങൾ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുവില വാങ്ങരുത്; അവൻ മരണശിക്ഷ തന്നെ അനുഭവിക്കണം.

32 And all of you shall take no satisfaction for him that is fled to the city of his refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.

൩൨സങ്കേതനഗരത്തിലേക്ക് ഓടിപ്പോയവൻ പുരോഹിതന്റെ മരണത്തിനു മുമ്പെ നാട്ടിൽ മടങ്ങിവന്ന് പാർക്കേണ്ടതിനും നിങ്ങൾ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുവില വാങ്ങരുത്.

33 So all of you shall not pollute the land wherein all of you are: for blood it defiles the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.

൩൩നിങ്ങൾ പാർക്കുന്ന ദേശം അങ്ങനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കരുത്; രക്തം ദേശത്തെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നു; ദേശത്ത് ചൊരിഞ്ഞ രക്തത്തിനുവേണ്ടി രക്തം ചൊരിയിച്ചവന്റെ രക്തത്താൽ അല്ലാതെ ദേശത്തിന് പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം സാദ്ധ്യമല്ല.

34 Defile not therefore the land which all of you shall inhabit, wherein I dwell: for I the LORD dwell among the children of Israel.

൩൪അതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ അധിവസിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ പാർപ്പിടമായ ദേശം അശുദ്ധമാക്കരുത്; യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ അധിവസിക്കുന്നു”.
