< Isaiah 41 >

1 Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment.
“ʻAe ngaahi motu, mou fakalongo pē ʻi hoku ʻao; pea tuku ke fakafoʻou ʻe he kakai honau mālohi: tuku ke nau haʻu ke ofi; pea toki tuku ke nau lea: ke tau ʻunuʻunu ke ofi ki he fakamaau.
2 Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow.
Ko hai naʻa ne fokotuʻu ʻae tangata māʻoniʻoni mei he potu hahake, ʻo ui ia ki hono vaʻe, pea foaki ʻae ngaahi puleʻanga ʻi hono ʻao, pe ngaohi ia ke pule ki he ngaahi tuʻi? Naʻa ne foaki ʻakinautolu ʻo hangē ko e efu ki heʻene heletā, pea hangē ko e veve kuo vilingia ki heʻene kaufana.
3 He pursued them, and passed safely; even by the way that he had not gone with his feet.
Naʻa ne tulia ʻakinautolu, pea ʻalu fiemālie pe; ʻio, ʻi he hala naʻe ʻikai fou ai hono vaʻe.
4 Who has wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he.
Ko hai kuo ngāue mo fai ia, ʻo ne ui ʻae toʻutangata mei he kamataʻanga? Ko au ko Sihova, ko e ʻuluaki pea mo e kimui; ko au ia.
5 The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.
Naʻe mamata ʻe he ngaahi motu, pea manavahē; naʻe manavahē ʻae ngaahi ngataʻanga ʻo māmani, ʻonau ʻunuʻunu mai, pea haʻu.
6 They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage.
7 So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smoothes with the hammer him that stroke the anvil, saying, It is ready for the soldering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.
Ko ia naʻe tokoni ʻae tufunga ʻakau ki he tufunga koula, pea mo ia ʻoku fakamolemole ʻaki ʻae hamala ʻaia naʻa ne taaʻi ki he fakalalango, ʻo pehē, “Kuo ʻosi” hono teu ki he fakahoko: pea ne fakamaʻu ia ʻaki ʻae ngaahi faʻo, ke ʻoua naʻa ngaue ia.
8 But you, Israel, are my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.
9 You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called you from the chief men thereof, and said unto you, You are my servant; I have chosen you, and not cast you away.
‌ʻA koe kuo u toʻo mei he ngataʻanga ʻo māmani, pea ui mei he kau tangata tuʻu ki muʻa ʻi ai, pea kuo u pehē kiate koe, ‘Ko koe ko ʻeku tamaioʻeiki;’ kuo u fili koe, ka naʻe ʻikai liʻaki koe.
10 Fear you not; for I am with you: be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yea, I will help you; yea, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
11 Behold, all they that were incensed against you shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with you shall perish.
Vakai, ko kinautolu kotoa pē naʻe ʻita kiate koe te nau mā pea puputuʻu: te nau hangē ko e meʻa noa pe; pea ʻe ʻauha mo kinautolu ʻoku fai kovi kiate koe.
12 You shall seek them, and shall not find them, even them that contended with you: they that war against you shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nothing.
Te ke kumi ʻakinautolu, ka e ʻikai ʻiloʻi ʻakinautolu, ʻio, ʻakinautolu naʻe fai mo koe: ko kinautolu ʻoku tauʻi koe te nau hangē ko e meʻa noa pe, pea hangē ha meʻa ʻoku ʻikai.
13 For I the LORD your God will hold your right hand, saying unto you, Fear not; I will help you.
He ko au ko Sihova ko ho ʻOtua te u puke ho nima toʻomataʻu, ʻo pehē kiate koe, ‘ʻOua ʻe manavahē; te u tokoni koe.’
14 Fear not, you worm Jacob, and all of you men of Israel; I will help you, says the LORD, and your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
‌ʻOua naʻa manavahē ʻa koe, ko e kelemutu ko Sēkope, pea mo kimoutolu ʻae kau tangata ʻo ʻIsileli; ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, ko ho huhuʻi, ko e tokotaha māʻoniʻoni ʻo ʻIsileli, te u tokoni kiate koe.
15 Behold, I will make you a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: you shall thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shall make the hills as chaff.
Vakai, te u ngaohi kiate koe ha meʻa haha foʻou ʻoku māsila pea nifo: te ke haha ʻae ngaahi moʻunga, pea taaʻi ke iiki, pea ngaohi ʻae ngaahi tafungofunga ʻo hangē ko e veve vilingia.
16 You shall fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and you shall rejoice in the LORD, and shall glory in the Holy One of Israel.
17 When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue fails for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
‌ʻOka kumi ʻe he masiva mo e paea ʻae vai, pea ʻoku ʻikai ia, pea ʻoku vaivai honau ʻelelo ʻi he fieinu, Ko au ko Sihova te u fanongo kiate kinautolu, Ko au ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻIsileli ʻe ʻikai te u liʻaki ʻakinautolu.
18 I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
Te u fakaava ʻae ngaahi vaitafe ʻi he ngaahi potu māʻolunga, pea mo e ngaahi matavai ʻi he ngaahi teleʻa: te u ngaohi ʻae toafa ko e anovai, pea mo e fonua mōmoa ko e ngaahi matavai.
19 I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together:
Te u tō ʻi he toafa ʻae sita, ʻae ʻakau ko e sita, pea mo e maile, pea mo e ʻakau lolo; te u tō fakataha ʻi he toafa lala ʻae ʻakau ko e fea, pea mo e paini, pea mo e ʻakau ko e pokasi:
20 That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it.
Koeʻuhi ke nau mamata, pea ongoʻi, pea tokanga, pea ʻilo fakataha, ko e nima ʻo Sihova kuo ne fai ʻae meʻa ni, pea kuo fakatupu ia ʻe he tokotaha māʻoniʻoni ʻo ʻIsileli.
21 Produce your cause, says the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, says the King of Jacob.
‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, “Fakahā hoʻomou meʻa;” ʻoku pehē ʻe he Tuʻi ʻo Sēkope, “ʻOmi hoʻomou lea mamafa.”
22 Let them bring them forth, and show us what shall happen: let them show the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things in order to come.
“Tuku ke nau ʻomi ia, pea fakahā kiate kimautolu pe ko e hā ʻe hoko: tuku ke nau fakahā ʻae ngaahi meʻa muʻa, pe ko e hā ia, ke mau fifili ki ai, pea ʻilo mo hono fakamoʻoni ʻo ia; pe fakahā kiate kimautolu ʻae ngaahi meʻa ʻe haʻu ʻamui.
23 Show the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that all of you are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.
Fakahā ʻae ngaahi meʻa ʻe hoko ʻamui, ke mau ʻilo ko e ngaahi ʻotua ʻakimoutolu: ʻio, fai lelei, pe fai kovi, ke mau ilifia, pea mamata fakataha ki ai.
24 Behold, all of you are of nothing, and your work of nothing: an abomination is he that chooses you.
Vakai, ʻoku siʻi hifo ʻakimoutolu ʻi he meʻa ʻoku ʻikai, pea ko hoʻomou ngāue ko e meʻa noa pe: ʻoku fakalielia ia ʻaia ʻoku ne fili ʻakimoutolu.
25 I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon mortar, and as the potter treads clay.
“Kuo u fokotuʻu ha tokotaha mei he potu tokelau, pea ʻe haʻu ia: talu mei he hopo ʻae laʻā te ne ui ki hoku huafa: pea te ne molomoloki ʻae houʻeiki ʻo hangē ko e lahe kuo hakaluku, pea hangē ʻoku molomoloki ʻe he tangata ngaohi ipu ʻae ʻumea.
26 Who has declared from the beginning, that we may know? and in time past, that we may say, He is righteous? yea, there is none that shows, yea, there is none that declares, yea, there is none that hears your words.
Ko hai kuo ne fakahā mei he kamataʻanga, ke mau ʻilo ia? Pea ʻi muʻa, ke mau pehē ai, ‘ʻOku moʻoni ʻae meʻa ni?’ Ko e moʻoni, ʻoku ʻikai ha tokotaha naʻe tomuʻa tala ia, ko e moʻoni, ʻoku ʻikai ha taha naʻe fakahā ia, ʻio, naʻe ʻikai ha tokotaha te ne fanongo ki hoʻomou ngaahi lea.
27 The first shall say to Zion, Behold, behold them: and I will give to Jerusalem one that brings good tidings.
28 For I beheld, and there was no man; even among them, and there was no counsellor, that, when I asked of them, could answer a word.
He naʻaku mamata, ka naʻe ʻikai ha tangata; ʻio, ʻiate kinautolu, pea naʻe ʻikai ha fakahinohino, pea ʻi heʻeku ʻeke kiate kinautolu, naʻe ʻikai te nau tali ʻaki ha momoʻi lea.
29 Behold, they are all vanity; their works are nothing: their molten images are wind and confusion.
Vakai, ko e vaʻinga kotoa pē ʻa ʻenau ngāue: ko e matangi mo e vaʻinga ʻa ʻenau ngaahi tamapua kuo haka.
