Ezekiel 18
1 The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,
ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ବାକ୍ୟ ପୁନର୍ବାର ମୋʼ ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା,
2 What mean all of you, that all of you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge?
“ପିତାମାତା ‘ଅମ୍ଳ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାଫଳ ଖାଇଲେ, ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ଦନ୍ତ ଖଟା ହୋଇଅଛି, ଏହି ଯେଉଁ ପ୍ରବାଦ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଦେଶ ବିଷୟରେ କହୁଅଛ,’ ଏଥିରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଅଭିପ୍ରାୟ କି?
3 As I live, says the Lord GOD, all of you shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel.
ପ୍ରଭୁ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଜୀବିତ ଥିବା ପ୍ରମାଣେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଏହି ପ୍ରବାଦ କହିବାର କାରଣ ଆଉ ପାଇବ ନାହିଁ।
4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sins, it shall die.
ଦେଖ, ଯାବତୀୟ ପ୍ରାଣ ଆମ୍ଭର; ପିତାର ପ୍ରାଣ ଯେପରି, ପୁତ୍ରର ପ୍ରାଣ ହିଁ ସେହିପରି ଆମ୍ଭର; ଯେଉଁ ପ୍ରାଣୀ ପାପ କରେ, ସେହି ମରିବ।
5 But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right,
ମାତ୍ର ଯଦି ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ଧାର୍ମିକ ହୁଏ, ନ୍ୟାୟ ଓ ଧର୍ମାଚରଣ କରେ,
6 And has not eaten upon the mountains, neither has lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither has defiled his neighbour's wife, neither has come near to a menstruous woman,
ପୁଣି, ଯେ ପର୍ବତଗଣର ଉପରେ ଭୋଜନ କିଅବା ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବଂଶର ପ୍ରତିମାଗଣ ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଷ୍ଟିପାତ କରି ନାହିଁ, ଅଥବା ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିବାସୀର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟାକୁ ଭ୍ରଷ୍ଟ କରି ନାହିଁ, କିଅବା ଋତୁମତୀ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀର ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି ନାହିଁ;
7 And has not oppressed any, but has restored to the debtor his pledge, has spoiled none by violence, has given his bread to the hungry, and has covered the naked with a garment;
ପୁଣି, ଯେ କାହାରି ପ୍ରତି ଅନ୍ୟାୟ କରି ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ଋଣୀକୁ ତାହାର ବନ୍ଧକି ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ଫେରାଇ ଦେଇଅଛି, ଉପଦ୍ରବ କରି କାହାରି କିଛି ଅପହରଣ କରି ନାହିଁ, ଆପଣାର ଭକ୍ଷ୍ୟ କ୍ଷୁଧିତକୁ ଦେଇଅଛି ଓ ଉଲଙ୍ଗକୁ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ପିନ୍ଧାଇଅଛି;
8 He that has not given forth upon interest, neither has taken any increase, that has withdrawn his hand from iniquity, has executed true judgment between man and man,
ଯେ ସୁଧ ପାଇଁ ଋଣ ଦେଇ ନାହିଁ, କିଅବା କିଛି ବୃଦ୍ଧି ନେଇ ନାହିଁ, ଯେ ଅଧର୍ମରୁ ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତ ଫେରାଇଅଛି, ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଯଥାର୍ଥ ବିଚାର କରିଅଛି,
9 Has walked in my statutes, and has kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, says the Lord GOD.
ଆମ୍ଭର ବିଧିମତେ ଆଚରଣ କରିଅଛି ଓ ସତ୍ୟ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆମ୍ଭର ଶାସନସକଳ ପାଳନ କରିଅଛି, ସେହି ଲୋକ ଧାର୍ମିକ, ପ୍ରଭୁ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ସେ ଅବଶ୍ୟ ବଞ୍ଚିବ।
10 If he brought forth a son that is a robber, a shedder of blood, and that does the like to any one of these things,
ଯଦି ସେହି ଲୋକର ପୁତ୍ର ଡକାୟତ ଓ ରକ୍ତପାତକାରୀ ହୁଏ, ଆଉ ଏଥିମଧ୍ୟରୁ କୌଣସି କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରେ
11 And that does not any of those duties, but even has eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbour's wife,
ଓ ସେହି ସବୁ କର୍ତ୍ତବ୍ୟ କର୍ମ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କୌଣସି କର୍ତ୍ତବ୍ୟ କର୍ମ ନ କରେ, ମାତ୍ର ଯେ ପର୍ବତଗଣର ଉପରେ ଭୋଜନ କରିଅଛି ଓ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିବାସୀର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟାକୁ ଭ୍ରଷ୍ଟ କରିଅଛି,
12 Has oppressed the poor and needy, has spoiled by violence, has not restored the pledge, and has lifted up his eyes to the idols, has committed abomination,
ଦରିଦ୍ର ଦୀନହୀନର ପ୍ରତି ଅନ୍ୟାୟ କରିଅଛି, ଦୌରାତ୍ମ୍ୟ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଅପହରଣ କରିଅଛି, ବନ୍ଧକି ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ଫେରାଇ ଦେଇ ନାହିଁ ଓ ପ୍ରତିମାଗଣ ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଷ୍ଟିପାତ କରିଅଛି,
13 Has given forth upon interest, and has taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he has done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.
ଘୃଣାଯୋଗ୍ୟ କ୍ରିୟା କରିଅଛି, ସୁଧ ପାଇଁ ଋଣ ଦେଇଅଛି ଓ ବୃଦ୍ଧି ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିଅଛି, ସେ କି ବଞ୍ଚିବ? ସେ ବଞ୍ଚିବ ନାହିଁ, ସେ ଏହିସବୁ ଘୃଣାଯୋଗ୍ୟ କ୍ରିୟା କରିଅଛି; ସେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ମରିବ, ତାହାର ରକ୍ତ ତାହାର ଉପରେ ବର୍ତ୍ତିବ।
14 Now, lo, if he brought forth a son, that sees all his father's sins which he has done, and considers, and does not such like,
ଆହୁରି ଦେଖ, ଯଦି ସେହି ଲୋକର ପୁତ୍ର ଆପଣା ପିତାର କୃତ ପାପସକଳ ଦେଖେ ଓ ଭୟ କରି ସେହିପରି କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ନ କରେ,
15 That has not eaten upon the mountains, neither has lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, has not defiled his neighbour's wife,
ଯେ ପର୍ବତଗଣ ଉପରେ ଭୋଜନ କରି ନାହିଁ କିଅବା ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବଂଶର ପ୍ରତିମାଗଣ ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଷ୍ଟିପାତ କରି ନାହିଁ, ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିବାସୀର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟାକୁ ଭ୍ରଷ୍ଟ କରି ନାହିଁ,
16 Neither has oppressed any, has not withheld the pledge, neither has spoiled by violence, but has given his bread to the hungry, and has covered the naked with a garment,
କିଅବା କାହାରି ପ୍ରତି ଅନ୍ୟାୟ କରି ନାହିଁ, କୌଣସି ବନ୍ଧକି ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରି ନାହିଁ, କିଅବା ଦୌରାତ୍ମ୍ୟ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଅପହରଣ କରି ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର କ୍ଷୁଧିତକୁ ଆପଣା ଭକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦେଇଅଛି ଓ ଉଲଙ୍ଗକୁ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ପିନ୍ଧାଇଅଛି,
17 That has taken off his hand from the poor, that has not received interest nor increase, has executed my judgments, has walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.
ଯେ ଦରିଦ୍ର ପ୍ରତି ଉପଦ୍ରବରୁ ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତ ଫେରାଇଅଛି, ସୁଧ କି ବୃଦ୍ଧି ଗ୍ରହଣ କରି ନାହିଁ, ଆମ୍ଭର ଶାସନସକଳ ପାଳନ କରିଅଛି, ଆମ୍ଭ ବିଧି ଅନୁଯାୟୀ ଆଚରଣ କରିଅଛି; ସେ ଆପଣା ପିତାର ଅଧର୍ମ ସକାଶୁ ମରିବ ନାହିଁ, ସେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ବଞ୍ଚିବ।
18 As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he shall die in his iniquity.
ମାତ୍ର ତାହାର ପିତା ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦୟ ଭାବରେ ଉପଦ୍ରବ କଲା, ଦୌରାତ୍ମ୍ୟ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆପଣା ଭ୍ରାତାର ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ଅପହରଣ କଲା ଓ ଆପଣା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଅନୁଚିତ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କଲା, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ଦେଖ, ସେ ଆପଣା ଅଧର୍ମରେ ମରିବ।
19 Yet say all of you, Why? does not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son has done that which is lawful and right, and has kept all my statutes, and has done them, he shall surely live.
ତଥାପି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କହୁଅଛ, କାହିଁକି ପୁତ୍ର ପିତାର ଅଧର୍ମର ଭାର ବହେ ନାହିଁ? ପୁତ୍ର ଯଦି ନ୍ୟାୟ ଓ ଧର୍ମାଚରଣ କରିଅଛି, ଆମ୍ଭର ବିଧିସକଳ ରକ୍ଷା କରି ପାଳନ କରିଅଛି, ତେବେ ସେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ବଞ୍ଚିବ।
20 The soul that sins, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
ଯେଉଁ ପ୍ରାଣୀ ପାପ କରେ, ସେହି ମରିବ; ପୁତ୍ର ପିତାର ଅଧର୍ମର ଭାର ବହିବ ନାହିଁ କିଅବା ପିତା ପୁତ୍ରର ଅଧର୍ମର ଭାର ବହିବ ନାହିଁ; ଧାର୍ମିକର ଧାର୍ମିକତା ତାହାରି ଉପରେ ବର୍ତ୍ତିବ ଓ ଦୁଷ୍ଟର ଦୁଷ୍ଟତା ତାହାରି ଉପରେ ବର୍ତ୍ତିବ।
21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he has committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
ମାତ୍ର ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଯଦି ଆପଣାର କୃତ ସକଳ ପାପରୁ ଫେରେ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭର ବିଧିସକଳ ପାଳନ କରେ, ପୁଣି, ନ୍ୟାୟ ଓ ଧର୍ମାଚରଣ କରେ, ତେବେ ସେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ବଞ୍ଚିବ, ସେ ମରିବ ନାହିଁ।
22 All his transgressions that he has committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he has done he shall live.
ତାହାର କୃତ କୌଣସି ଅପରାଧ ତାହା ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ସ୍ମରଣ କରାଯିବ ନାହିଁ; ସେ ଯେଉଁ ଧର୍ମାଚରଣ କରିଅଛି, ତଦ୍ଦ୍ୱାରା ବଞ୍ଚିବ।
23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? says the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
ପ୍ରଭୁ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଦୁଷ୍ଟର ମରଣରେ କି ଆମ୍ଭର କିଛି ସନ୍ତୋଷ ଅଛି? ବରଂ ସେ ଆପଣା କୁପଥରୁ ଫେରି ବଞ୍ଚୁ, ଏଥିରେ କି ଆମ୍ଭର ସନ୍ତୋଷ ନାହିଁ?
24 But when the righteous turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All his righteousness that he has done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them shall he die.
ମାତ୍ର ଧାର୍ମିକ ଲୋକ ଯଦି ଆପଣା ଧାର୍ମିକତାରୁ ଫେରି ଅଧର୍ମ କରେ ଓ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକର କୃତ ସକଳ ଘୃଣାଯୋଗ୍ୟ କ୍ରିୟାନୁଯାୟୀ ଆଚରଣ କରେ, ତେବେ ସେ କି ବଞ୍ଚିବ? ତାହାର କୃତ କୌଣସି ଧର୍ମକର୍ମ ସ୍ମରଣ କରାଯିବ ନାହିଁ; ସେ ଯେଉଁ ସତ୍ୟ-ଲଙ୍ଘନ କରିଅଛି, ସେହି ସତ୍ୟ-ଲଙ୍ଘନରେ ଓ ସେ ଯେଉଁ ପାପ କରିଅଛି, ତାହାର ସେହି ପାପରେ ସେ ମରିବ।
25 Yet all of you say, The way of the LORD is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
ତଥାପି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କହୁଅଛ, ‘ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ପଥ ସରଳ ନୁହେଁ।’ ହେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବଂଶ, ଏବେ ଶୁଣ; ଆମ୍ଭର ପଥ କି ସରଳ ନୁହେଁ? ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପଥ କି ଅସରଳ ନୁହେଁ?
26 When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and dies in them; for his iniquity that he has done shall he die.
ଧାର୍ମିକ ଲୋକ ଯେତେବେଳେ ଆପଣା ଧାର୍ମିକତାରୁ ଫେରି ଅଧର୍ମ କରେ ଓ ତହିଁରେ ମରେ, ସେତେବେଳେ ସେ ଯେଉଁ ଅଧର୍ମ କରିଅଛି, ତହିଁରେ ହିଁ ମରିବ।
27 Again, when the wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
ପୁନର୍ବାର ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକ ଯେତେବେଳେ ଆପଣା କୃତ ଦୁଷ୍ଟତାରୁ ଫେରେ, ଆଉ ନ୍ୟାୟ ଓ ଧର୍ମାଚରଣ କରେ, ସେତେବେଳେ ସେ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରାଣ ଜୀବିତ ରକ୍ଷା କରିବ।
28 Because he considers, and turns away from all his transgressions that he has committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
ସେ ବିବେଚନା କରେ ଓ ଆପଣା କୃତ ସମସ୍ତ ଅପରାଧରୁ ଫେରେ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ସେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ବଞ୍ଚିବ, ସେ ମରିବ ନାହିଁ।
29 Yet says the house of Israel, The way of the LORD is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
ତଥାପି ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବଂଶ କହନ୍ତି, ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ପଥ ସରଳ ନୁହେଁ? ହେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବଂଶ, ଆମ୍ଭର ପଥ କି ସରଳ ନୁହେଁ? ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପଥ କି ଅସରଳ ନୁହେଁ?
30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, says the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
ଏଥିପାଇଁ ହେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବଂଶ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକକୁ ତାହାର ଆଚାର ବ୍ୟବହାରାନୁସାରେ ବିଚାର କରିବା, ଏହା ପ୍ରଭୁ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି। ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଫେର, ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ ଅପରାଧରୁ ବିମୁଖ ହୁଅ; ତହିଁରେ ଅଧର୍ମ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ବିନାଶଜନକ ନୋହିବ।
31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby all of you have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will all of you die, O house of Israel?
ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କର କୃତ ସମସ୍ତ ଅପରାଧ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଦୂର କରିଦିଅ ଓ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ନୂତନ ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ଓ ନୂତନ ଆତ୍ମା ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କର; କାରଣ ହେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବଂଶ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କାହିଁକି ମରିବ?
32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dies, says the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live all of you.
ଯେହେତୁ ଯେ ମରେ, ତାହାର ମରଣରେ ଆମ୍ଭର କିଛି ସନ୍ତୋଷ ନାହିଁ, ଏହା ପ୍ରଭୁ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି; ଏଥିପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଫେରି ବଞ୍ଚ।”
