< 2 Kings 9 >

1 And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up your loins, and take this box of oil in your hand, and go to Ramothgilead:
Pea naʻe ui mai ʻe ʻIlaisa ha tokotaha ʻi he fānau ʻae kau palōfita, mo ne pehē kiate ia, “Nonoʻo ho noʻotanga vala, mo ke ʻave ʻi ho nima ʻae puha ni ʻoe lolo, pea ke ʻalu ki Lemoti-Kiliati:
2 And when you come thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;
Pea ʻoka ke ka hoko atu ki ai, ke ke kumi kia Sehu ko e foha ʻo Sihosafate ko e foha ʻo Nimisi, pea ke hū atu, pea ke pule ke ne tuʻu hake mei he haʻohaʻonga ʻo hono kāinga, pea ke ʻave ia ki ha loki ʻi loto fale;
3 Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus says the LORD, I have anointed you king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.
Pea ke toki toʻo ʻae puha lolo, mo ke lilingi ki hono ʻulu, mo ke pehē, ‘ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, Kuo u fakanofo koe ko e tuʻi ki ʻIsileli.’ Pea hili ia ke ke fakaava ʻae matapā, pea ke hola, pea ʻoua naʻa ke fakatuotuai.”
4 So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramothgilead.
Ko ia naʻe ʻalu ʻae tangata talavou, ʻio, ʻae palōfita talavou, ki Lemoti-Kiliati.
5 And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to you, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To you, O captain.
Pea ʻi heʻene hoko ange, vakai, naʻe nonofo fakataha ʻae ngaahi ʻeiki ʻoe kautau; pea naʻe pehē ʻe ia, “Kuo u haʻu mo ha fekau kiate koe, ʻe ʻeiki.” Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Sehu, “Kia hai ʻiate kimautolu kotoa pē?” Pea naʻa ne pehē, “Kiate koe, ʻe ʻeiki.”
6 And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed you king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel.
Pea naʻa ne tuʻu hake, mo ne hū atu ai ki loto fale; pea naʻa ne lilingi ʻae lolo ki hono ʻulu, mo ne pehē kiate ia, “ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻIsileli, ‘Kuo u fakanofo koe ko e tuʻi ke pule ki he kakai ʻa Sihova, ʻio, ki ʻIsileli.
7 And you shall strike the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.
Pea te ke taaʻi ʻae fale ʻo ʻEhapi ko hoʻo ʻeiki, koeʻuhi ke u fai totongi koeʻuhi ko e toto ʻo ʻeku kau tamaioʻeiki ko e kau palōfita, pea mo e toto ʻoe kau tamaioʻeiki kotoa pē ʻa Sihova, ʻi he nima ʻo Sisipeli.
8 For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisses against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:
Koeʻuhi ʻe ʻauha ʻae fale kotoa ʻo ʻEhapi: pea te u motuhi meia ʻEhapi ʻae kau tangata kotoa pē pea mo ia kotoa pē ʻoku tāpuni mo toe ʻi ʻIsileli:
9 And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:
Pea te u ngaohi ke tatau ʻae fale ʻo ʻEhapi mo e fale ʻo Selopoami ko e foha ʻo Nipati, pea ke tatau mo e fale ʻo Paʻasa ko e foha ʻo ʻAhisa:
10 And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.
Pea ʻe keina ʻa Sisipeli ʻe he fanga kulī ʻi he potu ʻo Sesilili, pea ʻe ʻikai tanu ia ʻe ha tokotaha.’” Pea naʻa ne toʻo ʻae matapā mo ne hola.
11 Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to you? And he said unto them, All of you know the man, and his communication.
Hili ia naʻe hū mai kituʻa ʻa Sehu ki he kau tamaioʻeiki ʻa ʻene ʻeiki: pea naʻe pehē ʻe he tokotaha kiate ia, “ʻOku lelei kotoa pē? Ko e hā naʻe haʻu ai ʻae siana faha ni kiate koe?” Pea naʻa ne pehē kiate kinautolu, “ʻOku mou ʻilo pe ʻae tangata, pea mo ʻene lau.”
12 And they said, It is false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spoke he to me, saying, Thus says the LORD, I have anointed you king over Israel.
Pea naʻa nau pehē, “Ko e loi; ka ke tala mai ni.” Pea naʻa ne pehē, “Naʻe pehē mo pehē ʻa ʻene lea kiate au, ʻo pehē, ‘ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova kuo u fakanofo koe ke ke tuʻi ki ʻIsileli.’”
13 Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.
Pea naʻa nau fai vave ai, pea toʻo taki taha ʻe he tangata ʻa hono kofu, pea ʻai ia ki lalo ʻiate ia ʻi he potu māʻolunga ʻoe hala tuʻunga, pea [naʻa nau ]ifi ʻaki ʻae ngaahi meʻalea, ʻo pehē, “ʻOku tuʻi ʻa Sehu.”
14 So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram had kept Ramothgilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.
Ko ia naʻe te u lapa ʻe Sehu ko e foha ʻo Sihosafate ko e foha ʻo Nimisi kia Solami. (Ka ko eni naʻe maʻu pe ʻe Solami ʻa Lemoti-Kiliati, ʻe ia mo ʻIsileli kātoa, koeʻuhi ko Hasaeli ko e tuʻi ʻo Silia.
15 But king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, If it be your minds, then let none go forth nor escape out of the city to go to tell it in Jezreel.
Ka kuo liliu mai ʻa Solami ki Sesilili ke fakamoʻui ia mei he ngaahi lavea naʻa ne lavea ai ʻi he kakai Silia, ʻi heʻene tau mo Hasaeli ko e tuʻi ʻo Silia.) Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Sehu, “Kapau ko homou loto ia, pea ʻoua naʻa tuku ha taha ke ʻalu atu pe hao mei he kolo ke ʻalu ʻo fakahā ia ʻi Sesilili.”
16 So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah was come down to see Joram.
17 And there stood a watchman on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take an horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?
Pea naʻe tuʻu ʻae tangata leʻo ʻi he fale māʻolunga ʻo Sesilili, pea naʻa ne mamata ki he kau fononga ʻo Sehu ʻi heʻene haʻu, pea naʻa ne pehē, “ʻOku ou sio ki ha fononga.” Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Solami, “Fekau ki ha tangata heka hoosi, ke ʻalu ʻo fakafetaulaki kiate kinautolu,” pea tala ke ne pehē, “Ko e lelei pe ʻikai?”
18 So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus says the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said, What have you to do with peace? turn you behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he comes not again.
Ko ia naʻe ʻalu ʻae tokotaha naʻe heka hoosi ke fetaulaki mo ia, pea naʻa ne pehē, “ʻOku pehē mai ʻe he tuʻi, pe ko e lelei pe ʻikai?” Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Sehu, “Ko e hā ʻa hoʻo kau ʻaʻau ki he lelei? Foki atu ki hoku tuʻa. Pea naʻe fakahā ʻe he tangata leʻo, ʻo pehē, “Naʻe hokoange ʻae tangata fekau kiate kinautolu ka ʻoku ʻikai toe foki mai ia.”
19 Then he sent out a second on horseback, which came to them, and said, Thus says the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What have you to do with peace? turn you behind me.
Pea naʻa ne toki fekau atu ha tokotaha kehe ke heka hoosi, pea naʻa ne hokoange kiate kinautolu, mo ne pehē, “ʻOku pehē mai ʻe he tuʻi, pe ko e lelei pe ʻikai?” Pea naʻe pehēange ʻe Sehu, “Ko e hā ʻa hoʻo kau ʻaʻau ki he lelei? ʻAlu koe ki hoku tuʻa.”
20 And the watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and comes not again: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he drives furiously.
Pea naʻe fakahā ʻe he tangata leʻo, ʻo pehē, “Naʻa ne hoko atu kiate kinautolu, ka ʻoku ʻikai te ne toe foki mai: pea ko e angi ki [he manu ]ʻoku hangē ko e ʻalu ʻa Sehu ko e foha ʻo Nimisi; he ʻoku ne ʻalu fakavave ʻaupito.”
21 And Joram said, Make ready. And his chariot was made ready. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out against Jehu, and met him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Solami, “Mou teuteu.” Pea naʻe teuteu ʻa hono saliote. Pea naʻe ʻalu atu ʻa Solami ko e tuʻi ʻo ʻIsileli mo ʻAhasia ko e tuʻi ʻo Siuta, ko e taki taha ʻi hono saliote, pea naʻa na ʻalu atu ke tali ʻa Sehu, pea naʻa nau fetaulaki mo ia ʻi he ʻapi ʻo Napoti ko e tangata Sesilili.
22 And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of your mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?
Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē, ʻi heʻene mamata ʻe Solami kia Sehu, naʻa ne pehē, “ʻE Sehu, ʻoku lelei pē pe ʻikai?” Pea naʻe pehēange ʻe ia, “ʻO lelei fēfeeʻi ka kuo lahi pehē fau ʻae ngaahi feʻauaki mo e ngaahi ngāue fakatēvolo ʻa hoʻo faʻē ko Sisipeli?”
23 And Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah.
Pea naʻe fakatafoki ʻae nima ʻo Solami, pea naʻa ne hola, ʻo ne pehē kia ʻAhasia, “ʻE ʻAhasia kuo fai ʻae lapa.”
24 And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and stroke Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.
Pea naʻe tekeʻi ʻe Sehu ʻae kaufana ʻaki ʻa ʻene mālohi kātoa, pea naʻa ne fanaʻi ʻa Solami ʻi hono vahaʻa nima, pea naʻe ʻasi atu ʻae ngahau mei hono mafu, pea naʻa ne tō hifo ʻi hono saliote.
25 Then said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, Take up, and cast him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how that, when I and you rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid this burden upon him;
Pea naʻe toki pehē ʻe [Sehu ]kia Pitikali ko ʻene ʻeikitau, “Toʻo hake mo lī ia ki he potu ʻi he ngoue ʻoe tautea ni kiate ia;
26 Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, says the LORD; and I will requite you in this portion, says the LORD. Now therefore take and cast him into the portion of ground, according to the word of the LORD.
‘ko e moʻoni kuo u mamata ʻaneafi ki he toto ʻo Napoti mo e toto ʻo hono ngaahi foha,’ ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova; ki he potu na, ʻo fakatatau mo e folofola ʻa Sihova.”
27 But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Strike him also in the chariot. And they did so at the going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.
28 And his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in the city of David.
Pea naʻe ʻave ia ʻi ha saliote ki Selūsalema ʻe heʻene kau tamaioʻeiki, pea naʻe fai hono putu ki he fonualoto ʻo ʻene ngaahi tamai ʻi he Kolo ʻo Tevita.
29 And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.
Pea ʻi hono hongofulu ma taha ʻoe taʻu ʻa Solami ko e foha ʻo ʻEhapi naʻe kamata pule ʻa ʻAhasia ki Siuta.
30 And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.
Pea ʻi heʻene hoko mai ʻa Sehu ki Sesilili, naʻe fanongo ʻa Sisipeli ki ai; pea naʻa ne ʻai ʻae loa ki hono mata, mo ne ʻai ʻae teunga ki hono ʻulu, pea sio ia mei he matapā sioʻata.
31 And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master?
Pea feʻunga mo ʻene hū mai ʻa Sehu ʻi he matapā ʻoe kolo, naʻa ne pehē, “Naʻe lelei koā ʻa Simili, ʻaia naʻa ne fakapoongi ʻa ʻene ʻeiki?”
32 And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.
Pea naʻe hanga hake ʻe ia ʻa hono mata ki he matapā sioʻata, mo ne pehē, “Ko hai ʻoku kau kiate au? Ko hai?” Pea naʻe sio mai mei he matapā sioʻata ha kau tangata tali fekau ʻe toko ua pe toko tolu.
33 And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe ia, “Laku hifo ia.” Ko ia naʻa nau laku ia ki lalo: pea naʻe puna ʻa hono toto ki he ʻā, pea ki he fanga hoosi: pea naʻa ne malaki hifo ia ʻi hono lalo vaʻe.
34 And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king's daughter.
Pea ʻi heʻene hū mai ki loto fale, naʻa ne kai mo inu, mo ne pehē, “Mou ʻalu, ʻo sio eni ki he fefine malaʻia ni, pea ʻave ʻo tanu ia; he ko e ʻofefine ia ʻo ha tuʻi.”
35 And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.
Pea naʻa nau ʻalu atu ke fai hono tanu: ka naʻe ʻikai te nau ʻilo hano potu ka ko hono ʻulupoko pe, mo e foʻi vaʻe, pea mo e ʻaofi nima.
36 Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the LORD, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:
Ko ia naʻa nau toe omi ai ʻo fakahā kiate ia. Pea naʻe pehē ʻe ia, “Ko eni ia ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova, ʻaia naʻa ne folofolaʻaki ʻi heʻene tamaioʻeiki ko ʻIlaisiā ko e tangata Tisipa, ʻo pehē, ‘ʻI he potu [fonua ]ʻo Sesilili ʻe keina ʻe he fanga kulī ʻae kakano ʻo Sisipeli.
37 And the carcass of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.
Pea ʻe tatau ʻae ʻangaʻanga ʻo Sisipeli mo e kinohaʻa ʻi he funga fonua ʻi he potu ʻo Sesilili; pea ʻe ʻikai ai te nau faʻa pehē, Ko Sisipeli eni.’”
