2 Chronicles 8
1 And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, wherein Solomon had built the house of the LORD, and his own house,
૧સુલેમાનને ઈશ્વરનું સભાસ્થાન અને પોતાનો રાજમહેલ બાંધતા વીસ વર્ષ લાગ્યા હતા,
2 That the cities which Huram had restored to Solomon, Solomon built them, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.
૨રાજા હીરામે સુલેમાનને જે નગરો આપ્યાં હતાં, તે નગરોને સુલેમાને ફરી બાંધ્યાં અને તેણે ઇઝરાયલના લોકોને ત્યાં વસાવ્યા.
3 And Solomon went to Hamathzobah, and prevailed against it.
૩સુલેમાને હમાથ-સોબા પર હુમલો કર્યો અને તેને હરાવ્યું.
4 And he built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the store cities, which he built in Hamath.
૪તેણે અરણ્યમાં આવેલા તાદમોરને ફરીથી બાંધ્યું અને હમાથમાં ભંડારના સર્વ નગરો બાંધ્યા.
5 Also he built Bethhoron the upper, and Bethhoron the nether, fenced cities, with walls, gates, and bars;
૫વળી તેણે ઉપલું બેથ-હોરોન અને નીચલું બેથ-હોરોન પણ બાંધ્યાં અને તેણે સઘળાં નગરોને કોટ, દરવાજા અને સળિયાથી કિલ્લાબંધ કર્યું.
6 And Baalath, and all the store cities that Solomon had, and all the chariot cities, and the cities of the horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and throughout all the land of his dominion.
૬સુલેમાને બાલાથ અને ભંડારના સર્વ નગરો કે જે તેની માલિકીનાં હતાં તે, તેના રથોનાં સર્વ શહેરો, ઘોડેસવારોનાં શહેરો, તેની મોજમજા માટે યરુશાલેમમાં, લબાનોનમાં અને તેના શાસન હેઠળના સર્વ દેશોમાં જે શહેરો બાંધવાનું તેણે ઇચ્છ્યું તે સર્વ તેણે બાંધ્યાં.
7 As for all the people that were left of the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which were not of Israel,
૭હિત્તીઓ, અમોરીઓ, પરિઝીઓ, હિવ્વીઓ અને યબૂસીઓ જેઓ બિન ઇઝરાયલીઓ હતા, તે લોકોમાંના જે સઘળા બાકી રહ્યા હતા,
8 But of their children, who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel consumed not, them did Solomon make to pay tribute until this day.
૮તેઓના વંશજો જેઓ તેઓની પાછળ દેશમાં રહેલા હતા અને ઇઝરાયલ લોકોએ જેઓનો નાશ કર્યો નહોતો, તેઓ પાસે સુલેમાને ભારે મજૂરી કરાવી, જે આજે પણ એ જ મજૂરી કરે છે.
9 But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no servants for his work; but they were men of war, and chief of his captains, and captains of his chariots and horsemen.
૯પણ ઇઝરાયલના લોકો પાસે સુલેમાને ગુલામનું કામ કરાવ્યું નહિ. તેના બદલે તેઓ તેના યોદ્ધા, સેનાપતિઓ, અધિકારીઓ, રથસેનાના તથા ઘોડેસવારોના અધિકારી થયા.
10 And these were the chief of king Solomon's officers, even two hundred and fifty, that bare rule over the people.
૧૦લોકો ઉપર અધિકાર ચલાવનાર, સુલેમાન રાજાના મુખ્ય અધિકારીઓ બસો પચાસ હતા.
11 And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, unto which the ark of the LORD has come.
૧૧સુલેમાન ફારુનની દીકરીને દાઉદનગરમાંથી બહાર તેને માટે બંધાવેલ મહેલમાં લઈ આવ્યો; કેમ કે તેણે કહ્યું, “ઇઝરાયલના રાજા દાઉદના મહેલમાં મારી પત્નીએ રહેવું જોઈએ નહિ, કારણ કે ત્યાં ઈશ્વરનો કરારકોશ આવ્યો હોવાથી તે સ્થાન પવિત્ર છે.”
12 Then Solomon offered burnt offerings unto the LORD on the altar of the LORD, which he had built before the porch,
૧૨ત્યાર બાદ પરસાળની સામે સુલેમાને ઈશ્વરની જે વેદી બાંધી હતી તે વેદી ઉપર તે ઈશ્વરને દહનીયાર્પણો ચઢાવતો હતો.
13 Even after a certain rate every day, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts, three times in the year, even in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles.
૧૩રોજબરોજના કાર્યક્રમ અનુસાર, વિશ્રામવારને દિવસે, ચંદ્રદર્શનને દિવસે, ઠરાવેલા પર્વોના દિવસે તથા વર્ષમાં ત્રણ વાર; એટલે કે બેખમીરી રોટલીના પર્વમાં, અઠવાડિયાનાં પર્વમાં, અને માંડવાપર્વોમાં તે મૂસાની આજ્ઞા પ્રમાણે અર્પણ કરતો હતો.
14 And he appointed, according to the order of David his father, the courses of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their charges, to praise and minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required: the porters also by their courses at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded.
૧૪દૈનિક કાર્યક્રમ અનુસાર, તેના પિતા દાઉદની વિધિઓ પ્રમાણે, સુલેમાને યાજકોનાં કાર્યો માટે યાજકોની ટોળીને નિયુક્ત કરી, યાજકોની સેવા કરવા માટે અને ઈશ્વરનાં સ્તોત્ર ગાવા માટે લેવીઓને તેઓના કામ પ્રમાણે નિયુકત કર્યા. તેણે દરેક દરવાજે દરવાનોની પણ નિમણૂક કરી, કેમ કે દાઉદે ઈશ્વરના સેવકે, એ આજ્ઞા કરી હતી.
15 And they departed not from the commandment of the king unto the priests and Levites concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures.
૧૫આ લોકો ભંડાર સંબંધી, યાજકો અને લેવીઓને રાજાએ જે આજ્ઞાઓ આપી હતી તેનું તેઓ ઉલ્લંઘન કરતા ન હતા.
16 Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the LORD, and until it was finished. So the house of the LORD was perfected.
૧૬હવે ઈશ્વરના સભાસ્થાનનો પાયો નંખાયો તે દિવસથી માંડીને તેની સમાપ્તિ સુધીનું બધું કામ સુલેમાને પૂર્ણ કર્યુ. આ રીતે, ઈશ્વરના સભાસ્થાનનું કામ સંપૂર્ણ થયું અને તેનો ઉપયોગ કરવાનું શરૂ કરાયું.
17 Then went Solomon to Eziongeber, and to Eloth, at the sea side in the land of Edom.
૧૭પછી સુલેમાન અદોમ દેશમાં દરિયાકિનારે આવેલા એસ્યોન-ગેબેર અને એલોથમાં ગયો.
18 And Huram sent him by the hands of his servants ships, and servants that had knowledge of the sea; and they went with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and took thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought them to king Solomon.
૧૮હીરામે દરિયાના જાણકાર અધિકારીઓ મારફતે તેને વહાણો મોકલી આપ્યાં; તેઓ સુલેમાનના માણસો સાથે ઓફીર ગયા. અને ત્યાંથી તેઓ ચારસો પચાસ તાલંત સોનું સુલેમાન રાજા માટે લાવ્યા.
