1 Chronicles 11

1 Then all Israel gathered themselves to David unto Hebron, saying, Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.

Entonces todo Israel se juntó a David en Hebrón, diciendo: He aquí nosotros somos tu hueso y tu carne.

2 And moreover in time past, even when Saul was king, you were he that led out and brought in Israel: and the LORD your God said unto you, You shall feed my people Israel, and you shall be ruler over my people Israel.

Y además de esto ayer y anteayer, aun mientras Saúl reinaba, tú sacabas y metías a Israel. También el SEÑOR tu Dios te ha dicho: Tú apacentarás mi pueblo Israel, y tú serás príncipe sobre Israel mi pueblo.

3 Therefore came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the LORD by Samuel.

Y vinieron todos los ancianos de Israel al rey en Hebrón, y David hizo con ellos alianza delante del SEÑOR; y ungieron a David por rey sobre Israel, conforme a la palabra del SEÑOR por mano de Samuel.

4 And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; where the Jebusites were, the inhabitants of the land.

Entonces se fue David con todo Israel a Jerusalén, la cual es Jebus; porque allí el jebuseo era habitador de aquella tierra.

5 And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, You shall not come here. Nevertheless David took the castle of Zion, which is the city of David.

Y los moradores de Jebus dijeron a David: No entrarás acá. Mas David tomó la fortaleza de Sion, que es la ciudad de David.

6 And David said, Whosoever strikes the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain. So Joab the son of Zeruiah went first up, and was chief.

Y David dijo: El que primero hiriere al jebuseo, será cabeza y príncipe. Entonces Joab hijo de Sarvia subió el primero, y fue hecho príncipe.

7 And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David.

Y David habitó en la fortaleza, y por esto la llamaron la ciudad de David.

8 And he built the city round about, even from Millo round about: and Joab repaired the rest of the city.

Y edificó la ciudad alrededor, desde Millo hasta la cerca; y Joab edificó el resto de la ciudad.

9 So David waxed greater and greater: for the LORD of hosts was with him.

Y David iba adelantando y creciendo, y el SEÑOR de los ejércitos era con él.

10 These also are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom, and with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the LORD concerning Israel.

Estos son los capitanes de los valientes que David tuvo, y los que le ayudaron en su reino, con todo Israel, para hacerle rey sobre Israel, conforme a la palabra del SEÑOR.

11 And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had; Jashobeam, an Hachmonite, the chief of the captains: he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain by him at the same.

Y este es el número de los valientes que David tuvo: Jasobeam hijo de Hacmoni, príncipe de los treinta, el cual blandió su lanza una vez contra trescientos, a los cuales mató.

12 And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men.

Tras de éste fue Eleazar hijo de Dodo, ahohíta, el cual era de los tres valientes.

13 He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where was a parcel of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.

Este estuvo con David en Pasdamim, estando allí juntos en batalla los filisteos; y había allí una heredad de tierra llena de cebada, y huyendo el pueblo delante de los filisteos,

14 And they set themselves in the midst of that parcel, and delivered it, and slew the Philistines; and the LORD saved them by a great deliverance.

se pusieron ellos en medio del cultivo, y la defendieron, y vencieron a los filisteos; y los salvó el SEÑOR de gran salud.

15 Now three of the thirty captains went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines encamped in the valley of Rephaim.

Y tres de los treinta principales descendieron a la peña a David, a la cueva de Adulam, estando el campamento de los filisteos en el valle de Rafaim.

16 And David was then in the hold, and the Philistines' garrison was then at Bethlehem.

Y David estaba entonces en la fortaleza, y la guarnición de filisteos estaba en Belén.

17 And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, that is at the gate!

David deseó entonces, y dijo: ¡Quién me diera a beber de las aguas del pozo de Belén, que está a la puerta!

18 And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to the LORD.

Y aquellos tres rompieron por el campamento de los filisteos, y sacaron agua del pozo de Belén, que está a la puerta, y tomaron y la trajeron a David; mas él no la quiso beber, sino que la derramó al SEÑOR, y dijo:

19 And said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three might.

Guárdeme mi Dios de hacer esto. ¿Había yo de beber la sangre de estos varones con sus vidas, que con peligro de sus vidas la han traído? Y no la quiso beber. Esto hicieron aquellos tres valientes.

20 And Abishai the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three: for lifting up his spear against three hundred, he slew them, and had a name among the three.

Y Abisai, hermano de Joab, era cabeza de los tres, el cual blandió su lanza sobre trescientos, a los cuales hirió; y fue entre los tres nombrado.

21 Of the three, he was more honourable than the two; for he was their captain: nevertheless he attained not to the first three.

Y fue el más ilustre de los tres en el segundo ternario, y fue príncipe de ellos; mas no llegó a los tres primeros.

22 Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done many acts; he slew two lionlike men of Moab: also he went down and slew a lion in a pit in a snowy day.

Benaía hijo de Joiada, hijo de varón de esfuerzo, de grandes hechos, de Cabseel; él venció los dos leones de Moab; también descendió, e hirió un león en mitad de un foso en tiempo de nieve.

23 And he slew an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.

El mismo venció a un egipcio, hombre de cinco codos de estatura; y el egipcio traía una lanza como un rodillo de un telar; mas él descendió a él con un bastón, y arrebató al egipcio la lanza de la mano, y lo mató con su misma lanza.

24 These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among the three mighty men.

Esto hizo Benaía hijo de Joiada, y fue nombrado entre los tres valientes.

25 Behold, he was honourable among the thirty, but attained not to the first three: and David set him over his guard.

Y fue el más honrado de los treinta, mas no llegó a los tres primeros. A éste puso David en su consejo.

26 Also the valiant men of the armies were, Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,

Y los valientes de los ejércitos: Asael hermano de Joab, y Elhanan hijo de Dodo de Belén;

27 Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite,

Samot de Arori, Heles pelonita;

28 Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abiezer the Antothite,

Ira hijo de Iques tecoíta, Abiezer anatotita;

29 Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite,

Sibecai husatita, Ilai ahohíta;

30 Maharai the Netophathite, Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite,

Maharai netofatita, Heled hijo de Baana netofatita;

31 Ithai the son of Ribai of Gibeah, that pertained to the children of Benjamin, Benaiah the Pirathonite,

Itai hijo de Ribai de Gabaa de los hijos de Benjamín, Benaía piratonita;

32 Hurai of the brooks of Gaash, Abiel the Arbathite,

Hurai del río Gaas, Abiel arbatita;

33 Azmaveth the Baharumite, Eliahba the Shaalbonite,

34 The sons of Hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shage the Hararite,

los hijos de Hasem gizonita, Jonatán hijo de Sage ararita;

35 Ahiam the son of Sacar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur,

Ahíam hijo de Sacar ararita, Elifal hijo de Ur;

36 Hepher the Mecherathite, Ahijah the Pelonite,

Hefer mequeratita, Ahías pelonita;

37 Hezro the Carmelite, Naarai the son of Ezbai,

Hezro carmelita, Naarai hijo de Ezbai;

38 Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibhar the son of Haggeri,

Joel hermano de Natán, Mibhar hijo de Hagrai;

39 Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Berothite, the armour bearer of Joab the son of Zeruiah,

Selec amonita, Naharai beerotita, escudero de Joab hijo de Sarvia;

40 Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite,

Ira itrita, Gareb itrita;

41 Uriah the Hittite, Zabad the son of Ahlai,

Urías heteo, Zabad hijo de Ahlai;

42 Adina the son of Shiza the Reubenite, a captain of the Reubenites, and thirty with him,

Adina hijo de Siza rubenita, príncipe de los rubenitas, y con él treinta;

43 Hanan the son of Maachah, and Joshaphat the Mithnite,

Hanán hijo de Maaca, y Josafat mitnita;

44 Uzzia the Ashterathite, Shama and Jehiel the sons of Hothan the Aroerite,

Uzías astarotita, Sama y Jehiel hijos de Hotam aroerita;

45 Jediael the son of Shimri, and Joha his brother, the Tizite,

Jediael hijo de Simri, y Joha su hermano, tizita;

46 Eliel the Mahavite, and Jeribai, and Joshaviah, the sons of Elnaam, and Ithmah the Moabite,

Eliel de Mahavi, Jerebai y Josavía hijos de Elnaam, e Itma moabita;

47 Eliel, and Obed, and Jasiel the Mesobaite.

Eliel, y Obed, y Jaasiel de Mesobia.
