Psalms 94
1 O Yhwh God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.
Der Rache Gott, Jehovah, Gott der Rache, strahle hervor!
2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.
Erhebe Dich, Richter der Erde, Vergeltung gib zurück den Hochmütigen.
3 Yhwh, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?
Wie lange sollen die Ungerechten, Jehovah, wie lange die Ungerechten jauchzen?
4 How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?
Sie lassen es hervorquellen, reden frech, von sich sprechen alle, die Unrecht tun.
5 They break in pieces thy people, O Yhwh, and afflict thine heritage.
Dein Volk zerstoßen sie, Jehovah, und bedrücken Dein Erbe.
6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
Die Witwe und den Fremdling würgen sie und morden Waisen,
7 Yet they say, Yah shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.
Und sprechen: Jah sieht es nicht, und Jakobs Gott merkt es nicht.
8 Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?
Merkt auf, ihr Unvernünftigen im Volk, und wann wollt ihr Narren klug werden?
9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
Er, Der das Ohr gepflanzt, sollte Er nicht hören, Der das Auge bildete, nichts erblicken?
10 He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?
Der Völkerschaften züchtigt, sollte Er nicht rügen, Er, Der den Menschen Erkenntnis lehrt?
11 Yhwh knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
Jehovah kennt die Gedanken des Menschen, daß sie nichtig sind.
12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Yah, and teachest him out of thy law;
Selig der Mann, den Du, Jah, züchtigst, und den aus Deinem Gesetz Du lehrst.
13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
Ihn zu beruhigen vor bösen Tagen, bis der Graben für den Ungerechten gegraben ist.
14 For Yhwh will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
Denn Jehovah gibt Sein Volk nicht dahin und verläßt Sein Erbe nicht.
15 But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
Denn zur Gerechtigkeit kehrt das Gericht zurück, und ihm folgen alle, die geraden Herzens sind.
16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
Wer steht für mich wider die Bösen auf? Wer stellt sich für mich wider die, so Unrecht tun?
17 Unless Yhwh had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
Wäre nicht Jehovah mein Beistand, um ein Weniges, so wohnte meine Seele in der Stille.
18 When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Yhwh, held me up.
Spreche ich: Es wankt mein Fuß, so unterstützt, Jehovah, Deine Barmherzigkeit mich.
19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
Wenn viel Bekümmernis ist in meinem Inneren, so ergötzen meine Seele Deine Tröstungen.
20 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?
Ist Dir verbündet der Thron des Unheils, der Mühsal bildet wider die Satzung?
21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.
Sie rotten sich zusammen wider des Gerechten Seele, und verdammen unschuldiges Blut.
22 But Yhwh is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.
Doch ist Jehovah meine Burgfeste geworden und mein Gott der Fels meiner Zuversicht.
23 And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, Yhwh our God shall cut them off.
Ihr Unrecht gib ihnen zurück, und in ihrer Bosheit vertilge sie, es vertilge sie Jehovah, unser Gott.
