Deuteronomy 16

1 Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto Yhwh thy God: for in the month of Abib Yhwh thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.

૧આબીબ માસ ધ્યાન રાખીને યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર પ્રત્યે પાસ્ખાપર્વ પાળો; કેમ કે આબીબ માસમાં યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર તમને રાત્રે મિસરમાંથી બહાર લઈ આવ્યા.

2 Thou shalt therefore sacrifice the passover unto Yhwh thy God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which Yhwh shall choose to place his name there.

૨અને પોતાનું નામ રાખવા માટે યહોવાહ જે સ્થળ પસંદ કરે ત્યાં ઘેટાંબકરાંનો કે અન્ય જાનવરોનો પાસ્ખાયજ્ઞ તું યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર પ્રત્યે કર.

3 Thou shalt eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction; for thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life.

૩તમારે તેની સાથે ખમીરી રોટલી ન ખાવી. સાત દિવસ સુધી તમારે તેની સાથે ખમીર વગરની એટલે દુઃખની રોટલી ખાવી કારણ કે, તમે મિસર દેશમાંથી ઉતાવળે નીકળ્યા હતા. અને આ રીતે તમે મિસરમાંથી જે રીતે બહાર આવ્યા તે દિવસ આખા જીવનભર યાદ રહે.

4 And there shall be no leavened bread seen with thee in all thy coast seven days; neither shall there any thing of the flesh, which thou sacrificedst the first day at even, remain all night until the morning.

૪સાત દિવસ સુધી તમારી સર્વ સરહદોમાં તમારી મધ્યે ખમીર જોવામાં આવે નહિ. તેમ જ પહેલે દિવસે સાંજે વધેલા બલિદાનનું થોડું પણ માંસ સવાર સુધી રહેવા દેવું નહિ.

5 Thou mayest not sacrifice the passover within any of thy gates, which Yhwh thy God giveth thee:

૫જે નગરની ભાગળ યહોવાહ તારા ઈશ્વર તમને આપે તેમાંની કોઈ પણ ભાગળમાં તારે પાસ્ખાયજ્ઞ કરવું નહિ.

6 But at the place which Yhwh thy God shall choose to place his name in, there thou shalt sacrifice the passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt.

૬પરંતુ, યહોવાહ તારા ઈશ્વર પોતાના પવિત્રસ્થાન માટે જે જગ્યા પસંદ કરે ત્યાં સાંજે સૂર્યાસ્ત સમયે એટલે જે વર્ષે તમે મિસરમાંથી બહાર આવ્યા તે સમયે, પાસ્ખાયજ્ઞ કરો.

7 And thou shalt roast and eat it in the place which Yhwh thy God shall choose: and thou shalt turn in the morning, and go unto thy tents.

૭યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરે પસંદ કરેલી જગાએ તમારે તે શેકીને ખાવું; સવારમાં પાછા પોતાના તંબુઓમાં જવું.

8 Six days thou shalt eat unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to Yhwh thy God: thou shalt do no work therein.

૮છ દિવસ સુધી તમારે બેખમીરી રોટલી ખાવી, સાતમા દિવસે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર માટે પવિત્ર સભા કરવી, તે દિવસે તમારે કોઈ કામ કરવું નહિ.

9 Seven weeks shalt thou number unto thee: begin to number the seven weeks from such time as thou beginnest to put the sickle to the grain.

૯તમે તમારે પોતાને માટે સાત અઠવાડિયાં ગણો; ઊભા પાકને દાતરડું લગાવાનું શરૂઆત કરો તે સમયથી સાત અઠવાડિયાં ગણવાં.

10 And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto Yhwh thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give unto the Lord thy God, according as Yhwh thy God hath blessed thee:

૧૦તમે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર પ્રત્યે અઠવાડિયાનાં પર્વ ઉજવો, યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરે આપેલા આશીર્વાદ પ્રમાણે તમારા હાથનાં ઐચ્છિકાર્પણ આપો.

11 And thou shalt rejoice before Yhwh thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which Yhwh thy God hath chosen to place his name there.

૧૧યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરે પોતાના પવિત્રસ્થાન માટે પસંદ કરેલી જગ્યાએ તમે, તમારા સંતાન, તમારી દીકરી, તમારા દાસ, તમારી દાસીઓ, નગરની ભાગળમાં રહેતા લેવીઓ, તમારી મધ્યે રહેતા વિદેશીઓ, અનાથો તથા તમારી મધ્યે રહેતી વિધવાઓએ બધાએ મળીને યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરની આગળ આનંદ કરવો.

12 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt: and thou shalt observe and do these statutes.

૧૨તમે મિસરમાં ગુલામ હતા તે યાદ રાખીને તમે આ કાનૂનો પાળો અને તેને અમલમાં મૂકો.

13 Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that thou hast gathered in thy threshingfloor and thy wine:

૧૩તમારા ખળામાંથી તથા તમારા દ્રાક્ષકુંડમાંથી ઊપજ ભેગી કરી લો પછી તમે સાત દિવસ સુધી માંડવાપર્વ ઉજવો.

14 And thou shalt rejoice in thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates.

૧૪તમારાં પર્વ દરમિયાન તમે, તમારા સંતાન, તમારી દીકરી, તમારા દાસ, તમારી દાસી, લેવી, નગરની ભાગળમાં રહેતા પરદેશીઓ, અનાથો તથા વિધવાઓ આનંદ કરો.

15 Seven days shalt thou keep a solemn feast unto Yhwh thy God in the place which Yhwh shall choose: because Yhwh thy God shall bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the works of thine hands, therefore thou shalt surely rejoice.

૧૫તમે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરના માટે યહોવાહે પસંદ કરેલા સ્થાને સાત દિવસ સુધી પર્વ ઉજવો, કેમ કે યહોવાહે તમારી બધી ઉપજમાં, તમારા હાથનાં સર્વ કામોમાં તમને આશીર્વાદ આપશે, તમે પુષ્કળ આનંદ પામશો.

16 Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before Yhwh thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before Yhwh empty:

૧૬તમારા બધા પુરુષો એ જે જગ્યા યહોવાહ પસંદ કરે ત્યાં વર્ષમાં ત્રણ વાર યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરની આગળ ઉપસ્થિત થવું. બેખમીરી રોટલીના પર્વના પ્રસંગે અઠવાડિયાનાં પર્વના પ્રસંગે અને માંડવાપર્વના પ્રસંગે યહોવાહ આગળ ખાલી હાથે આવવું નહિ.

17 Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of Yhwh thy God which he hath given thee.

૧૭પરંતુ, દરેક માણસે પોતાની યથાશક્તિ પ્રમાણે યહોવાહની આજ્ઞા પાળીને યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરે આપેલા આશીર્વાદ પ્રમાણે તમારે આપવું.

18 Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates, which Yhwh thy God giveth thee, throughout thy tribes: and they shall judge the people with just judgment.

૧૮જે નગરની ભાગળ યહોવાહ તારા ઈશ્વર તમને આપે તેમાં તમે તમારા માટે તમારા કુળોમાંથી ન્યાયાધીશો તથા બીજા અધિકારીઓની નિમણૂક કરો, તેઓ લોકોનો ઉચિત ન્યાય કરશે.

19 Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.

૧૯તમે ન્યાય માટે બળજબરી ન કરો, પક્ષપાત ન કર, લાંચ ન લો, કેમ કે લાંચ જ્ઞાની આંખોને અંધ બનાવી દે છે અને ન્યાયી માણસોના વચનો ખોટા કરી નાખે છે.

20 That which is altogether just shalt thou follow, that thou mayest live, and inherit the land which Yhwh thy God giveth thee.

૨૦તમે ન્યાયનું અનુસરણ કરો, કે જેથી તમે જીવતા રહો અને જે દેશ યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર તમને આપે છે તેનો વારસો પ્રાપ્ત કરો.

21 Thou shalt not plant thee a grove of any trees near unto the altar of Yhwh thy God, which thou shalt make thee.

૨૧તમે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરની માટે જે વેદી બનાવો તેની બાજુએ કોઈ પણ જાતની અશેરા મૂર્તિ ન ગોઠવો.

22 Neither shalt thou set thee up any image; which Yhwh thy God hateth.

૨૨તમારે તમારા માટે કોઈ સ્તંભ ઊભો કરવો નહિ. કેમ કે, યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર તેને ધિક્કારે છે.
