Numbers 25
1 And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.
൧യിസ്രായേൽ ശിത്തീമിൽ പാർക്കുമ്പോൾ ജനം മോവാബ്യസ്ത്രീകളുമായി പരസംഗം തുടങ്ങി.
2 And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their elohim: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their elohim.
൨അവർ ജനത്തെ തങ്ങളുടെ ദേവന്മാരുടെ ബലികൾക്ക് ക്ഷണിച്ചു; ജനം ഭക്ഷിക്കുകയും അവരുടെ ദേവന്മാരെ നമസ്കരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
3 And Israel joined himself unto Baal-peor: and the anger of YHWH was kindled against Israel.
൩യിസ്രായേൽ ബാൽ-പെയോരിനോടു ചേർന്നു; അതിനാൽ യഹോവയുടെ കോപം യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ നേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചു.
4 And YHWH said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before YHWH against the sun, that the fierce anger of YHWH may be turned away from Israel.
൪യഹോവ മോശെയോട്: “യഹോവയുടെ ഉഗ്രകോപം യിസ്രായേലിനെ വിട്ടുമാറേണ്ടതിന് ജനത്തിന്റെ തലവന്മാരെയെല്ലാം കൂട്ടി അവരെ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ പരസ്യമായി തൂക്കിക്കളയുക” എന്ന് കല്പിച്ചു.
5 And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baal-peor.
൫മോശെ യിസ്രായേൽ ന്യായാധിപന്മാരോട്: “നിങ്ങളുടെ ആളുകളിൽ ബാൽ-പെയോരിനോട് ചേർന്നവരെ നിങ്ങൾതന്നെ കൊല്ലുവിൻ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
6 And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
൬എന്നാൽ മോശെയും യിസ്രായേൽസഭ മുഴുവനും സമാഗമനകൂടാരത്തിന്റെ വാതില്ക്കൽ കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവർ കാൺകെ, ഒരു യിസ്രായേല്യൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ മദ്ധ്യത്തിലേക്ക് ഒരു മിദ്യാന്യസ്ത്രീയെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
7 And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand;
൭അഹരോൻപുരോഹിതന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരിന്റെ മകൻ ഫീനെഹാസ് അത് കണ്ടപ്പോൾ സഭയുടെ മദ്ധ്യത്തിൽനിന്ന് എഴുന്നേറ്റ് ഒരു കുന്തം എടുത്ത്,
8 And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.
൮ആ യിസ്രായേല്യന്റെ പിന്നാലെ അന്തഃപുരത്തിലേക്ക് ചെന്ന് ഇരുവരെയും, ആ യിസ്രായേല്യനെയും ആ സ്ത്രീയെയും തന്നെ, അവളുടെ ഉദരം തുളയുംവണ്ണം കുത്തി; അപ്പോൾ ജനത്തെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന പകർച്ചവ്യാധി യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളെ വിട്ടുമാറി.
9 And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.
൯ഇരുപത്തിനാലായിരംപേർ ബാധകൊണ്ട് മരിച്ചുപോയി.
10 And YHWH spake unto Moses, saying,
൧൦പിന്നെ യഹോവ മോശെയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്:
11 Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.
൧൧“ഞാൻ എന്റെ തീക്ഷ്ണതയിൽ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളെ സംഹരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അഹരോൻപുരോഹിതന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരിന്റെ മകൻ ഫീനെഹാസ് അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി തീക്ഷ്ണതയുള്ളവനായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ച് എന്റെ ക്രോധം അവരെ വിട്ടുപോകുവാൻ ഇടയാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
12 Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace:
൧൨ആകയാൽ ഇതാ, ഞാൻ അവന് എന്റെ സമാധാനനിയമം കൊടുക്കുന്നു.
13 And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his Elohim, and made an atonement for the children of Israel.
൧൩‘അവൻ തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിനുവേണ്ടി തീക്ഷ്ണതയുള്ളവനായി യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കുവേണ്ടി പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം കഴിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട് അത് അവനും അവന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും നിത്യപൗരോഹിത്യത്തിന്റെ നിയമമാകും’ എന്ന് നീ പറയുക”.
14 Now the name of the Israelite that was slain, even that was slain with the Midianitish woman, was Zimri, the son of Salu, a prince of a chief house among the Simeonites.
൧൪മിദ്യാന്യസ്ത്രീയോടൊപ്പം കൊന്ന യിസ്രായേല്യന് സിമ്രി എന്ന് പേര്; അവൻ ശിമെയോൻ ഗോത്രത്തിൽ ഒരു പ്രഭുവായ സാലൂവിന്റെ മകൻ ആയിരുന്നു.
15 And the name of the Midianitish woman that was slain was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur; he was head over a people, and of a chief house in Midian.
൧൫കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ട മിദ്യാന്യസ്ത്രീക്ക് കൊസ്ബി എന്ന് പേർ; അവൾ ഒരു മിദ്യാന്യഗോത്രത്തിൽ ജനാധിപനായിരുന്ന സൂരിന്റെ മകളായിരുന്നു.
16 And YHWH spake unto Moses, saying,
൧൬പെയോരിന്റെ കാര്യത്തിലും പെയോർ നിമിത്തം ഉണ്ടായ ബാധയുടെ നാളിൽ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ട അവരുടെ സഹോദരിയായി മിദ്യാന്യപ്രഭുവിന്റെ മകൾ കൊസ്ബിയുടെ കാര്യത്തിലും മിദ്യാന്യർ നിങ്ങളെ ചതിച്ച് ഉപായങ്ങളാൽ ബുദ്ധുമുട്ടിച്ചിരിക്കുകകൊണ്ട്,
17 Vex the Midianites, and smite them:
൧൭നിങ്ങൾ അവരെ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിച്ച് സംഹരിക്കുവിൻ
18 For they vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Midian, their sister, which was slain in the day of the plague for Peor's sake.
൧൮എന്ന് യഹോവ മോശെയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
