Luke 1
1 Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us,
Sintemal es viele unternommen haben, eine Erzählung zusammenzustellen von den Geschichten, die sich bei uns ereignet haben,
2 Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;
So wie uns überliefert haben die, welche von Anfang an Augenzeugen und Diener des Wortes gewesen sind,
3 It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,
Habe auch ich es für gut gefunden, nachdem ich alles von vorne an mit Fleiß verfolgt habe, es dir, verehrtester Theophilus, in geordneter Folge zu schreiben,
4 That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.
Damit du Gewißheit erlangest über die Lehren, in welchen du unterwiesen bist.
5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
In den Tagen Herodis, des Königs Judäas, war ein Priester, mit Namen Zacharias, von der Ordnung Abias; und sein Weib war von den Töchtern Arons, und ihr Name Elisabeth.
6 And they were both righteous before YHWH, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of YHWH blameless.
Sie waren aber beide gerecht vor Gott, und wandelten in allen Geboten und Rechten des Herrn untadelig.
7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.
Und sie hatten kein Kind, da Elisabeth unfruchtbar war; und beide waren wohlbetagt.
8 And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before YHWH in the order of his course,
Es geschah aber, als er Priesterdienst tat, in der Reihe seiner Ordnung, vor Gott,
9 According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of YHWH.
Nach der Sitte des Priesteramts, und es ihn traf zu räuchern, daß er hineinging in den Tempel des Herrn.
10 And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.
Und die ganze menge des Volkes betete draußen in der Stunde des Räucherns.
11 And there appeared unto him an angel of YHWH standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
Es erschien ihm aber der Engel des Herrn, der stand zur Rechten des Rauchaltars.
12 And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.
Und Zacharias erschrak, als er ihn sah, und Furcht befiel ihn.
13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
Der Engel aber sprach zu ihm: Fürchte dich nicht, Zacharias, denn deine Bitte ist erhört, und dein Weib Elisabeth wird dir einen Sohn gebären, und du sollst seinen Namen Johannes (Gotthold) nennen.
14 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.
Und er wird dir zur Freude und Wonne sein, und viele werden sich ob seiner Geburt freuen.
15 For he shall be great in the sight of YHWH, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.
Denn er wird groß sein vor dem Herrn, und Wein und Berauschendes soll er nicht trinken, aber noch im Mutterleib wird er mit heiligem Geist erfüllt werden.
16 And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to YHWH their Elohim.
Und viele der Söhne Israels wird er bekehren zu dem Herrn, ihrem Gott.
17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of EliYah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for YHWH.
Und er selbst wird von ihm hergehen im Geiste und in der Kraft Elias, zu bekehren die Herzen der Väter zu den Kindern, und die Ungehorsamen zur Einsicht der Gerechten, zuzurichten dem Herrn ein bereitet Volk.
18 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.
Und Zacharias sprach zu dem Engel: Wobei soll ich das erkennen? denn ich bin alt, und mein Weib ist betagt.
19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of YHWH; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.
Und der Engel antwortete, und sprach zu ihm: Ich bin Gabriel, der vor Gott steht, und bin gesandt, mit dir zu reden, und dir diese frohe Botschaft zu verkünden.
20 And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.
Und siehe, du wirst verstummen, und nicht reden können, bis zu dem Tage, an welchem dies geschehen wird, darum, daß du meinen Worten nicht geglaubt hast, welche werden erfüllt werden zu ihrer Zeit.
21 And the people waited for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple.
Und das Volk wartete auf Zacharias, und verwunderte sich, daß er so lange im Tempel verzog.
22 And when he came out, he could not speak unto them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he beckoned unto them, and remained speechless.
Als er aber herauskam, konnte er nicht mit ihnen reden; und sie merkten, daß er ein Gesicht gesehen im Tempel; und er winkte ihnen, und blieb stumm.
23 And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.
Und es geschah, da die Tage seines Amtes erfüllt waren, ging er heim.
24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,
Nach diesen Tagen aber empfing sein Weib Elisabeth, und verbarg sich fünf Monate, und sprach:
25 Thus hath YHWH dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.
Also hat mir der Herr getan in den Tagen, da er mich angesehen hat, daß er meine Schmach bei den Menschen wegnähme.
26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from YHWH unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
In dem sechsten Monat aber ward der Engel Gabriel gesandt von Gott in eine Stadt Galiläas, mit Namen Nazareth,
27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
Zu einer Jungfrau, die verlobt war mit einem Manne, mit Namen Joseph, aus dem Hause Davids; und der Name der Jungfrau war Maria.
28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, YHWH is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
Und der Engel kam hinein zu ihr, und sprach: Sei gegrüßt, Begnadigte! Der Herr ist mit dir; gesegnet bist du unter den Weibern!
29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
Da sie ihn aber sah, erschrak sie über seine Rede, und dachte, was für ein Gruß das sei?
30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with YHWH.
Und der Engel sprach zu ihr: Fürchte dich nicht, Maria! denn du hast Gnade gefunden bei Gott.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Yahushua.
Und siehe, du wirst empfangen im Leibe und einen Sohn gebären, und du sollst seinen Namen Jesus heißen.
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and YHWH Elohim shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
Der wird groß sein und Sohn des Höchsten genannt werden; und der Herr, Gott, wird ihm den Thron seines Vater David geben,
33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. (aiōn g165)
Und er wird König sein über das Haus Jakob in die Ewigkeiten, und seiner Herrschaft wird kein Ende sein. (aiōn g165)
34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
Maria aber sprach zu dem Engel: Wie wird das sein, da ich von keinem Manne weiß?
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of YHWH.
Und der Engel antwortete, und sprach zu ihr: Heiliger Geist wird über dich kommen, und Kraft des Höchsten wird dich überschatten, darum wird auch das erzeugte Heilige Sohn Gottes genannt werden.
36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
Und siehe, Elisabeth, deine Verwandte, ist auch in Hoffnung mit einem Sohn, in ihrem Alter, und sie, die unfruchtbar geheißen, geht jetzt im sechsten Monat.
37 For with YHWH nothing shall be impossible.
Denn bei Gott ist kein Ding unmöglich.
38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of YHWH; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
Maria aber sprach: Siehe, ich bin des Herrn Magd; mir geschehe, wie du gesagt hast. Und der Engel schied von ihr.
39 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;
Maria aber stund auf in den Tagen und reiste in das Gebirge, mit Eile, in die Stadt Judas,
40 And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.
Und kam in das Haus Zacharias, und grüßte Elisabeth.
41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit:
Und es geschah, als Elisabeth den Gruß der Maria hörte, hüpfte das Kind in ihrem Leibe, und Elisabeth ward voll heiligen Geistes,
42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
Und rief mit lauter Stimme, und sprach: Gesegnet bist du unter den Weibern, und gesegnet ist die Frucht deines Leibes.
43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Sovereign should come to me?
Und woher kommt mir das, daß die Mutter meines Herrn zu mir kommt?
44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
Denn siehe, als die Stimme deines Grußes in meine Ohren kam, hüpfte das Kind mit Frohlocken in meinem Leibe.
45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from YHWH.
Und selig bist du, die du geglaubt hast, denn es wird vollendet werden, was dir gesagt ist vom Herrn.
46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify YHWH,
Und Maria sprach: Meine Seele preiset den Herrn,
47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in Elohim my Saviour.
Und mein Geist frohlockt über Gott, meinen Heiland.
48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
Denn er hat angesehen die Niedrigkeit seiner Magd; denn siehe, von nun an werden mich selig nennen alle Geschlechter.
49 For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.
Denn er hat Großes an mir getan, der Mächtige; und heilig ist sein Name.
50 And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.
Und sein Erbarmen währet von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht bei denen, die ihn fürchten.
51 He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
Er hat Gewalt geübt mit seinem Arm; zerstreut die hoffärtig sind in ihrer Herzen Gedanken.
52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.
Gestoßen hat er Gewalthaber von ihren Thronen; und erhöht die Niedrigen.
53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.
Die Hungrigen hat er gefüllt mit Gutem; und die Reichen leer weggesandt.
54 He hath helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;
Er hat sich angenommen Israels, seines Knechtes; sich zu erinnern des Erbarmens;
Wie er geredet hat zu unsern Vätern; dem Abraham und seinem Samen in Ewigkeit. - (aiōn g165)
56 And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.
Maria aber blieb bei ihr drei Monate, und kehrte um in ihr Haus.
57 Now Elisabeth's full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son.
Für Elisabeth aber kam die Zeit, da sie gebären sollte, und sie gebar einen Sohn.
58 And her neighbours and her cousins heard how YHWH had shewed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her.
Und es hörten ihre Nachbarn und Verwandte, daß der Herr sein Erbarmen an ihr verherrlicht hatte, und freuten sich mit ihr.
59 And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father.
Und es geschah am achten Tage, daß sie kamen, das Kindlein zu beschneiden; und sie nannten ihn, nach dem Namen seines Vaters, Zacharias.
60 And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called John.
Und seine Mutter antwortete, und sprach: Nein, sondern er soll Johannes heißen.
61 And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name.
Und sie sprachen zu ihr: Niemand ist in deiner Verwandtschaft, der also heißt.
62 And they made signs to his father, how he would have him called.
Da winkte sie seinem Vater, wie er wolle, daß er heiße.
63 And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all.
Und er forderte ein Täfelein, und schrieb also: Johannes ist sein Name; und sie verwunderten sich alle.
64 And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised YHWH.
Da öffnete sich sein Mund plötzlich, und seine Zunge, und er redete und lobte Gott.
65 And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judaea.
Und es kam Furcht über alle, die um sie herum wohnten, und auf dem ganzen Gebirge Judäas redete man von diesem Dingen.
66 And all they that heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, What manner of child shall this be! And the hand of YHWH was with him.
Und alle, die es hörten, nahmen es zu Herzen, und sprachen: Was wird doch noch aus diesem Kindlein werden? Denn auch die Hand des Herrn war mit ihm.
67 And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying,
Und Zacharias, sein Vater, ward mit heiligem Geist erfüllt, weissagte und sprach:
68 Blessed be YHWH Elohim of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
Gelobt sei der Herr, der Gott Israels; denn er hat angesehen und Erlösung geschafft seinem Volke Israel.
69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
Und uns aufgerichtet ein Horn des Heils, in dem Hause Davids, seines Knechtes,
70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began: (aiōn g165)
Wie er geredet hat durch den Mund der Heiligen, die von Ewigkeit her seinen Propheten gewesen sind, (aiōn g165)
71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
Rettung von unsern Feinden, und aus der Hand aller, die uns hassen.
72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;
Barmherzigkeit zu erweisen an unseren Vätern; und sich zu erinnern seines heiligen Bundes.
73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,
Den Eid, welchen er geschworen hat dem Abraham, unserm Vater, uns zu geben,
74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
Daß wir erlöst aus der Hand unserer Feinde, furchtlos ihm dieneten,
75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
In Heiligkeit und Gerechtigkeit vor ihm, alle unsere Tage.
76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of YHWH to prepare his ways;
Und du, Kindlein, wirst ein Prophet des Höchsten genannt werden; denn du wirst vor dem Angesichte des Herrn hergehen, seine Wege zu bereiten,
77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
Zu geben Erkenntnis des Heils seinem Volke, in Vergebung ihrer Sünden,
78 Through the tender mercy of our Elohim; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,
Um der herzlichen Barmherzigkeit unseres Gottes willen, durch welche uns besucht hat der Aufgang aus der Höhe,
79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Zu leuchten denen, die in Finsternis und Schatten des Todes sitzen, um zu richten unsre Füße auf den Berg des Friedens.
80 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.
Das Kindlein aber wuchs, und erstarkte im Geist, und war in den Wüsten, bis zu dem Tage seines Auftretens vor Israel.
