1 Chronicles 22

1 Then David said, This is the house of YHWH Elohim, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.

Und David sprach: "Dies hier sei das Haus Gottes, des Herrn, und dies der Altar für die Brandopfer Israels."

2 And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of Elohim.

Dann befahl David, die Fremdlinge im Lande Israel zu sammeln. Hierauf bestellte er Steinmetzen, um Quadersteine zum Bau des Gotteshauses zu behauen.

3 And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;

Ferner beschaffte David eine Menge Eisen für die Nägel zu den Torflügeln und für die Klammern und eine solche Menge Erz, daß man es nicht wägen konnte,

4 Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.

auch unzählige Zedernbalken. Denn die Sidonier und Tyrier brachten David Zedernbalken in Menge.

5 And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for YHWH must be exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.

David sagte nämlich: "Mein Sohn Salomo ist noch jung und zart. Das Haus aber, das für den Herrn zu bauen ist, muß überaus groß werden, daß es als Ruhm und Zier für alle Länder dastehe. So will ich es denn vorbereiten." Und so beschaffte David vor seinem Tode Vorrat in Menge.

6 Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for YHWH Elohim of Israel.

Dann rief er seinen Sohn Salomo und gebot ihm, ein Haus dem Herrn, dem Gott Israels, zu bauen.

7 And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of YHWH my Elohim:

David sprach zu seinem Sohne Salomo: "Ich habe im Sinne gehabt, ein Haus für den Namen des Herrn, meines Gottes, zu bauen.

8 But the word of YHWH came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.

Da erging aber das Wort des Herrn an mich: 'Du hast in Menge Blut vergossen und große Kriege unternommen. So darfst du meinem Namen kein Haus erbauen, weil du viel Blut auf Erden vergossen hast.

9 Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.

Doch siehe! Ein Sohn wird dir geboren. Er wird ein Mann der Ruhe sein. Und ich verschaffe ihm Ruhe vor all seinen Feinden ringsumher. Er heißt ja Salomo. Und Ruhe und Frieden gebe ich in seinen Tagen Israel.

10 He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.

Er baut ein Haus für meinen Namen. Er ist mir Sohn und ich ihm Vater. Ich gründe seinen königlichen Thron für alle Zeiten über Israel.'

11 Now, my son, YHWH be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of YHWH thy Elohim, as he hath said of thee.

Nun, mein Sohn! Der Herr sei mit dir, daß es dir gelinge und du das Haus des Herrn, deines Gottes, bauest, wie er dir verheißen hat!

12 Only YHWH give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of YHWH thy Elohim.

Nur gebe dir der Herr Verstand und Klugheit und bestelle dich über Israel, daß du des Herrn, deines Gottes, Lehre beachtest!

13 Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which YHWH charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.

Dann hast du Glück, wenn du die Satzungen und Rechte einhältst, die der Herr dem Moses für Israel geboten. Sei stark und mutig! Sei nicht furchtsam und nicht ängstlich!

14 Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of YHWH an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.

Bei meiner Armut habe ich für das Haus des Herrn 100.000 Talente Gold beschafft und eine Million Silber, dazu so viel Erz und Eisen, daß es nicht zu wägen ist; in solcher Masse ist es da. Auch Balken und Steine habe ich beschafft, und du wirst noch mehr dazutun.

15 Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work.

Auch Werkleute, Steinhauer, Maurer und Zimmerleute sind bei dir in Menge und allerlei Kunstverständige für jegliche Arbeit

16 Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and YHWH be with thee.

in Gold, Silber, Erz und Eisen ohne Zahl. Auf! Geh ans Werk! Der Herr sei mit dir!"

17 David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,

Dann befahl David allen Fürsten Israels, seinem Sohne Salomo beizustehen:

18 Is not YHWH your Elohim with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before YHWH, and before his people.

"Ist denn nicht der Herr, euer Gott, mit euch gewesen und hat euch ringsum Ruhe verschafft? Er hat ja in meine Hand des Landes Bewohner gegeben, und das Land hat sich dem Herrn und seinem Volke unterwerfen müssen.

19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek YHWH your Elohim; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of YHWH Elohim, to bring the ark of the covenant of YHWH, and the holy vessels of Elohim, into the house that is to be built to the name of YHWH.

So richtet euer Herz und euren Sinn darauf, den Herrn, euren Gott, zu suchen! Auf! Baut Gottes, des Herrn, Heiligtum,
