2 Chronicles 18
1 NOW Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, and joined affinity with Ahab.
౧యెహోషాపాతుకు సంపద, ఘనత, అధికమైన తరవాత అతడు అహాబుతో సంబంధం కలుపుకున్నాడు.
2 And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that he had with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramoth-gilead.

3 And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramoth-gilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war.
౩ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు అహాబు, యూదా రాజు యెహోషాపాతుతో “నువ్వు నాతో బాటు రామోతు గిలాదుకు వస్తావా” అని అడిగినప్పుడు, యెహోషాపాతు “నేను నీవాణ్ణి, నా ప్రజలు నీ ప్రజలు. మేము నీతోబాటు యుద్ధానికి వస్తాం” అని చెప్పాడు.
4 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Inquire, I pray thee, at the word of the Lord to day.
౪యెహోషాపాతు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుతో “ముందు యెహోవా దగ్గర సంగతి విచారణ చేద్దాం రండి” అన్నాడు.
5 Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king’s hand.
౫ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు 400 మంది ప్రవక్తలను సమకూర్చి “నేను రామోతు గిలాదు మీదికి యుద్ధానికి వెళ్ళాలా, వద్దా?” అని వారిని అడిగాడు. అందుకు వారు “వెళ్ళు, దేవుడు దాన్ని రాజు చేతికి అప్పగిస్తాడు” అని చెప్పారు.
6 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord besides, that we might inquire of him?
౬అయితే యెహోషాపాతు “వీళ్ళు కాకుండా మనం విచారణ చేయడానికి యెహోవా ప్రవక్తల్లో ఒకడైనా ఇక్కడ లేడా?” అని అడిగాడు.
7 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may inquire of the Lord: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
౭అందుకు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు “యెహోవా దగ్గర విచారణ చేయడానికి ఇమ్లా కొడుకు మీకాయా అనేవాడు ఇక్కడ ఉన్నాడు. అయితే అతడు నా గురించి మంచి ప్రవచించడు. ఎప్పుడూ కీడునే ప్రవచిస్తున్నాడు కాబట్టి అతడంటే నాకు కోపం” అన్నాడు. యెహోషాపాతు రాజు “రాజైన మీరు అలా అనవద్దు” అన్నాడు.
8 And the king of Israel called for one of his officers, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imla.
౮అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు తన పరివారంలో ఒకణ్ణి పిలిపించి “ఇమ్లా కొడుకు మీకాయాను త్వరగా రప్పించు” అని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చాడు.
9 And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat either of them on his throne, clothed in their robes, and they sat in a void place at the entering in of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.
౯ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు, యూదారాజు యెహోషాపాతు షోమ్రోను ఊరు ద్వారం ముందు ఉన్న స్థలం లో తమ రాజవస్త్రాలు ధరించుకుని సింహాసనాల మీద కూర్చుని ఉండగా ప్రవక్తలంతా వారి ముందు ప్రవచిస్తూ ఉన్నారు.
10 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith the Lord, With these thou shalt push Syria until they be consumed.
౧౦అప్పుడు కెనన్యా కొడుకు సిద్కియా ఇనప కొమ్ములు చేయించుకుని వచ్చి “సిరియనులు అరామీయులు నాశనమయ్యే వరకూ వీటితో వాళ్ళను నువ్వు పొడుస్తావని యెహోవా సెలవిస్తున్నాడు” అని ప్రకటించాడు.
11 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
౧౧ప్రవక్తలంతా ఆ విధంగానే ప్రవచిస్తూ “యెహోవా రామోతు గిలాదును రాజు చేతికి అప్పగిస్తాడు, దాని మీదికి వెళ్ళి జయం పొందు” అన్నారు.
12 And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good.
౧౨మీకాయాని పిలవడానికి పోయిన దూత అతనితో “ప్రవక్తలు రాజు విషయంలో అంతా మేలునే పలుకుతున్నారు. దయచేసి నీ మాటను వారి మాటలతో కలిపి మేలునే ప్రవచించు” అన్నారు.
13 And Micaiah said, As the Lord liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak.
౧౩మీకాయా “యెహోవా జీవం తోడు, నా దేవుడు దేనిని సెలవిస్తాడో దానినే ప్రవచిస్తాను” అని చెప్పాడు.
14 And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.
౧౪అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు దగ్గరకి వచ్చినప్పుడు రాజు అతణ్ణి చూసి “మీకాయా, రామోతు గిలాదు పైకి మేము యుద్ధానికి వెళ్ళవచ్చా, ఆగిపోవాలా?” అని అడగ్గా, అతడు “వెళ్ళి యుద్ధం చేసి జయించండి. వారు మీ చేతికి చిక్కుతారు” అన్నాడు.
15 And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the Lord?
౧౫అప్పుడు రాజు “యెహోవా నామంలో అబద్ధం కాక సత్యమే చెప్పమని నేను ఎన్నిసార్లు నీ చేత ఒట్టు పెట్టించుకోవాలి?” అని అతనితో అన్నాడు.
16 Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the Lord said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace.
౧౬అప్పుడు మీకాయా “కాపరి లేని గొర్రెల్లాగా ఇశ్రాయేలు వారంతా పర్వతాల మీద చెదిరిపోవడం నేను చూశాను. ‘వీరికి యజమాని లేడు. వీరిలో ప్రతివాడూ తన తన ఇంటికి ప్రశాంతంగా తిరిగి వెళ్ళాలి’ అని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చాడు” అన్నాడు.
17 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil?
౧౭అది విని ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు యెహోషాపాతుతో ఇలా అన్నాడు. “ఇతడు నా విషయంలో కీడునే గాని మేలును ప్రవచించడని నేను నీతో చెప్పలేదా?”
18 Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the Lord; I saw the Lord sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.
౧౮అప్పుడు మీకాయా ఇలా అన్నాడు. “యెహోవా మాట వినండి. యెహోవా తన సింహాసనం మీద కూర్చుని ఉండడం, పరలోక సైన్యమంతా ఆయన కుడివైపూ ఎడమవైపూ నిలబడి ఉండడం నేను చూశాను.
19 And the Lord said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.
౧౯‘ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు అహాబు రామోతు గిలాదు మీద యుద్ధానికి వెళ్ళి చనిపోయేలా అతణ్ణి ఎవరు ప్రేరేపిస్తారు?’ అని యెహోవా అడిగాడు. అప్పుడు, ఒకడు ఒక రకంగా, ఇంకొకడు మరొక రకంగా జవాబిచ్చారు.
20 Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the Lord, and said, I will entice him. And the Lord said unto him, Wherewith?
౨౦అప్పుడు ఒక ఆత్మ వచ్చి యెహోవా ముందు నిలబడి, ‘నేను అతణ్ణి ప్రేరేపిస్తాను’ అని చెప్పాడు. యెహోవా, ‘ఏవిధంగా?’ అని అతణ్ణి అడిగాడు.
21 And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the Lord said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so.
౨౧అందుకు ఆ ఆత్మ, ‘నేను వెళ్ళి అతని ప్రవక్తలందరి నోట అబద్ధాలాడే ఆత్మగా ఉంటాను’ అని చెప్పాడు. అందుకు యెహోవా ‘నువ్వు అతణ్ణి ప్రేరేపించి సఫలమౌతావు. వెళ్ళి అలా చెయ్యి’ అని సెలవిచ్చాడు.
22 Now therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil against thee.
౨౨నీ ప్రవక్తలైన వీరి నోటిలో యెహోవా అబద్ధాలాడే ఆత్మను ఉంచాడు. యెహోవా నీకు కీడు నిర్ణయించాడు.”
23 Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the Lord from me to speak unto thee?
౨౩అప్పుడు కెనన్యా కొడుకు సిద్కియా మీకాయా దగ్గరికి వచ్చి అతణ్ణి చెంప మీద కొట్టి “నీతో మాటలాడటానికి యెహోవా ఆత్మ నా దగ్గర నుండి ఎటు వైపు వెళ్ళాడు?” అన్నాడు.
24 And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.
౨౪అందుకు మీకాయా “దాక్కోడానికి నువ్వు లోపలి గదిలోకి వెళ్ళే రోజున అది నీకు తెలుస్తుంది” అని చెప్పాడు.
25 Then the king of Israel said, Take ye Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son;
౨౫అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు “మీరు మీకాయాను పట్టణపు అధికారి ఆమోను దగ్గరికి, రాకుమారుడు యోవాషు దగ్గరికి తీసుకు పోయి వారితో, రాజు మీకిచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞ ఇదే
26 And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.
౨౬నేను సురక్షితంగా తిరిగి వచ్చే వరకూ ఇతన్ని చెరలో ఉంచి కొద్దిగా ఆహారం, నీరు మాత్రం ఇవ్వండి” అన్నాడు.
27 And Micaiah said, If thou certainly return in peace, then hath not the Lord spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people.
౨౭అప్పుడు మీకాయా “నువ్వు సురక్షితంగా తిరిగి వస్తే యెహోవా నా ద్వారా పలకలేదన్న మాటే. ప్రజలంతా ఆలకించండి” అన్నాడు.
28 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth-gilead.
౨౮అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు, యూదా రాజు యెహోషాపాతు, రామోతు గిలాదు మీదికి యుద్ధానికి వెళ్ళారు.
29 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and will go to the battle; but put thou on thy robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle.
౨౯ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు “నేను మారు వేషం వేసుకుని యుద్ధానికి వెళ్తాను. నువ్వు నీ వస్త్రాలనే ధరించు” అని యెహోషాపాతుతో చెప్పి తాను మారు వేషం వేసుకున్నాడు. తరువాత వారు యుద్ధానికి వెళ్ళారు.
30 Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him, saying, Fight ye not with small or great, save only with the king of Israel.
౩౦సిరియా రాజు “మీరు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుతోనే యుద్ధం చేయండి. పెద్దా చిన్న వారితో చేయవద్దు” అని తనతో ఉన్న తన రథాల అధిపతులకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చాడు.
31 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
౩౧కాగా యెహోషాపాతు కనబడగానే రథాధిపతులు “అడుగో ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు” అంటూ అతడిపై దాడి చెయ్యడానికి అతణ్ణి చుట్టుముట్టారు. అయితే యెహోషాపాతు యెహోవాకు మొర్రపెట్టడం వలన ఆయన అతనికి సహాయం చేశాడు. దేవుడు అతని దగ్గర నుండి వారు తొలగిపోయేలా చేశాడు.
32 For it came to pass, that, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back again from pursuing him.
౩౨ఎలాగంటే, రథాధిపతులు అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు కాడని తెలుసుకుని అతణ్ణి తరమడం మాని తిరిగి వెళ్ళారు.
33 And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: therefore he said to his chariot man, Turn thine hand, that thou mayest carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
౩౩అప్పుడు ఎవడో గురి చూడకుండానే విల్లు ఎక్కుబెట్టి బాణం వేయగా అది ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు కవచపు సందుల్లో గుచ్చుకుంది. రాజు తన సారధితో “నాకు గాయమైంది. వెనక్కి తిప్పి యుద్ధంలో నుండి నన్ను బయటికి తీసుకు వెళ్ళు” అన్నాడు.
34 And the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even: and about the time of the sun going down he died.
౩౪ఆ రోజున యుద్ధం తీవ్రంగా జరిగింది. అయినా ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు సూర్యాస్తమయం వరకూ సిరియా సైన్యానికి ఎదురుగా తన రథంలో ఆనుకుని నిలబడ్డాడు. పొద్దుగుంకే వేళకి అతడు చనిపోయాడు.
