Psalms 41

1 For the Leader. A Psalm of David. Happy is he that considereth the poor; the LORD will deliver him in the day of evil.

Blagoslovljen je, kdor misli na ubogega. Gospod ga bo osvobodil v času stiske.

2 The LORD preserve him, and keep him alive, let him be called happy in the land; and deliver not Thou him unto the greed of his enemies.

Gospod ga bo varoval in ga ohranil živega in blagoslovljen bo na zemlji in ti ga nočeš izročiti volji njegovih sovražnikov.

3 The LORD support him upon the bed of illness; mayest Thou turn all his lying down in his sickness.

Gospod ga bo okrepil na postelji slabljenja. Zamenjal boš vso njegovo posteljo v njegovi bolezni.

4 As for me, I said: 'O LORD, be gracious unto me; heal my soul; for I have sinned against Thee.'

Rekel sem: » Gospod, bodi mi usmiljen. Ozdravi mojo dušo, kajti grešil sem zoper tebe.«

5 Mine enemies speak evil of me: 'When shall he die, and his name perish?'

Moji sovražniki zlobno govorijo o meni: »Kdaj bo umrl in njegovo ime izgine?«

6 And if one come to see me, he speaketh falsehood; his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he speaketh of it.

Če pride, da me vidi, govori prazne reči. Njegovo srce k sebi zbira krivičnost; ko hodi proč od bivališča, to pripoveduje.

7 All that hate me whisper together against me, against me do they devise my hurt:

Vsi, ki me sovražijo, skupaj šepetajo zoper mene, zoper mene snujejo mojo bolečino.

8 'An evil thing cleaveth fast unto him; and now that he lieth, he shall rise up no more.'

Zla bolezen, pravijo, se ga trdno drži, in sedaj, ko leži, ne bo več vstal.

9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

Da, moj lastni zaupni prijatelj, v katerega sem zaupal, ki je jedel od mojega kruha, je dvignil svojo peto zoper mene.

10 But Thou, O LORD, be gracious unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

Toda ti, oh Gospod, mi bodi usmiljen in me dvigni, da jim lahko poplačam.

11 By this I know that Thou delightest in me, that mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

Po tem spoznam, da me ti podpiraš, ker moj sovražnik ne slavi zmage nad menoj.

12 And as for me, Thou upholdest me because of mine integrity, and settest me before Thy face for ever.

Kar se mene tiče, me podpiraš v moji neokrnjenosti in me postavljaš pred svoje obličje na veke.

13 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.

Blagoslovljen bodi Gospod, Izraelov Bog, od večnosti in do večnosti. Amen in Amen.
