Judges 20
1 Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was assembled as one man, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, with the land of Gilead, unto the LORD at Mizpah.
| و جمیع بنی‌اسرائیل بیرون آمدند وجماعت مثل شخص واحد از دان تابئرشبع با اهل زمین جلعاد نزد خداوند در مصفه جمع شدند. | ۱ |
2 And the chiefs of all the people, even of all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen that drew sword. —
| و سروران تمام قوم و جمیع اسباطاسرائیل یعنی چهارصد هزار مرد شمشیر زن پیاده در جماعت قوم خدا حاضر بودند. | ۲ |
3 Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel were gone up to Mizpah. — And the children of Israel said: 'Tell us, how was this wickedness brought to pass?'
| وبنی بنیامین شنیدند که بنی‌اسرائیل در مصفه برآمده‌اند. و بنی‌اسرائیل گفتند: «بگویید که این عمل زشت چگونه شده است.» | ۳ |
4 And the Levite, the husband of the woman that was murdered, answered and said: 'I came into Gibeah that belongeth to Benjamin, I and my concubine, to lodge.
| آن مرد لاوی که شوهر زن مقتوله بود، در جواب گفت: «من با کنیزخود به جبعه که از آن بنیامین باشد، آمدیم تا شب را بسر بریم. | ۴ |
5 And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and beset the house round about upon me by night; me they thought to have slain, and my concubine they forced, and she is dead.
| و اهل جبعه بر من برخاسته، خانه رادر شب، گرد من احاطه کردند، و مرا خواستندبکشند و کنیز مرا ذلیل نمودند که بمرد. | ۵ |
6 And I took my concubine, and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the country of the inheritance of Israel; for they have committed lewdness and wantonness in Israel.
| و کنیز خود را گرفته، او را قطعه قطعه کردم و او را درتمامی ولایت ملک اسرائیل فرستادم، زیرا که کارقبیح و زشت در اسرائیل نمودند. | ۶ |
7 Behold, ye are all here, children of Israel, give here your advice and council.'
| هان جمیع شما، ای بنی‌اسرائیل حکم و مشورت خود رااینجا بیاورید.» | ۷ |
8 And all the people arose as one man, saying: 'We will not any of us go to his tent, neither will we any of us turn unto his house.
| آنگاه تمام قوم مثل شخص واحد برخاسته، گفتند: «هیچ کدام از ما به خیمه خود نخواهیم رفت، و هیچ کدام از ما به خانه خود بر نخواهیم گشت. | ۸ |
9 But now this is the thing which we will do to Gibeah: we will go up against it by lot;
| و حال کاری که به جبعه خواهیم کرد این است که به حسب قرعه بر آن برآییم. | ۹ |
10 and we will take ten men of a hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, and a hundred of a thousand, and a thousand out of ten thousand, to fetch victuals for the people, that they may do, when they come to Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the wantonness that they have wrought in Israel.'
| و ده نفراز صد و صد از هزار و هزار از ده هزار از تمامی اسباط اسرائیل بگیریم تا آذوقه برای قوم بیاورند، و تا چون به جبعه بنیامینی برسند با ایشان موافق همه قباحتی که در اسرائیل نموده‌اند، رفتارنمایند.» | ۱۰ |
11 So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit together as one man.
| پس جمیع مردان اسرائیل بر شهر جمع شده، مثل شخص واحد متحد شدند. | ۱۱ |
12 And the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying: 'What wickedness is this that is come to pass among you?
| و اسباطاسرائیل اشخاصی چند در تمامی سبط بنیامین فرستاده، گفتند: «این چه شرارتی است که در میان شما واقع شده است؟ | ۱۲ |
13 Now therefore deliver up the men, the base fellows that are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel.' But the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel.
| پس الان آن مردان بنی بلیعال را که در جبعه هستند، تسلیم نمایید تاآنها را به قتل رسانیم، و بدی را از اسرائیل دورکنیم.» اما بنیامینیان نخواستند که سخن برادران خود بنی‌اسرائیل را بشنوند. | ۱۳ |
14 And the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together out of their cities unto Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.
| و بنی بنیامین ازشهرهای خود به جبعه جمع شدند تا بیرون رفته، با بنی‌اسرائیل جنگ نمایند. | ۱۴ |
15 And the children of Benjamin numbered on that day out of the cities twenty and six thousand men that drew sword, besides the inhabitants of Gibeah, who numbered seven hundred chosen men.
| و از بنی بنیامین درآن روز بیست و ششهزار مرد شمشیرزن ازشهرها سان دیده شد، غیر از ساکنان جبعه که هفتصد نفر برگزیده، سان دیده شد. | ۱۵ |
16 All this people, even seven hundred chosen men, were left-handed; every one could sling stones at a hair-breadth, and not miss.
| و از تمام این گروه هفتصد نفر چپ دست برگزیده شدند که هر یکی از آنها مویی را به سنگ فلاخن می‌زدند وخطا نمی کردند. | ۱۶ |
17 And the men of Israel, beside Benjamin, numbered four hundred thousand men that drew sword; all these were men of war.
| و از مردان اسرائیل سوای بنیامینیان چهارصد هزار مرد شمشیرزن سان دیده شد که جمیع اینها مردان جنگی بودند. | ۱۷ |
18 And the children of Israel arose, and went up to Beth-el, and asked counsel of God; and they said: 'Who shall go up for us first to battle against the children of Benjamin?' And the LORD said: 'Judah first.'
| و بنی‌اسرائیل برخاسته، به بیت ئیل رفتند واز خدا مشورت خواسته، گفتند: «کیست که اولااز ما برای جنگ نمودن با بنی بنیامین برآید؟» خداوند گفت: «یهودا اول برآید.» | ۱۸ |
19 And the children of Israel rose up in the morning, and encamped against Gibeah.
| و بنی‌اسرائیل بامدادان برخاسته، در برابرجبعه اردو زدند. | ۱۹ |
20 And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel set the battle in array against them at Gibeah.
| و مردان اسرائیل بیرون رفتندتا با بنیامینیان جنگ نمایند، و مردان اسرائیل برابر ایشان در جبعه صف آرایی کردند. | ۲۰ |
21 And the children of Benjamin came forth out of Gibeah, and destroyed down to the ground of the Israelites on that day twenty and two thousand men.
| وبنی بنیامین از جبعه بیرون آمده، در آن روز بیست و دو هزار نفر از اسرائیل را بر زمین هلاک کردند. | ۲۱ |
22 And the people, the men of Israel, encouraged themselves, and set the battle again in array in the place where they set themselves in array the first day.
| و قوم، یعنی مردان اسرائیل خود را قوی‌دل ساخته، بار دیگر صف آرایی نمودند، در مکانی که روز اول صف آرایی کرده بودند. | ۲۲ |
23 And the children of Israel went up and wept before the LORD until even; and they asked of the LORD, saying: 'Shall I again draw nigh to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother?' And the LORD said: 'Go up against him.'
| وبنی‌اسرائیل برآمده، به حضور خداوند تا شام گریه کردند، و از خداوند مشورت خواسته، گفتند: «آیا بار دیگر نزدیک بشوم تا با برادران خود بنی بنیامین جنگ نمایم؟» خداوند گفت: «به مقابله ایشان برآیید.» | ۲۳ |
24 And the children of Israel came near against the children of Benjamin the second day.
| و بنی‌اسرائیل در روز دوم به مقابله بنی بنیامین پیش آمدند. | ۲۴ |
25 And Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the sword.
| و بنیامینیان در روزدوم به مقابله ایشان از جبعه بیرون شده، بار دیگرهجده هزار نفر از بنی‌اسرائیل را بر زمین هلاک ساختند که جمیع اینها شمشیرزن بودند. | ۲۵ |
26 Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came unto Beth-el, and wept, and sat there before the LORD, and fasted that day until even; and they offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before the LORD.
| آنگاه تمامی بنی‌اسرائیل، یعنی تمامی قوم برآمده، به بیت ئیل رفتند و گریه کرده، در آنجا به حضور خداوند توقف نمودند، و آن روز را تا شام روزه داشته، قربانی های سوختنی و ذبایح سلامتی به حضور خداوند گذرانیدند. | ۲۶ |
27 And the children of Israel asked of the LORD — for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,
| و بنی‌اسرائیل از خداوند مشورت خواستند. وتابوت عهد خدا آن روزها در آنجا بود. | ۲۷ |
28 and Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days — saying: 'Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease?' And the LORD said: 'Go up; for to-morrow I will deliver him into thy hand.'
| وفینحاس بن العازار بن هارون در آن روزها پیش آن ایستاده بود، و گفتند: «آیا بار دیگر بیرون روم و بابرادران خود بنی بنیامین جنگ کنم یا دست بردارم؟» خداوند گفت: «برآی زیرا که فردا او رابه‌دست تو تسلیم خواهم نمود.» | ۲۸ |
29 And Israel set liers-in-wait against Gibeah round about.
| پس اسرائیل در هر طرف جبعه کمین ساختند. | ۲۹ |
30 And the children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin on the third day, and set themselves in array against Gibeah, as at other times.
| و بنی‌اسرائیل در روز سوم به مقابله بنی بنیامین برآمدند، و مثل سابق در برابر جبعه صف آرایی نمودند. | ۳۰ |
31 And the children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city; and they began to smite and kill of the people, as at other times, in the field, in the highways, of which one goeth up to Beth-el, and the other to Gibeah, about thirty men of Israel.
| و بنی بنیامین به مقابله قوم بیرون آمده، از شهر کشیده شدند و به زدن و کشتن قوم در راهها که یکی از آنها به سوی بیت ئیل ودیگری به سوی جبعه می‌رود مثل سابق شروع کردند، و به قدر سی نفر از اسرائیل در صحراکشته شدند. | ۳۱ |
32 And the children of Benjamin said: 'They are smitten down before us, as at the first.' But the children of Israel said: 'Let us flee, and draw them away from the city unto the highways.'
| و بنی بنیامین گفتند که «ایشان مثل سابق پیش ما منهزم شدند.» اما بنی‌اسرائیل گفتند: «بگریزیم تا ایشان را از شهر به راههابکشیم.» | ۳۲ |
33 And all the men of Israel rose up out of their place, and set themselves in array at Baal-tamar; and the liers-in-wait of Israel broke forth out of their place, even out of Maareh-geba.
| و تمامی مردان اسرائیل از مکان خودبرخاسته، در بعل تامار صف آرایی نمودند، وکمین کنندگان اسرائیل از مکان خود یعنی از معره جبعه به در جستند. | ۳۳ |
34 And there came over against Gibeah ten thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and the battle was sore; but they knew not that evil was close upon them.
| و ده هزار مرد برگزیده ازتمام اسرائیل در برابر جبعه آمدند و جنگ سخت شد، و ایشان نمی دانستند که بلا بر ایشان رسیده است. | ۳۴ |
35 And the LORD smote Benjamin before Israel; and the children of Israel destroyed of Benjamin that day twenty and five thousand and a hundred men; all these drew the sword.
| و خداوند بنیامین را به حضور اسرائیل مغلوب ساخت و بنی‌اسرائیل در آن روز بیست وپنجهزار و یکصد نفر را از بنیامین هلاک ساختندکه جمیع ایشان شمشیرزن بودند. | ۳۵ |
36 So the children of Benjamin saw that they were smitten. And the men of Israel gave place to Benjamin, because they trusted unto the liers-in-wait whom they had set against Gibeah. —
| و بنی بنیامین دیدند که شکست یافته اندزیرا که مردان اسرائیل به بنیامینیان جا داده بودند، چونکه اعتماد داشتند بر کمینی که به اطراف جبعه نشانده بودند. | ۳۶ |
37 And the liers-in-wait hastened, and rushed upon Gibeah; and the liers-in-wait drew forth, and smote all the city with the edge of the sword.
| و کمین کنندگان تعجیل نموده، بر جبعه هجوم آوردند و کمین کنندگان خود را پراکنده ساخته، تمام شهر را به دم شمشیرزدند. | ۳۷ |
38 Now there was an appointed sign between the men of Israel and the liers-in-wait, that they should make a great beacon of smoke rise up out of the city. —
| و در میان مردان اسرائیل و کمین کنندگان علامتی قرار داده شد که تراکم دود بسیار بلند ازشهر برافرازند. | ۳۸ |
39 And the men of Israel turned in the battle, and Benjamin began to smite and kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons; for they said: 'Surely they are smitten down before us, as in the first battle.'
| پس چون مردان اسرائیل درجنگ رو گردانیدند، بنیامینیان شروع کردند به زدن و کشتن قریب سی نفر از مردان اسرائیل زیراگفتند یقین ایشان مثل جنگ اول از حضور ماشکست یافته‌اند. | ۳۹ |
40 But when the beacon began to arise up out of the city in a pillar of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them, and, behold, the whole of the city went up in smoke to heaven.
| و چون آن تراکم ستون دوداز شهر بلند شدن گرفت، بنیامینیان از عقب خودنگریستند و اینک تمام شهر به سوی آسمان به دود بالا می‌رود. | ۴۰ |
41 And the men of Israel turned, and the men of Benjamin were amazed; for they saw that evil was come upon them.
| و بنی‌اسرائیل برگشتند وبنیامینیان پریشان شدند، زیرا دیدند که بلا برایشان رسیده است. | ۴۱ |
42 Therefore they turned their backs before the men of Israel unto the way of the wilderness; but the battle followed hard after them; and they that came out of the city destroyed them in the midst of the men of Israel.
| پس از حضور مردان اسرائیل به راه صحرا روگردانیدند. اما جنگ، ایشان را در‌گرفت و آنانی که از شهر بیرون آمدندایشان را در میان، هلاک ساختند. | ۴۲ |
43 They inclosed the Benjamites round about, and chased them, and overtook them at their resting-place, as far as over against Gibeah toward the sunrising.
| پس بنیامینیان را احاطه کرده، ایشان را تعاقب نمودند، و در منوحه در مقابل جبعه به سوی طلوع آفتاب ایشان را پایمال کردند. | ۴۳ |
44 And there fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men; all these were men of valour.
| و هجده هزار نفر ازبنیامین که جمیع ایشان مردان جنگی بودند، افتادند. | ۴۴ |
45 And they turned and fled toward the wilderness unto the rock of Rimmon; and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men; and followed hard after them unto Gidom, and smote of them two thousand men.
| و ایشان برگشته، به سوی صحرا تاصخره رمون بگریختند. و پنج هزار نفر از ایشان را به‌سر راهها هلاک کردند، و ایشان را تا جدعوم تعاقب کرده، دو هزار نفر از ایشان را کشتند. | ۴۵ |
46 So that all who fell that day of Benjamin were twenty and five thousand men that drew the sword; all these were men of valour.
| پس جمیع کسانی که در آن روز از بنیامین افتادند، بیست و پنج هزار مرد شمشیرزن بودندکه جمیع آنها مردان جنگی بودند. | ۴۶ |
47 But six hundred men turned and fled toward the wilderness unto the rock of Rimmon, and abode in the rock of Rimmon four months.
| اما ششصدنفر برگشته، به سوی بیابان به صخره رمون فرارکردند، و در صخره رمون چهار ماه بماندند. | ۴۷ |
48 And the men of Israel turned back upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them with the edge of the sword, both the entire city, and the cattle, and all that they found; moreover all the cities which they found they set on fire.
| ومردان اسرائیل بر بنیامینیان برگشته، ایشان را به دم شمشیر کشتند، یعنی تمام اهل شهر و بهایم وهرچه را که یافتند و همچنین همه شهرهایی را که به آنها رسیدند، به آتش سوزانیدند. | ۴۸ |
