2 Samuel 15
1 And it came to pass after this, that Absalom prepared him a chariot and horses, and fifty men to run before him.
১তারপরে অবশালোম নিজের জন্য রথ, ঘোড়া ও তার আগে আগে দৌড়াবার জন্য পঞ্চাশ জন লোক রাখল৷
2 And Absalom used to rise up early, and stand beside the way of the gate; and it was so, that when any man had a suit which should come to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said: 'Of what city art thou?' And he said: 'Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel.'
২আর অবশালোম খুব ভোরে উঠে রাজ ফটকের পথের পাশে দাঁড়াত এবং যে কেউ বিচারের জন্য রাজার কাছে সমস্যার কথা জানাতে আসত, অবশালোম তাকে ডেকে জিজ্ঞাসা করত, “তুমি কোন নগরের লোক?” সে বলত, “আপনার দাস আমি ইস্রায়েলের অমুক বংশের লোক৷”
3 And Absalom said unto him: 'See, thy matters are good and right; but there is no man deputed of the king to hear thee.'
৩তখন অবশালোম তাকে বলত, “দেখ, তোমার সমস্যার কথা ভাল ও সঠিক; কিন্তু তোমার কথা শোনার মতো রাজার কোনো লোক নেই৷”
4 Absalom said moreover: 'Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man who hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice!'
৪অবশালোম আরো বলত, “হায়, আমাকে কেন দেশের বিচারকর্তাপদে নিযুক্ত করা হয়নি? তা করলে যে কোনো ব্যক্তির সমস্যা ও বিচারের কোন কথা থাকে, সে আমার কাছে আসলে আমি তার বিষয়ে ন্যায় বিচার করতাম৷”
5 And it was so, that when any man came nigh to prostrate himself before him, he put forth his hand, and took hold of him, and kissed him.
৫আর যে কেউ তার কাছে প্রণাম করতে তার কাছে আসত, সে তাকে হাত বাড়িয়ে ধরে চুম্বন করত৷
6 And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment; so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.
৬ইস্রায়েলের যত লোক বিচারের জন্য রাজার কাছে যেত, সকলের প্রতি অবশালোম এইরকম ব্যবহার করত৷ এই ভাবে অবশালোম ইস্রায়েল লোকদের মন জয় করলো৷
7 And it came to pass at the end of forty years, that Absalom said unto the king: 'I pray thee, let me go and pay my vow, which I have vowed unto the LORD, in Hebron.
৭পরে চার বছর পার হলে অবশালোম রাজাকে বলল, “অনুরোধ করি, আমি সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে যা মানত করেছি, তা পরিশোধ করতে আমাকে হিব্রোণে যেতে দিন ৷
8 For thy servant vowed a vow while I abode at Geshur in Aram, saying: If the LORD shall indeed bring me back to Jerusalem, then I will serve the LORD.'
৮কারণ আপনার দাস আমি যখন অরামের গশূরে ছিলাম, তখন মানত করে বলেছিলাম, যদি সদাপ্রভু আমাকে যিরূশালেমে ফিরিয়ে আনেন, তবে আমি সদাপ্রভুর সেবা করব৷”
9 And the king said unto him: 'Go in peace.' So he arose, and went to Hebron.
৯রাজা বললেন, “শান্তিতে যাও৷” তখনই সে উঠে হিব্রোণে চলে গেল৷
10 But Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying: 'As soon as ye hear the sound of the horn, then ye shall say: Absalom is king in Hebron.'
১০কিন্তু অবশালোম ইস্রায়েলের সমস্ত বংশের কাছে চর পাঠিয়ে বলল, “তূরীধ্বনি শোনার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে তোমরা বলবে,”
11 And with Absalom went two hundred men out of Jerusalem, that were invited, and went in their simplicity; and they knew not any thing.
১১“অবশালোম হিব্রোণের রাজা হলেন৷” আর যিরূশালেম থেকে দুশো লোক অবশালোমের সঙ্গে গেল; এদেরকে ডাকা হয়েছিল এবং সরল মনে গেল, কিছুই জানত না৷
12 And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David's counsellor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he offered the sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom.
১২পরে অবশালোম বলিদানের দিনের দায়ূদের মন্ত্রী গীলোনীয় অহীথোফলকে তার নগর থেকে, গীলো থেকে, ডেকে পাঠাল৷ আর চক্রান্ত মজবুত হল, কারণ অবশালোমের দলের লোক দিন দিন বাড়তে লাগল৷
13 And there came a messenger to David, saying: 'The hearts of the men of Israel are after Absalom.'
১৩পরে একজন দায়ূদের কাছে এসে এই খবর দিল, “ইস্রায়েল লোকেদের মন অবশালোমের অনুগামী হয়েছে৷”
14 And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem: 'Arise, and let us flee; or else none of us shall escape from Absalom; make speed to depart, lest he overtake us quickly, and bring down evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword.'
১৪তখন দায়ূদের যে সব দাস যিরূশালেমে তাঁর কাছে ছিল, তাদেরকে তিনি বললেন, “এস, আমরা উঠে পালিয়ে যাই, কারণ অবশালোম থেকে আমাদের কারও বাঁচবার উপায় নেই; তাড়াতাড়ি চল, নাহলে সে যত তাড়াতাড়ি সম্ভব আমাদের সঙ্গ ধরে আমাদেরকে বিপদে ফেলবে ও তরোয়াল দিয়ে নগরে আঘাত করবে৷”
15 And the king's servants said unto the king: 'Behold, thy servants are ready to do whatsoever my lord the king shall choose.'
১৫তাতে রাজার দাসেরা রাজাকে বলল, “দেখুন, আমাদের প্রভু মহারাজের যা ইচ্ছা হবে, তাই করতে আপনার দাসেরা তৈরী আছে৷”
16 And the king went forth, and all his household after him. And the king left ten women, that were concubines, to keep the house.
১৬পরে রাজা চলে গেলেন এবং তাঁর সমস্ত আত্মীয় তাঁর পিছনে পিছনে চলল; আর রাজা বাড়ি রক্ষার জন্য দশটি উপপত্নীকে রেখে গেলেন৷
17 And the king went forth, and all the people after him; and they tarried in Beth-merhak.
১৭রাজা চলে গেলেন ও সমস্ত লোক তাঁর পিছনে পিছনে চলল, তাঁরা বৈৎমির্হকে গিয়ে থামলেন৷
18 And all his servants passed on beside him; and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the Gittites, six hundred men that came after him from Gath, passed on before the king.
১৮পরে তাঁর সব দাস তাঁর পাশে পাশে এগিয়ে চলল এবং করেথীয় ও পলেথীয় সমস্ত লোক, আর গাতীয় সমস্ত লোক, তাঁর পিছনে পিছনে গাৎ থেকে আসা ছশো লোক, রাজার সামনে এগিয়ে চলল৷
19 Then said the king to Ittai the Gittite: 'Wherefore goest thou also with us? return, and abide with the king; for thou art a foreigner, and also an exile from thine own place.
১৯তখন রাজা গাতীয় ইত্তয়কে বললেন, “আমাদের সঙ্গে তুমিও কেন যাবে? তুমি ফিরে গিয়ে রাজার সঙ্গে বাস কর, কারণ তুমি বিদেশী এবং নির্বাসিত লোক, তুমি নিজের জায়গায় ফিরে যাও৷
20 Whereas thou camest but yesterday, should I this day make thee go up and down with us, seeing I go whither I may? return thou, and take back thy brethren with thee in kindness and truth.'
২০তুমি কালকেই এসেছ, আজ আমি কি তোমাকে আমাদের সঙ্গে নিয়ে ঘুরে বেড়াবো? আমি যেখানে পারি, সেখানে যাব; তুমি ফিরে যাও; নিজের ভাইদেরকেও নিয়ে যাও; দয়া ও সত্য তোমার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে থাকুক৷”
21 And Ittai answered the king, and said: 'As the LORD liveth, and as my lord the king liveth, surely in what place my lord the king shall be, whether for death or for life, even there also will thy servant be.'
২১ইত্তয় রাজাকে উত্তর দিলেন, “জীবন্ত সদাপ্রভুর দিব্যি এবং আমার প্রভু মহারাজের প্রাণের দিব্যি, জীবনের জন্য হোক, কিম্বা মরণের জন্য হোক, আমার প্রভু মহারাজ যেখানে থাকবেন, আপনার দাসও সেখানে অবশ্য থাকবে৷”
22 And David said to Ittai: 'Go and pass over.' And Ittai the Gittite passed over, and all his men, and all the little ones that were with him.
২২দায়ূদ ইত্তয়কে বললেন, “তবে চল, এগিয়ে যাও৷” তখন গাতীয় ইত্তয়, তাঁর সমস্ত লোক ও সঙ্গী সমস্ত ছোট ছেলে-মেয়েরা এগিয়ে চলল৷
23 And all the country wept with a loud voice, as all the people passed over; and as the king passed over the brook Kidron, all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness.
২৩দেশের সব লোক চিত্কার করে কাঁদলো ও সমস্ত লোক এগিয়ে চলল৷ রাজাও কিদ্রোণ স্রোত পার হলেন এবং সমস্ত লোক মরুপ্রান্তের পথ ধরে এগিয়ে চলল৷
24 And, lo, Zadok also came, and all the Levites with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God; and they set down the ark of God — but Abiathar went up — until all the people had done passing out of the city.
২৪আর দেখ, সাদোকও আসলেন এবং তাঁর সঙ্গে লেবীয়েরা সবাই আসল, তারা ঈশ্বরের নিয়ম সিন্দুক বহন করছিল; পরে নগর থেকে সমস্ত লোকের বেরিয়ে না আসা পর্যন্ত তারা ঈশ্বরের সিন্দুক নামিয়ে রাখল এবং অবিয়াথর উঠে গেলেন৷
25 And the king said unto Zadok: 'Carry back the ark of God into the city; if I shall find favour in the eyes of the LORD, He will bring me back, and show me both it, and His habitation;
২৫পরে রাজা সাদোককে বললেন, “তুমি ঈশ্বরের সিন্দুক আবার নগরে নিয়ে যাও; যদি সদাপ্রভুর চোখে আমি অনুগ্রহ পাই, তবে তিনি আমাকে পুনরায় এনে সেটা ও তাঁর বাসস্থান দেখাবেন৷
26 but if He say thus: I have no delight in thee; behold, here am I, let Him do to me as seemeth good unto Him.'
২৬কিন্তু যদি তিনি এই কথা বলেন, ‘তোমার প্রতি আমি সন্তুষ্ট নই,’ তবে দেখ, এই আমি, তাঁর চোখে যা ভাল, আমার প্রতি তাই করুন৷”
27 The king said also unto Zadok the priest: 'Seest thou? return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz thy son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar.
২৭রাজা সাদোক যাজককে আরও বললেন, “তুমি দেখছ? তুমি শান্তিতে নগরে ফিরে যাও এবং তোমার ছেলে অহীমাস ও অবিয়াথরের ছেলে যোনাথন, তোমাদের এই দুই ছেলে তোমাদের সঙ্গে যাক৷
28 See, I will tarry in the plains of the wilderness, until there come word from you to announce unto me.'
২৮দেখ, যতদিন তোমাদের কাছ থেকে আমার কাছে ঠিক খবর না আসে, ততদিন আমি মরুপ্রান্তের পারঘাটায় থেকে অপেক্ষা করব৷”
29 Zadok therefore and Abiathar carried the ark of God back to Jerusalem; and they abode there.
২৯অতএব সাদোক ও অবিয়াথর ঈশ্বরের সিন্দুক আবার যিরূশালেমে নিয়ে গিয়ে সেখানে রাখলেন৷
30 And David went up by the ascent of the mount of Olives, and wept as he went up; and he had his head covered, and went barefoot; and all the people that were with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up.
৩০পরে দায়ূদ জৈতুন পর্বতের উপরের দিকে পথ দিয়ে উঠলেন; তিনি উঠবার দিনের কাঁদতে কাঁদতে চললেন; তাঁর মুখ ডাকা ও পা খালি ছিল এবং তাঁর সঙ্গীরা সবাই নিজেদের মুখ ঢেকে রেখেছিল এবং উঠবার দিনের কাঁদতে কাঁদতে চলল৷
31 And one told David, saying: 'Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.' And David said: 'O LORD, I pray Thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.'
৩১পরে কেউ দায়ূদকে বলল, “অবশালোমের সঙ্গে চক্রান্তকারীদের মধ্যে অহীথোফলও আছে,” তখন দায়ূদ বললেন, “হে সদাপ্রভু, অনুগ্রহ করে অহীথোফলের পরিকল্পনাকে বোকামিতে পরিণত করো৷”
32 And it came to pass, that when David was come to the top of the ascent, where God was wont to be worshipped, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head.
৩২পরে যেখানে লোকেরা ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশ্যে প্রণাম করত, দায়ূদ পর্বতের সেই চূড়ায় উপস্থিত হলে দেখ, অর্কীয় হূশয় ছেঁড়া পোশাক পড়ে মাথায় মাটি দিয়ে দায়ূদের সঙ্গে দেখা করতে আসলেন৷
33 And David said unto him: 'If thou passest on with me, then thou wilt be a burden unto Me;
৩৩দায়ূদ তাঁকে বললেন, “তুমি যদি আমার সঙ্গে এগিয়ে চল, তবে আমার কাছে বোঝা হবে৷
34 but if thou return to the city, and say unto Absalom: I will be thy servant, O king; as I have been thy father's servant in time past, so will I now be thy servant; then wilt thou defeat for me the counsel of Ahithophel.
৩৪কিন্তু যদি নগরে ফিরে গিয়ে অবশালোমকে বল, ‘হে রাজা, আমি আপনার দাস হব, এর আগে যেমন আপনার বাবার দাস ছিলাম, তেমনি এখন আপনার দাস হব,’ তা হলে তুমি আমার জন্য অহীথোফলের পরিকল্পনা ব্যর্থ করতে পারবে৷
35 And hast thou not there with thee Zadok and Abiathar the priests? therefore it shall be, that what thing soever thou shalt hear out of the king's house, thou shalt tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests.
৩৫সেখানে সাদোক ও অবিয়াথর, এই দুই যাজক কি তোমার সঙ্গে থাকবেন না? অতএব তুমি রাজবাড়ির যে কোনো কথা শুনবে, তা সাদোক ও অবিয়াথর যাজককে বলবে৷
36 Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadok's son, and Jonathan Abiathar's son; and by them ye shall send unto me every thing that ye shall hear.'
৩৬দেখ, সেখানে তাঁদের সঙ্গে তাঁদের দুই ছেলে, সাদোকের ছেলে অহীমাস ও অবিয়াথরের ছেলে যোনাথন আছে; তোমরা যে কোন কথা শুনবে, তাদের মাধ্যমে আমার কাছে তার খবর পাঠিয়ে দেবে৷”
37 So Hushai David's friend came into the city; and Absalom was at the point of coming into Jerusalem.
৩৭অতএব দায়ূদের বন্ধু হূশয়, নগরে গেলেন আর অবশালোম যিরূশালেমে প্রবেশ করলেন৷
