2 Chronicles 28

1 Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem; and he did not that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, like David his father;

೧ಆಹಾಜನು ಪಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವನು ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ವರ್ಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹದಿನಾರು ವರ್ಷ ಆಳಿದನು. ಅವನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಚಿತ್ತಾನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ತನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕನಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟನು.

2 but he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made also molten images for the Baalim.

೨ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ರಾಜರ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದು, ಬಾಳ್ ದೇವರುಗಳ ಎರಕದ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿದ್ದಲ್ಲದೆ

3 Moreover he offered in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt his children in the fire, according to the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

೩ಅವನು ಬೆನ್ ಹಿನ್ನೋಮ್ ಎಂಬ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಧೂಪ ಹಾಕಿಸಿದ್ದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಎದುರಿನಿಂದ ಓಡಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟ ಅನ್ಯಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಅಸಹ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಅಗ್ನಿಪ್ರವೇಶ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದನು.

4 And he sacrificed and offered in the high places, and on the hills, and under every leafy tree.

೪ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲೂ, ಗುಡ್ಡಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹಸಿರು ಮರಗಳ ಕೆಳಗೂ ಯಜ್ಞಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಧೂಪಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.

5 Wherefore the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Aram; and they smote him, and carried away of his a great multitude of captives, and brought them to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who smote him with a great slaughter.

೫ಈ ಕಾರಣ ಅವನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು, ಅವನನ್ನು ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿ, ಅವನ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳಷ್ಟುಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಹಿಡಿದು ದಮಸ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಒಯ್ದರು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ರಾಜನ ಕೈಗೂ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು, ಅವನಿಂದಲೂ ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಅಪಜಯ ಹೊಂದಿದನು.

6 For Pekah the son of Remaliah slew in Judah a hundred and twenty thousand in one day, all of them valiant men; because they had forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers.

೬ರೆಮಲ್ಯನ ಮಗನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಅರಸನು ಆದ ಪೆಕಹ ಎಂಬವನು ಒಂದೇ ದಿನ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಲಕ್ಷದ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಿದನು. ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಯುದ್ಧವೀರರು. ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ತೊರೆದು ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿತ್ತು.

7 And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, slew Maaseiah the king's son, and Azrikam the ruler of the house, and Elkanah that was next to the king.

೭ರಾಜಪುತ್ರನಾದ ಮಾಸೇಯ, ರಾಜಗೃಹಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಅಜ್ರೀಕಾಮ್, ರಾಜಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಯಾದ ಎಲ್ಕಾನ ಎಂಬುವವರನ್ನು ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ ದೇಶದ ಜಿಕ್ರಿಯೆಂಬ ಶೂರನು ಕೊಂದನು.

8 And the children of Israel carried away captive of their brethren two hundred thousand women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much spoil from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria.

೮ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ತಮ್ಮ ಬಂಧುಗಳಾದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಲಕ್ಷ ಹೆಂಗಸರನ್ನೂ, ಗಂಡು, ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಸೆರೆಹಿಡಿದು, ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯನ್ನೂ ಸೂರೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಮಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಒಯ್ದರು.

9 But a prophet of the LORD was there, whose name was Oded; and he went out to meet the host that came to Samaria, and said unto them: 'Behold, because the LORD, the God of your fathers, was wroth with Judah, He hath delivered them into your hand, and ye have slain them in a rage which hath reached up unto heaven.

೯ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಿದ್ದನು; ಅ ವನ ಹೆಸರು ಓದೇದ್. ಅವನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸೈನ್ಯದವರನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಅವರನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟನಷ್ಟೆ. ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ರೌದ್ರವು ಆಕಾಶವನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿತು.

10 And now ye purpose to bring the children of Judah and Jerusalem into subjection for bondmen and bondwomen unto you; but are there not even with you acts of guilt of your own against the LORD your God?

೧೦ಇದು ಸಾಲದೆಂದು ನೀವು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರನ್ನು, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರನ್ನೂ ಬಲಾತ್ಕರಿಸಿ ದಾಸರನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ, ದಾಸಿಯರನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾದ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲವೇ?

11 Now hear me therefore, and send back the captives, that ye have taken captive of your brethren; for the fierce wrath of the LORD is upon you.'

೧೧ಈಗ ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರಿಂದ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ತಂದವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ; ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಕೋಪಾಗ್ನಿಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಉರಿಯುತ್ತದೆಯಷ್ಟೇ” ಎಂದನು.

12 Then certain of the heads of the children of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Jehohanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up against them that came from the war,

೧೨ಆಗ ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖಂಡರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಯೆಹೋಹಾನಾನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಜರ್ಯ, ಮೆಷಿಲ್ಲೇಮೋತನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆರಕ್ಯ, ಶಲ್ಲೂಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯ, ಹದ್ಲೈಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಮಾಸ ಎಂಬುವವರು ಯುದ್ಧದಿಂದ ಬರುವವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತು,

13 and said unto them: 'Ye shall not bring in the captives hither; for ye purpose that which will bring upon us guilt against the LORD, to add unto our sins and to our guilt; for our guilt is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.'

೧೩ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಸೆರೆಹಿಡಿದವರನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ತರಬೇಡಿರಿ; ನೀವು ನಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾದ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಅಪರಾಧವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವಿರಾ? ನಮ್ಮ ಅಪರಾಧವು ದೊಡ್ಡದು; ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ದೈವಕೋಪವು ಉಗ್ರವಾಗಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

14 So the armed men left the captives and the spoil before the princes and all the congregation.

೧೪ಭಟರು ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಸೆರೆಯವರನ್ನೂ, ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯನ್ನು ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮೂಹದವರ ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಚರು.

15 And the men that have been mentioned by name rose up, and took the captives, and with the spoil clothed all that were naked among them, and arrayed them, and shod them, and gave them to eat and to drink, and anointed them, and carried all the feeble of them upon asses, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm-trees, unto their brethren; then they returned to Samaria.

೧೫ಆಗ ಹೆಸರು ಕೂಗಿದ ಪುರುಷರು ಎದ್ದು ಬಂದು ಸೆರೆಯವರಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆತ್ತಲೆಯಾದವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯಿಂದ ಉಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಕಾಲಿಗೆ ಚಪ್ಪಲಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಅನ್ನಪಾನಗಳನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು ತೈಲಹಚ್ಚಿದರು. ಬಳಲಿ ಹೋದವರನ್ನು ಕತ್ತೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳ್ಳಿರಿಸಿ, ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಯೆರಿಕೋವೆಂಬ ಖರ್ಜೂರ ನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ, ಅವರ ಬಂಧುಗಳ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಸಮಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದರು.

16 At that time did king Ahaz send unto the kings of Assyria to help him.

೧೬ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಹಾಜನು ತನಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ರಾಜರನ್ನು ದೂತರ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.

17 For again the Edomites had come and smitten Judah, and carried away captives.

೧೭ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಎದೋಮ್ಯರು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿ ಅನೇಕ ಜನರನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಒಯ್ದಿದ್ದರು.

18 The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the Lowland, and of the South of Judah, and had taken Beth-shemesh, and Aijalon, and Gederoth, and Soco with the towns thereof, and Timnah with the towns thereof, Gimzo also and the towns thereof; and they dwelt there.

೧೮ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಯೆಹೂದದ ತಗ್ಗಾದ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಮತ್ತು ದಕ್ಷಿಣಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಬೇತ್‌ಷೆಮೆಷ್‌, ಅಯ್ಯಾಲೋನ್, ಗೆದೇರೋತ್ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸೋಕೋ, ತಿಮ್ನಾ, ಗಿಮ್ಜೋ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಇವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

19 For the LORD brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel; for he had cast away restraint in Judah, and acted treacherously against the LORD.

೧೯ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರನ್ನು ಅಧರ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ದ್ರೋಹಮಾಡಿದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ರಾಜನಾದ ಆಹಾಜನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರನ್ನು ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರವಾಗಿ ತಗ್ಗಿಸಿದನು.

20 And Tillegath-pilneser king of Assyria came unto him, and distressed him, but strengthened him not.

೨೦ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಾದ ತಿಗ್ಲತ್ಪಿಲೆಸರನು ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ನೆರವಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕುಗ್ಗಿಸಿದನು.

21 For Ahaz stripped the house of the LORD, and the house of the king and the princes, and gave thereof unto the king of Assyria; but it helped him not.

೨೧ಆಹಾಜನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದ ಅರಮನೆಯ ಪ್ರಭುಗಳ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸೂರೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ ಅವನಿಂದ ಏನೂ ಸಹಾಯವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.

22 And in the time of his distress did he act even more treacherously against the LORD, this same king Ahaz.

೨೨ಕಷ್ಟ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಹಾಜನು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ದ್ರೋಹಿಯಾದನು.

23 For he sacrificed unto the gods of Damascus, which smote him; and he said: 'Because the gods of the kings of Aram helped them, therefore will I sacrifice to them, that they may help me.' But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel.

೨೩ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ “ಅರಾಮ್ ರಾಜರ ದೇವತೆಗಳು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಜಯವನ್ನು ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸುವೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದು; ನಾನೂ ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಯಜ್ಞಸಮರ್ಪಿಸುವೆನು, ಆಗ ನನಗೂ ಜಯವಾಗುವುದು” ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಅಪಜಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದ್ದ ದಮಸ್ಕದ ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಯಜ್ಞಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಆ ದೇವತೆಗಳ ದೆಸೆಯಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೂ ಕೇಡು ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು.

24 And Ahaz gathered together the vessels of the house of God, and cut in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and shut up the doors of the house of the LORD; and he made him altars in every corner of Jerusalem.

೨೪ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಆಹಾಜನು ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಡೆದುಹಾಕಿದನು; ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮೂಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿದನು.

25 And in every city of Judah he made high places to offer unto other gods, and provoked the LORD, the God of his fathers.

೨೫ಅನ್ಯದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಧೂಪಹಾಕುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದನು. ಹೀಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ರೇಗಿಸಿದನು.

26 Now the rest of his acts, and all his ways, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.

೨೬ಆಹಾಜನ ಉಳಿದ ಪೂರ್ವೋತ್ತರ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಡಿದ ಅವನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳೂ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಮತ್ತು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ರಾಜ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ.

27 And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, even in Jerusalem; for they brought him not into the sepulchres of the kings of Israel; and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.

೨೭ಆಹಾಜನು ತನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಲು ಅವನನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ರಾಜಸ್ಮಶಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಣಿಡದೆ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಗಣ ಒಂದು ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಣಿಟ್ಟರು, ಅವನ ನಂತರ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಅರಸನಾದನು.
