Matthew 1
1 THE book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
૧ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્ત જે ઇબ્રાહિમનાં દીકરા, જે દાઉદના દીકરા, તેમની વંશાવળી.
2 Abraham begat Isaac, and Isaac begat Jacob, and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren,
૨ઇબ્રાહિમ ઇસહાકનો પિતા, ઇસહાક યાકૂબનો પિતા, યાકૂબ યહૂદા તથા તેના ભાઈઓનો પિતા,
3 and Judas begat Phares, and Zara of Thamar, and Phares begat Esrom, and Esrom begat Aram;
૩યહૂદા તથા તામારથી થયેલા પેરેસ અને ઝેરાહ, પેરેસ હેસ્રોનનો પિતા, હેસ્રોન આરામનો પિતા.
4 and Aram begat Amminadab, and Amminadab begat Naasson, and Naasson begat Salmon,
૪આરામ આમ્મીનાદાબનો પિતા, આમ્મીનાદાબ નાહશોનનો પિતા, નાહશોન સલ્મોનનો પિતા,
5 and Salmon begat Boaz of Rachab, and Boaz begat Obed of Ruth, and Obed begat Jesse,
૫સલ્મોન બોઆઝનો પિતા અને રાહાબ તેની માતા, બોઆઝ ઓબેદનો પિતા અને રૂથ તેની માતા, ઓબેદ યિશાઈનો પિતા અને
6 and Jesse begat David the king, and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias,
૬યિશાઈ દાઉદ રાજાનો પિતા હતો. દાઉદ સુલેમાનનો પિતા હતો જેની મા પહેલા ઉરિયાની પત્ની હતી.
7 and Solomon begat Roboam, and Roboam begat Abia, and Abia begat Asa,
૭સુલેમાન રહાબામનો પિતા, રહાબામ અબિયાનો પિતા, અબિયા આસાનો પિતા,
8 and Asa begat Josaphat, and Josaphat begat Joram, and Joram begat Ozias,
૮આસા યહોશાફાટનો પિતા, યહોશાફાટ યોરામનો પિતા, યોરામ ઉઝિયાનો પિતા હતો.
9 and Ozias begat Joatham, and Joatham begat Ahaz, and Ahaz begat Hezekias,
૯ઉઝિયા યોથામનો પિતા, યોથામ આહાઝનો પિતા, આહાઝ હિઝકિયાનો પિતા,
10 and Hezekias begat Manasses, and Manasses begat Amon, and Amon begat Josias,
૧૦હિઝકિયા મનાશ્શાનો પિતા, મનાશ્શા આમોનનો પિતા, આમોન યોશિયાનો પિતા, અને
11 and Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon,
૧૧બાબિલના બંદીવાસને સમયે યોશિયા યખોન્યા તથા તેના ભાઈઓનો પિતા હતો.
12 and after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel, and Salathiel begat Zorobabel,
૧૨અને બાબિલના બંદીવાસ પછી, યખોન્યા શાલ્તીએલનો પિતા, શાલ્તીએલ ઝરુબ્બાબેલનો પિતા,
13 and Zorobabel begat Abiud, and Abiud begat Eliakim, and Eliakim begat Azor,
૧૩ઝરુબ્બાબેલ અબીઉદનો પિતા, અબીઉદ એલિયાકીમનો પિતા, એલિયાકીમ આઝોરનો પિતા,
14 and Azor begat Sadoc, and Sadoc begat Achim, and Achim begat Eliud,
૧૪આઝોર સાદોકનો પિતા, સાદોક આખીમનો પિતા, આખીમ અલિયુદનો પિતા.
15 and Eliud begat Eleazar, and Eleazar begat Matthan, and Matthan begat Jacob,
૧૫અલિયુદ એલાઝારનો પિતા, એલાઝાર મથ્થાનનો પિતા, મથ્થાન યાકૂબનો પિતા, અને
16 and Jacob begat Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom is born Jesus, who is called Christ.
૧૬યાકૂબ યૂસફનો પિતા, યૂસફ જે મરિયમનો પતિ હતો; અને મરિયમથી ઈસુ જે ખ્રિસ્ત કહેવાય છે તે જનમ્યાં.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, and from David to the carrying away into Babylon fourteen generations, and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ fourteen generations.
૧૭ઇબ્રાહિમથી દાઉદ સુધી બધી મળીને ચૌદ પેઢી થઈ, દાઉદથી બાબિલના બંદીવાસ સુધી ચૌદ પેઢી, અને બાબિલના બંદીવાસથી ખ્રિસ્તનાં સમય સુધી ચૌદ પેઢી થઈ.
18 Now the generation of Jesus Christ was attended with these circumstances: His mother Mary being betrothed to Joseph, before they cohabited together, she was found with child from the Holy Spirit.
૧૮ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનો જન્મ આ પ્રમાણે થયો. તેમની મા મરિયમની સગાઈ યૂસફ સાથે થયા પછી, તેઓનો શારીરિક સંબંધ થયા અગાઉ તે પવિત્ર આત્માથી ગર્ભવતી થયેલી જણાઈ.
19 Then Joseph her husband being a just man, and not willing to expose her publicly, designed to put her away privately.
૧૯તેનો પતિ યૂસફ એક પ્રામાણિક માણસ હતો, પણ તે જાહેરમાં તેનું અપમાન કરવા ન ચાહતો હતો. તેથી તેણે ગુપ્ત રીતે તેની સાથે સગાઈ તોડી નાખવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો.
20 And as he was revolving the matter in his mind, behold, an angel of the Lord in a dream appeared unto him, saying, Joseph, son of David, fear not to take Mary for thy wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
૨૦જયારે તે એ બાબત વિશે વિચારતો હતો, ત્યારે પ્રભુનો દૂત તેને સ્વપ્નમાં દેખાયો અને કહ્યું કે, “યૂસફ, દાઉદના દીકરા, તું તારી પત્ની મરિયમને તેડી લાવવાને બીશ નહિ; કેમ કે તેના ગર્ભમાં જે બાળક છે તે પવિત્ર આત્માથી છે.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins.
૨૧તેને દીકરો થશે અને તું તેમનું નામ ઈસુ પાડશે, કેમ કે તે પોતાના લોકોને તેઓનાં પાપથી ઉદ્ધાર કરશે.”
22 Now the whole of this was done, that what was spoken of the Lord, by the prophet, might be fulfilled, saying,
૨૨હવે એ બધું એ માટે થયું કે, પ્રભુએ પ્રબોધક દ્વારા જે કહ્યું હતું તે પૂરું થાય, એટલે,
23 “A virgin shall be with child and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel,” which is being interpreted, God with us.
૨૩“જુઓ, કુંવારી ગર્ભવતી થશે, તેને દીકરો થશે અને તેનું નામ તેઓ ઇમ્માનુએલ પાડશે, જેનો અર્થ એ છે કે, ‘ઈશ્વર આપણી સાથે.”
24 Then Joseph when arisen from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took his wife;
૨૪ત્યારે યૂસફે ઊંઘમાંથી ઊઠીને જેમ પ્રભુના સ્વર્ગદૂતે તેને આજ્ઞા આપી હતી તેમ કર્યું; તે પોતાની પત્નીને તેડી લાવ્યો.
25 and he knew her not, until she had brought forth her son, the first begotten, and he called his name Jesus.
૨૫મરિયમને દીકરો થયો ત્યાં સુધી યૂસફે મરિયમની સાથે શારીરિક સંબંધ કર્યો નહિ; અને તેણે તેમનું નામ ઈસુ પાડ્યું.
