John 3
1 NOW there was a man of the Pharisees, whose name was Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
பரிசேயர்களில் நிக்கொதேமு என்னும் பெயருடைய ஒரு மனிதன் இருந்தான். அவன் யூத ஆளுநர் குழுவின் உறுப்பினரில் ஒருவன்.
2 this man came to Jesus in the night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles which thou dost, unless God be with him.
அவன் ஒரு இரவிலே இயேசுவினிடத்தில் வந்து, “போதகரே, நீர் இறைவனிடத்திலிருந்து வந்த ஒரு போதகர் என்று எங்களுக்குத் தெரியும். ஏனெனில் இறைவன் ஒருவரோடு இல்லாவிட்டால், நீர் செய்கிற அடையாளங்களைச் செய்யமுடியாது” என்றான்.
3 Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
இயேசு அதற்குப் பதிலாக, “ஒருவர் மறுபடியும் பிறக்காவிட்டால், இறைவனுடைய அரசை அவரால் காணமுடியாது என்று மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே நான் உனக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்” என்றார்.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
அப்பொழுது நிக்கொதேமு இயேசுவிடம், “வயதான ஒருவர் மீண்டும் பிறப்பது எப்படி? அவர் மீண்டும் பிறப்பதற்காக, தமது தாயின் கர்ப்பத்தில் இரண்டாவது முறை போகமுடியாதே” என்றான்.
5 Jesus replied, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
இயேசு அதற்குப் பதிலாக, “மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே, ஒருவர் தண்ணீரினாலும் ஆவியானவரினாலும் பிறவாவிட்டால், அவர் இறைவனுடைய அரசுக்குள் செல்லமுடியாது என்று நான் உனக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
மாமிசம், மாமிசத்தைப் பிறப்பிக்கிறது. ஆனால் ஆவியானவரோ, ஆவியை பிறப்பிக்கிறார்.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
‘நீங்கள் மறுபடியும் பிறக்க வேண்டும்’ என்று நான் உனக்குச் சொன்ன வார்த்தையைக் குறித்து நீ வியப்படையக் கூடாது.
8 The wind bloweth where it will, and thou hearest the sound of it, but knowest not from whence it cometh, nor whither it goeth: just so is every one who is born of the Spirit.
காற்று தான் விரும்பிய இடத்தை நோக்கியே வீசுகிறது; அதன் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்கிறீர்கள். ஆனால் அது எங்கிருந்து வருகிறது என்றோ, அது எங்கே போகிறது என்றோ உங்களால் சொல்லமுடியாது. ஆவியானவரால் பிறந்த ஒவ்வொரு பிறப்பும் இப்படியே” என்றார்.
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
அப்பொழுது நிக்கொதேமு, “இது எப்படி ஆகும்?” என்று கேட்டான்.
10 Jesus answered and said to him, Art thou a teacher of Israel, and knowest not these things?
இயேசு அவனிடம், “நீ இஸ்ரயேலரில் போதகனாய் இருக்கிறாயே, உன்னால் இவைகளை விளங்கிக்கொள்ள முடியவில்லையா?
11 Verily, verity, I tell thee, That what we know we speak, and what we have seen we affirm; and ye receive not our testimony.
நான் உனக்கு மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே சொல்கிறேன், நாங்கள் அறிந்ததைப் பேசுகிறோம். நாங்கள் கண்டதைக் குறித்துச் சாட்சி சொல்கிறோம். ஆனால் நீங்களோ எங்களுடைய சாட்சியை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாமல் இருக்கிறீர்கள்.
12 If I have told you of earthly things, and ye believe not, how will you believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
பூமிக்குரிய காரியங்களைக்குறித்தே நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னேன், நீங்கள் அதை விசுவாசிக்காமல் இருக்கிறீர்கள்; அப்படியிருக்க பரலோக காரியங்களைக்குறித்து நான் பேசினால், அதை நீங்கள் எப்படி விசுவாசிப்பீர்கள்?
13 Though no man hath ascended into heaven, except he that descended from heaven, that Son of man the I am in heaven.
பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வந்த மானிடமகனாகிய என்னைத்தவிர, ஒருவரும் ஒருபோதும் பரலோகத்திற்குள் சென்றதில்லை.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, in like manner must the Son of man be lifted up:
பாலைவனத்திலே மோசே பாம்பை உயர்த்தியதுபோல, மானிடமனாகிய நானும் உயர்த்தப்பட வேண்டும்.
அப்போது மானிடமகனாகிய என்மீது விசுவாசமாயிருக்கிற ஒவ்வொருவரும், நித்திய ஜீவனைப் பெறுவார்கள்.” (aiōnios g166)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that every one who believeth in him should not perish, but have life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
இறைவன் தமது ஒரே மகனை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து அவரில் விசுவாசிக்கிற ஒருவரும் அழிந்து போகாமல் நித்திய ஜீவனைப் பெறும்படி இவ்வளவாய் உலகத்தினரை அன்புகூர்ந்தார். (aiōnios g166)
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world by him might be saved.
உலகத்தைக் குற்றவாளி என்று தீர்ப்பதற்காக இறைவன் தமது மகனை அனுப்பாமல், தமது மகனின் மூலமாய் உலகத்தவர்களை இரட்சிப்பதற்காகவே அனுப்பினார்.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is already under condemnation, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.
இறைவனுடைய மகனில் விசுவாசிக்கிற யாவருக்கும் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு இல்லை. ஆனால் அவரை விசுவாசிக்காதவருக்கோ ஏற்கெனவே நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு வழங்கப்பட்டு விட்டது. ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் இறைவனுடைய ஒரே மகனின் பெயரில் விசுவாசம் வைக்கவில்லை.
19 Now this is the condemnation, that the light is come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.
அந்த நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு என்னவென்றால்: உலகத்திற்குள் வெளிச்சம் வந்தது. மனிதர் வெளிச்சத்தை அல்ல, இருளையே விரும்பினார்கள். ஏனெனில் அவர்களது செயல்கள் தீயவைகளாய் இருந்தன.
20 For every one whose practices are foul hateth the light, and cometh not to the light, that his actions may not be brought to conviction.
தீயசெயலைச் செய்கிற ஒவ்வொருவரும் வெளிச்சத்தை வெறுக்கிறார்கள். தமது தீய செயல்கள் வெளியரங்கமாகிவிடும் என்று அவர்கள் வெளிச்சத்திற்குள் வரமாட்டார்கள்.
21 But he who practices the truth, cometh to the light, that his actions may be evident, as being done for God.
ஆனால் சத்தியத்தின்படி வாழ்கிறவர்களோ வெளிச்சத்திற்குள் வருகிறார்கள். தமது செயல்கள் எல்லாம் இறைவனுக்குள்ளாகவே செய்யப்பட்டிருப்பதால், அது தெளிவாய்த் தெரியும்படி அவர்கள் வெளிச்சத்திற்குள் வருகிறார்கள் என்றார்.
22 After these things Jesus and his disciples went into the land of Judea; and there he abode with them, and baptised.
இதற்குப் பின்பு, இயேசுவும் அவருடைய சீடர்களும் யூதேயாவின் நாட்டுப் புறத்துக்குச் சென்றார்கள். அங்கே இயேசு சிறிதுகாலம் அவர்களுடன் தங்கி, மக்களுக்குத் திருமுழுக்கு கொடுத்து வந்தார்.
23 Now John also was baptising at Enon, near to Salem, for there were many streams of water there: and they came, and were baptised.
யோவானும் சாலிமுக்கு அருகே இருந்த அயினோன் என்ற இடத்தில் திருமுழுக்கு கொடுத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தான். ஏனெனில் அங்கே தண்ணீர் அதிகமாய் இருந்ததுடன், திருமுழுக்கு பெறும்படி மக்களும் தொடர்ச்சியாக வந்து கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
24 For as yet John was not cast into prison.
இது யோவான் சிறையில் போடப்படும் முன்னே நடைபெற்றது.
25 Then a dispute arose between the disciples of John and the Jews with regard to purification.
யோவானுடைய சீடர்களுக்கும் சில யூதர்களுக்கும் இடையில் சடங்காச்சார சுத்திகரிப்பைக் குறித்து விவாதம் ஏற்பட்டது.
26 And they came to John, and said to him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou gavest testimony, lo! this man baptiseth, and all men come to him.
யோவானுடைய சீடர்கள் யோவானிடத்தில் வந்து அவனிடம், “போதகரே, யோர்தானுக்கு அக்கரையில் உம்மோடிருந்த ஒருவரைக் குறித்து நீர் சாட்சி கொடுத்தீரே. அவரும் திருமுழுக்கு கொடுக்கிறார். எல்லோரும் அவரிடத்தில் போய்க்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்களே” என்றார்கள்.
27 John answered and said, A man cannot assume any thing, except it be given him from heaven.
யோவான் அதற்குப் பதிலாக, “ஒருவர், பரலோகத்திலிருந்து கொடுக்கப்படுவதை மட்டுமே பெற்றுக்கொள்ள முடியும்.
28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Messiah, but that I am sent before him.
‘நான் கிறிஸ்து அல்ல, அவருக்கு முன்பாக அனுப்பப்பட்டவன்’ என்று நான் சொன்னதற்கு நீங்களே எனக்குச் சாட்சிகள்.
29 It is the bridegroom, who possesses the bride: and the friend of the bridegroom, standing by and hearing him, rejoiceth exceedingly at the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
மணவாளனுக்கே மணப்பெண் உரியவள். மணவாளனின் தோழனோ, மணவாளனின் அருகே நின்று அவன் சொல்வதைக் கேட்கிறான். அவன் மணவாளனுடைய குரலைக் கேட்டு மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறான். அந்த மகிழ்ச்சியே எனக்குரியது. அது இப்போது நிறைவடைந்தது.
30 He must grow great, but I diminutive.
அவரோ மிகுதிப்பட வேண்டும்; நானோ குறைந்துபோக வேண்டும்.
31 He that cometh from above is above all: he whose origin is from earth is of the earth, and speaketh of the earth: he who cometh from heaven is above all.
“மேலே இருந்து வருகிறவர் எல்லோருக்கும் மேலானவராகவே இருக்கிறார்; கீழே பூமியிலிருந்து வருகிறவனோ பூமிக்கே சொந்தமாயிருக்கிறான். அவன் பூமிக்குரிய காரியங்களைப் பேசுகிறான். பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வருகிறவரோ எல்லோரிலும் மேன்மையானவராகவே இருக்கிறார்.
32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; though no man receiveth his testimony.
அவர் தாம் கண்டதையும் கேட்டதையும் குறித்து சாட்சி கூறுகிறார். ஆனால் அவருடைய சாட்சியையோ ஒருவரும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறதில்லை.
33 He that receiveth his testimony hath avouched that God is true.
அவருடைய சாட்சியை ஏற்றுக் கொள்கிறவர்களோ, இறைவன் உண்மை உள்ளவர் என்று உறுதிப்படுத்துகிறார்கள்.
34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God hath not given the Spirit by measure unto him.
இறைவனால் அனுப்பப்பட்டவரோ இறைவனுடைய வார்த்தைகளைப் பேசுகிறார். ஏனெனில், இறைவன் அவருக்கு ஆவியானவரை அளவின்றிக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்.
35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
பிதா மகனை நேசிக்கிறார். அவர் எல்லாவற்றையும் மகனுடைய கைகளிலே ஒப்படைத்திருக்கிறார்.
36 He that believeth on the Son hath life eternal: and he that believeth not on the Son shall not see life: but the wrath of God abideth upon him. (aiōnios g166)
இறைவனின் மகனில் விசுவாசமாயிருக்கிறவர் எவரோ, அவருக்கு நித்திய ஜீவன் உண்டு. இறைவனின் மகனைப் புறக்கணிக்கிறவர் எவரோ, அவர்கள் அந்த ஜீவனைக் காணமாட்டார்கள். ஏனெனில் இறைவனுடைய கோபம் அவர்கள்மேல் நிலைத்திருக்கும்” என்றான். (aiōnios g166)
