< John 5 >

1 After this, there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Hiche jou chun, Judah ho kut nikho thengho jeh'in Yeshua chu Jerusalem'a akile kit in ahi.
2 Near the Sheep Gate in Jerusalem, there is a pool, which is called Bethesda in Hebrew. It’s surrounded by five covered colonnades.
Khopi sunglam'a kelngoi kotphung koma chun, Bethsaida kiti twikul khat aum in akimvel'a chu leibuh nga kisa ahi.
3 In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, or paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water,
Hiche mun'a chu ana damlou mitcho, elbai, langthi, chatmo tampi lum ahiuve, ajehchu twi kicholing ngah jing'a um ahiuve.
4 for an angel went down from time to time into the pool and stirred up the water. Whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease that person had.
Ajeh chu phatkhat kom kom leh Pakai Vantil hungkum lha jia, twi chu acholing ji ahi; chuleh twi kicholoh nung'a twilah'a kumlha masapen pen chu itobang natna hijong leh damhel ji ahi.
5 A certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.
Hilai mun'a umho lah'a mikhat chu kum somthum leh kum get jen nakong chatmo'a lum ahitai.
6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had already been sick for a long time, He asked him, “Do you want to be made well?”
Yeshuan amapa chu amun, kum sottah damlou va um ahi ahen, amapa jah'a, “Nadam nom em?” ati.
7 The sick man answered, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I’m coming, another steps down before me.”
Nakong chatmo pa chun, “Pu kadam joulou hila, twi akicholing teng twikul'a eikoi lhavah ding mi kaneipon, keima kacheji le kalhun masangin midang amasa jitai,” ati.
8 Jesus told him, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk.”
Chuin Yeshuan ajah'a, “Kipat doh in nalupna pheh kichoiyin lam jottan,” ati.
9 Immediately, the man was made well, took up his mat, and walked. That was on the Sabbath day.
Apettah chun mipa chu adamtan ahi, hichun aman alupna pheh chu akijel doh in lam ajottai, hiche thil kidang aso ni chu Cholngahni ahi.
10 Therefore the Jews were telling him who was cured, “It’s the Sabbath, and it isn’t legal for you to carry your mat.”
Hijeh chun Judah vaipo hon hichu ajadauvin, akisu dampa jah'a “Cholngah nikho'a natoh phal ahipoi, nangman nalupna pheh nakichoiya lam najot chu dan ngai ahipoi,” atiuve.
11 He answered them, “He who made me well told me, ‘Take up your mat and walk.’”
Ahivangin amapan adonbut'in ajah'a, “Eisudampa amatah in kajah'a nalupna kichoiyin lam jottan eiti chula em,” ati.
12 Then they asked him, “Who told you to ‘Take up your mat and walk’?”
Chuin amahon, “Koi ham najah'a chutia sei chu?” atiuve.
13 The man who had been healed didn’t know who it was, because Jesus had disappeared into the crowd.
Ahinla mipa chun, asudampa chu koi ahi ahepoi, ajeh chu Yeshua mipi lah'a achelut mangtan ahi.
14 Later, Jesus found him in the temple and told him, “See, you have been made well! Don’t sin any more, so that nothing worse happens to you.”
Ahivangin chom khat jouvin, Yeshuan amapa chu Houin'ah amun ajah'a, “Tua hi akisudam nahitai, chonse kit tahih in, ajole akhohjo cheh nachunga chuget inte,” ati.
15 The man went away, and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
Chuin mipa chun Judah vaipo ho jah'a ama sudam chu Yeshua ahi ti agaseitan ahi.
16 For this reason, the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill Him, because He was doing these things on the Sabbath.
Hijeh chun Judah vaipo hon Yeshua amatah in Cholngah nikho apalkeh jeh in, achunga bolsetna apantauvin ahi.
17 Jesus answered them, “My Father is still working, so I am working, too.”
Ahivangin Yeshuan adonbut'in, “Kapan aphat jousen na atongin, keiman jong katong jinge,” ati.
18 Because of this, the Jews tried all the harder to kill Him. Not only was He breaking the Sabbath, but He was even calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.
Hiche jeh tah chun, Judah vaipo hon Yeshua thana ding aha hol cheh tauvin ahi, ajehchu aman Cholngah nikho apalkeh keo hilouvin, Pathen chu apa ahisah a chuleh Pathen toh kibanga aumjeh chu ahi.
19 Then Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless He sees the Father do it, for whatever He does, the Son does likewise.
Hijeh chun Yeshuan ahilchen in, ajah'uva, “Thutah chu nangho kaseipeh nahiuve, Chapa chun ama cham cham in ima abolpoi; Pan abol amu ho chacha bou chu aman abolji ahi, hijeh chun Pan abol jouse chu Chapan jong abol ahi.
20 The Father loves the Son, and shows Him everything that He Himself does. He will show Him even greater works than these, that you may marvel.
Ajehchu Pan chapa chu angailun, anatoh athilbol jouse avetsah in ahi. Chule tahbeh in Pa chun hiche mipa kisuhdam na sanga chungnungjo avetsah ding ahi, hichu nanghon kidang nasah cheh dingu ahi.
21 As the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whoever He wishes.
Ajeh chu Pan mithi ho akaithouva ahinsah ji bang chun Chapan jong ahinsah nom ho chu hinna apeh ji ahi.
22 The Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,
Chuleh Pan koima thu atanpoi, aman thutanna leh thuneina jouse abon'a Chapa apeh ahitai.
23 that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who doesn’t honor the Son doesn’t honor the Father who sent Him.
Hiti ahijeh chun, mijousen Pa ajabol banga Chapa chu ajabol cheh ding ahi; ajeh chu Chapa jabol lou chun ahinsol'a Pachu ajabollou ahi.
24 “Most assuredly, I tell you, the person who hears my words and believes in Him who sent me has everlasting life, and won’t come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. (aiōnios g166)
Keiman atahbeh chu nangho kaseipeh nahiuve, kathusei ngaiya chuleh eisolpa Pathen tahsan'a chun tonsot hinna anei ahitai; amaho chu a itih'a chonset themmo channa geita louva thina akon'a hinna galkai ahitauve. (aiōnios g166)
25 Most assuredly, I tell you, the time is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of God’s Son, and those who hear will live.
Chuleh keiman nangho tahbeh'a kaseipeh nahiuve, phat chu ahung lhunge, tuhi ahi, mithi hon ka aw (Pathen Chapa aw) ajah ding'u, chuleh aja chengse hing ding ahiuve.
26 For just as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself,
Ajeh chu Pa chun ama'a hinna anei ahin, chuleh aman hiche hinna pe thanei na chu Chapa apeh ahitai.
27 and has given Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man.
Chuleh aman mi jouse chung'a thutanna leh thuneina chu chapa apeh ahitai, ajeh chu ama Mihem Chapa ahi.
28 Don’t marvel at this, for the time is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice
Hijeh chun nangho lung dong hih'un, phat chu ahung lhunge, lhankhuh'a mithi ho jousen Pathen chapa Aw ajah ding'u;
29 and come out — those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.
Chuleh amaho thoukit ding, chuleh thilpha bol ho chu tonsot hinna a thoukit ding, chule thilpha lou bolho chu thupi tanna'a themmo chang'a thoukit ding ahiuve.
30 I can do nothing by myself. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous, because I don’t seek my own will, but the will of the Father who sent me.
Chuleh keiman kacham in ima kabol theipoi, Pathen in eisei peh banga thutanna kanei ahijeh'in, kathutan chu dihtah ahi, ajeh chu keima lunggot lam hilouva eisolpa ama lunggot lam'a kabol ahi.
31 “If I testify about myself, my testimony isn’t valid.
Chule kachungthu chu keima man kahet tohsah leh kathu hettohsah chu adih'a pomthei hilou ding ahi.
32 There is another who testifies on my behalf, and I know that his testimony about me is valid.
Ahivangin keima chungthu chu midang khat'in jong ahettohsah'a ahileh tahbeh'a kaseipeh nahiuve, amapan ahettohsah keima chungthu jouse chu adih ahi.
33 You have sent to John, and he has testified to the truth.
Chuleh nanghon John Baptist henga thu kholtoh dingin mi nasol'un, chuleh aman kachung chang thu dihtah chu ahettoh sahtai.
34 Not that I accept human testimony, but I tell you this so that you may be saved.
Keiman mihem a kon hettohsah kangaipoi, ahivangin nangho huhhing'a naum na ding'uva hiche hi kasei ahi.
35 John was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light.
John chu meivah koujing leh vahjing tobang ahin, chuleh ama thusei chu nanghon chomkhat dinga bou nalunglut piu ahi.
36 I have a greater testimony than John’s. The works that the Father has given me to finish — the very works that I do — testify about me, that the Father has sent me.
Ahivangin, keiman John sanga chung nungjo hettohsah kaneiye-hiche kathuhil leh melchihna kidang kabol hi ahi. Chuleh Pan eisol lona photchenna dinga, hiche hohi kabol dinga eipeh ahi.
37 The Father Himself, who sent me, has testified about me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.
Chuleh eihin sol'a Pa amatah chun kachungthu ahettohsah ahitai, nanghon a imatih in ama aw najakha pouve, chuleh kimaito pin jong namukha pouve.
38 You don’t have His words dwelling in you, because you don’t believe the One who He sent.
Chuleh nalung sung'uva ama thusei achengpoi; ajehchu aman nangho dinga ahinsol keima hi natahsan pouve.
39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life, and these testify about me. (aiōnios g166)
Nanghon Pathen Lekhabu thu nahol'un, ajeh chu hiche ho chun tonsot hinna napeh dan'un nagel uve, ahivangin Pathen Lekhabu'a thuchun, keima thudol ahettohsah ahibouve. (aiōnios g166)
40 Yet you refuse to come to me to have life.
Ahivangin nanghon hiche hinna chu chantheina dingin keima henga nahung nompouve.
41 “I don’t accept glory from men,
Chule nangho phatsah peh chu keima dingin a ngaikhoh poi.
42 but I know you. I know that you don’t have God’s sincere love in you.
Ijeh inem itileh, Pathen ngailutna chu nasung'uvah achengpoi ti kahei.
43 I have come in my Father’s name, and you don’t accept me, but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.
Ajeh chu keima kapa min'a naheng'uva kahung ahin, nanghon neisang pouve. Ahinlah midangho chu amaho min'a naheng'uva ahungleh kipahtah in nasang'uve.
44 How can you believe when you accept glory from one another, and don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God?
Chule nanghon natahsan theilou chu datmo aumpoi, ajeh chu nanghon khat leh khat kijabolto natha noppiuvin, Pathen khatseh ama ahung kon chu, jabol ding nakhoh sah pouve.
45 “Don’t think that I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, who you have set your hope on.
Hijeng jongleh Pa ang'a themmon achansah ding'u chu keima kahipoi; nanghon nakinep piu Mose chun themmo na chan sah dingu ahi.
46 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.
Chuleh nanghon Mose chu natahsan tahtah'u ahileh keima neitahsan dingu ahi, ajeh chu aman keima thudol asut ahibouve.
47 If you don’t believe what he wrote, how will you believe what I say?”
Ahivangin nanghon Mose chu natahsan lou jeh'un kathu sei hohi nanghon iti natahsan dingu ham?” ati.
