Nehemiah 8
1 And all the people assembled themselues together, in the streete that was before the watergate, and they spake vnto Ezra the Scribe, that hee would bring the booke of ye Law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded to Israel.
Da nun herzukam der siebente Mond, und die Kinder Israel in ihren Städten waren, versammelte sich das ganze Volk wie ein Mann auf die breite Gasse vor dem Wassertor und sprachen zu Esra, dem Schriftgelehrten, daß er das Gesetzbuch Mose holete, das der HERR Israel geboten hatte.
2 And Ezra the Priest brought the Lawe before the Congregation both of men and women, and of all that coulde heare and vnderstand it, in the first day of the seuenth moneth,
Und Esra, der Priester, brachte das Gesetz vor die Gemeine, beide Männer und Weiber, und alle, die es vernehmen konnten, am ersten Tage des siebenten Monden,
3 And he read therein in the streete that was before the watergate (from the morning vntill the midday) before men and women, and them that vnderstoode it, and the eares of all the people hearkened vnto the booke of the Lawe.
und las drinnen auf der breiten Gasse, die vor dem Wassertor ist, von licht Morgen an bis auf den Mittag, vor Mann und Weib und wer es vernehmen konnte. Und des ganzen Volks Ohren waren zu dem Gesetzbuch gekehrt.
4 And Ezra the Scribe stoode vpon a pulpit of wood which he had made for the preaching, and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Ananiah, and Vriiah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah on his right hande, and on his left hand Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchiah, and Hashum, and Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam.
Und Esra, der Schriftgelehrte, stund auf einem hölzernen hohen Stuhl, den sie gemacht hatten zu predigen; und stund neben ihm Mathithja, Sema, Anaja, Uria, Hilkia und Maeseja zu seiner Rechten; aber zu seiner Linken Pedaja, Misael, Malchia, Hasum, Hasbadana, Sacharja und Mesullam.
5 And Ezra opened the booke before all the people: for hee was aboue all the people: and when he opened it, all the people stoode vp.
Und Esra tat das Buch auf vor dem ganzen Volk, denn er ragte über alles Volk; und da er's auftat, stund alles Volk.
6 And Ezra praysed the Lord the great God, and all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting vp their handes: and they bowed themselues, and worshipped the Lord with their faces toward the grounde.
Und Esra lobete den HERRN, den großen Gott. Und alles Volk antwortete: Amen, Amen! mit ihren Händen empor; und neigeten sich und beteten den HERRN an mit dem Antlitz zur Erde.
7 Also Ieshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Iamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Iozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Leuites caused the people to vnderstand the lawe, and the people stood in their place.
Und Jesua, Bani, Serebja, Jamin, Akub, Sabthai, Hodia, Maeseja, Klita, Asarja, Josabad, Hanan, Plaja und die Leviten machten das Volk, daß es aufs Gesetz merkete; und das Volk stund auf seiner Stätte.
8 And they read in the booke of the Lawe of God distinctly, and gaue the sense, and caused them to vnderstand the reading.
Und sie lasen im Gesetzbuch Gottes klar und verständlich, daß man's verstund, da man's las.
9 Then Nehemiah (which is Tirshatha) and Ezra the Priest and scribe, and the Leuites that instructed the people, saide vnto all the people, This day is holie vnto ye Lord your God: mourne not, neither weepe: for all the people wept, whe they heard the words of the Lawe.
Und Nehemia, der da ist Hathirsatha, und Esra, der Priester, der Schriftgelehrte, und die Leviten, die das Volk aufmerken machten, sprachen zu allem Volk: Dieser Tag ist heilig dem HERRN, eurem Gott; darum seid nicht traurig und weinet nicht. Denn alles Volk weinete, da sie die Worte des Gesetzes höreten.
10 He saide also vnto the, Go, and eate of the fat, and drinke the sweete, and send part vnto them, for whome none is prepared: for this day is holie vnto our Lord: be ye not sorie therefore: for the ioy of the Lord is your strength.
Darum sprach er zu ihnen: Gehet hin und esset das Fette und trinket das Süße; und sendet denen auch Teil, die nichts für sich bereitet haben; denn dieser Tag ist heilig unserm HERRN; darum bekümmert euch nicht, denn die Freude am HERRN ist eure Stärke.
11 And the Leuites made silence throughout all the people, saying, Holde your peace: for the day is holy, be not sad therefore.
Und die Leviten stilleten alles Volk und sprachen: Seid stille, denn der Tag ist heilig; bekümmert euch nicht!
12 Then all the people went to eate and to drinke, and to send away part, and to make great ioy, because they had vnderstand the wordes that they had taught them.
Und alles Volk ging hin, daß es äße, tränke und Teil sendete und eine große Freude machte; denn sie hatten die Worte verstanden, die man ihnen hatte kundgetan.
13 And on the second day the chiefe fathers of all the people, the Priests and the Leuites were gathered vnto Ezra the scribe, that he also might instruct them in the wordes of the Lawe.
Und des andern Tages versammelten sich die obersten Väter unter dem ganzen Volk und die Priester und Leviten zu Esra, dem Schriftgelehrten, daß er sie die Worte des Gesetzes unterrichtete.
14 And they found written in the Law, (that the Lord had commanded by Moses) that the children of Israel should dwel in boothes in the feast of the seuenth moneth,
Und sie fanden geschrieben im Gesetz, daß der HERR durch Mose geboten hatte, daß die Kinder Israel in Laubhütten wohnen sollten auf das Fest im siebenten Monden.
15 And that they shoulde cause it to bee declared and proclaimed in all their cities, and in Ierusalem, saying, Go forth vnto the mount, and bring oliue branches, and pine branches, and branches of myrtus, and palme branches, and branches of thicke trees, to make boothes, as it is written.
Und sie ließen es laut werden und ausrufen in allen ihren Städten und zu Jerusalem und sagen: Gehet hinaus auf die Berge und holet Ölzweige, Balsamzweige, Myrtenzweige, Palmenzweige und Zweige von dichten Bäumen, daß man Laubhütten mache, wie es geschrieben stehet.
16 So the people went foorth and brought them, and made them boothes, euerie one vpon the roofe of his house, and in their courtes, and in the courtes of the house of God, and in the streete by the watergate, and in the streete of the gate of Ephraim.
Und das Volk ging hinaus und holeten und machten ihnen Laubhütten, ein jeglicher auf seinem Dach und in ihren Höfen und in den Höfen am Hause Gottes und auf der breiten Gasse am Wassertor und auf der breiten Gasse am Tor Ephraim.
17 And all the Congregation of them that were come againe out of the captiuitie made boothes, and sate vnder the boothes: for since the time of Ieshua the sonne of Nun vnto this day, had not the children of Israel done so, and there was very great ioy.
Und die ganze Gemeine derer, die aus dem Gefängnis waren wiederkommen, machten Laubhütten und wohneten drinnen. Denn die Kinder Israel hatten seit der Zeit Josuas, des Sohns Nuns, bis auf diesen Tag nicht also getan; und war eine sehr große Freude.
18 And he read in the booke of the Lawe of God euery day, from the first day vnto the last day. and they kept the feast seuen dayes, and on the eight day a solemne assemblie, according vnto the maner.
Und ward im Gesetzbuch Gottes gelesen alle Tage, vom ersten Tage an bis auf den letzten, und hielten das Fest sieben Tage, und am achten Tage die Versammlung, wie sich's gebührt.
