Judges 14
1 Nowe Samson went downe to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistims,
És lement Sámson Timnátba, és meglátott egy nőt Timnátban a Filiszteusok lányai közül.
2 And he came vp and told his father and his mother and saide, I haue seene a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistims: now therfore giue me her to wife.
És mikor hazament, elbeszélte ezt atyjának és anyjának, és monda: Egy nőt láttam Timnátban a Filiszteusok leányai között, most azért vegyétek őt nékem feleségül.
3 Then his father and his mother sayde vnto him, Is there neuer a wife among the daughters of thy brethren, and among all my people, that thou must go to take a wife of the vncircumcised Philistims? And Samson sayd vnto his father, Giue mee her, for she pleaseth me well.
És monda néki az ő atyja és anyja: Hát nincsen a te atyádfiainak és az én egész népemnek leányai között nő, hogy te elmégy, hogy feleséget végy a körülmetéletlen Filiszteusok közül? És monda Sámson az ő atyjának: Őt vegyed nékem, mert csak ő kedves az én szemeim előtt.
4 But his father and his mother knewe not that it came of the Lord, that he should seeke an occasion against the Philistims: for at that time the Philistims reigned ouer Israel.
Az ő atyja és anyja pedig nem tudják vala, hogy ez az Úrtól van, hogy ő alkalmatosságot keres a Filiszteusok ellen, mert abban az időben a Filiszteusok uralkodtak Izráel felett.
5 Then went Samson and his father and his mother downe to Timnath, and came to ye vineyardes at Timnath: and beholde, a young Lyon roared vpon him.
És lement Sámson az ő atyjával és anyjával Timnátba, és mikor Timnátnak szőlőhegyéhez értek, íme egy oroszlánkölyök jött ordítva elébe.
6 And the Spirit of the Lord came vpon him, and he tare him, as one should haue rent a kid, and had nothing in his hand, neither told he his father nor his mother what he had done.
És felindítá őt az Úrnak lelke, és úgy kettészakasztá azt, mint a hogyan kettészakasztatik a gödölye; pedig semmi sem volt kezében. De atyjának és anyjának nem mondta el, a mit cselekedett.
7 And he went down, and talked with the woman which was beautifull in the eyes of Samson.
És mikor leérkezett, beszélt a nővel, a ki kedves volt Sámson szemei előtt.
8 And within a fewe dayes, when he returned to receiue her, he went aside to see the karkeis of the Lion: and behold, there was a swarme of bees, and hony in the body of the Lyon.
Mikor pedig egynéhány nappal azután visszatért, hogy őt hazavigye, lekerült, hogy megnézze az oroszlánnak holttestét: hát íme egy raj méh volt az oroszlánnak tetemében, és méz.
9 And he tooke therof in his handes, and went eating, and came to his father and to his mother, and gaue vnto them, and they did eate: but hee told not them, that he had taken the hony out of the body of the lyon.
És kiszedte azt markaiba, és a mint ment-mendegélt, eszegetett belőle, és mikor hazaért atyjához és anyjához, adott abból nékik is, és azok is ettek; de nem mondta meg nékik, hogy az oroszlán holtteteméből vette ki a mézet.
10 So his father went down vnto the woman, and Samson made there a feast: for so vsed the yong men to doe.
És azután lement az ő atyja ahhoz a nőhöz, és Sámson lakodalmat tartott ott, mert úgy szoktak cselekedni az ifjak.
11 And when they sawe him, they brought thirtie companions to be with him.
Mikor pedig meglátták őt a Filiszteusok, harmincz társat adtak mellé, hogy legyenek ő vele.
12 Then Samson sayd vnto them, I will nowe put forth a riddle vnto you: and if you can declare it me within seuen dayes of the feast, and finde it out, I will giue you thirty sheetes, and thirtie change of garments.
És monda nékik Sámson: Hadd vessek előtökbe egy találós mesét, ha azt megfejtitek nékem a lakodalom hét napja alatt és kitaláljátok; adok néktek harmincz inget és harmincz öltöző ruhát;
13 But if you cannot declare it mee, then shall yee giue mee thirty sheetes and thirtie change of garments. And they answered him, Put forth thy riddle, that we may heare it.
De ha nem tudjátok megfejteni, ti adtok nékem harmincz inget és harmincz öltöző ruhát. Azok pedig mondának néki: Add elő találós mesédet, hadd halljuk.
14 And he sayd vnto them, Out of the eater came meate, and out of the strong came sweetenesse: and they could not in three dayes expound the riddle.
Ő pedig monda nékik: Az evőből étek jött ki S az erősből édes jött ki. De nem tudták a találós mesét megfejteni három egész napon át.
15 And when the seuenth day was come, they said vnto Samsons wife, Entise thine husband, that he may declare vs the riddle, lest wee burne thee and thy fathers house with fire. Haue ye called vs, to possesse vs? is it not so?
Lőn annakokáért heted napon, mondának Sámson feleségének: Vedd reá férjedet, hogy fejtse meg nékünk a találós mesét, hogy valamiképen meg ne égessünk téged és a te atyádnak házát tűzzel; vagy azért hívtatok ide minket, hogy koldussá tegyetek bennünket, vagy nem?
16 And Samsons wife wept before him, and said, Surely thou hatest mee and louest mee not: for thou hast put forth a riddle vnto the children of my people, and hast not told it mee. And hee sayd vnto her, Beholde, I haue not told it my father, nor my mother, and shall I tell it thee?
És sírt a Sámson felesége ő előtte, és monda: Bizony te gyűlölsz engem, és nem szeretsz. Egy találós mesét vetettél az én népem fiai elé és nékem sem fejtetted meg. Ő pedig monda néki: Íme még atyámnak és anyámnak sem mondtam meg, hát néked mondanám meg?
17 Then Samsons wife wept before him seuen dayes, while their feast lasted: and when the seuenth day came he tolde her, because she was importunate vpon him: so she told the riddle to the children of her people.
Az pedig hét napon át sírdogált előtte, a meddig a lakodalom tartott. Végre a hetedik napon megmondá néki, mert folyvást zaklatta őt. Ő pedig aztán megfejté a találós mesét népe fiainak.
18 And the men of ye citie sayde vnto him the seuenth day before the Sunne went downe, What is sweeter then honie? and what is stronger then a lyon? Then sayd hee vnto them, If yee had not plowed with my heiffer, yee had not found out my riddle.
És mondának néki a város férfiai a hetedik napon, mielőtt még a nap lement volna: Mi édesebb, mint a méz, És mi erősebb, mint az oroszlán? Ki monda nékik: Ha nem az én üszőmön szántottatok volna, Mesém soha ki nem találtátok volna.
19 And the Spirite of the Lord came vpon him, and he went downe to Ashkelon, and slew thirtie men of them and spoyled them, and gaue chaunge of garments vnto them, which expounded the riddle: and his wrath was kindled, and he went vp to his fathers house.
Ekkor felindítá őt az Úrnak lelke, és elment Askelonba, és megölt közülök harmincz férfiút, és elvette ruhájukat és azoknak adta ez öltöző ruhákat, a kik a találós mesét megoldották. És felgerjedett haragjában elment az ő atyjának házához.
20 Then Samsons wife was giuen to his companion, whom he had vsed as his friend.
A Sámson felesége pedig férjhez ment az ő egyik társához, a kit társaságába vett vala.
