Isaiah 48

1 Hear yee this, O house of Iaakob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come out of the waters of Iudah: which sweare by the Name of the Lord, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousnesse.

Höret das, ihr vom Hause Jakob, die ihr heißet mit Namen Israel und aus dem Wasser Judas geflossen sind, die ihr schwöret bei dem Namen des HERRN und gedenket des Gottes in Israel, aber nicht in der Wahrheit noch Gerechtigkeit.

2 For they are called of the holy citie, and staie themselues vpon the God of Israel, whose Name is the Lord of hostes.

Denn sie nennen sich aus der heiligen Stadt und trotzen auf den Gott Israels, der da heißt der HERR Zebaoth:

3 I haue declared ye former things of old, and they went out of my mouth, and I shewed them: I did them suddenly, and they came to passe.

Ich hab's zuvor verkündiget dies Zukünftige; aus meinem Munde ist's kommen, und ich habe es lassen sagen; ich tue es auch plötzlich, daß es kommt.

4 Because I knewe, that thou art obstinate, and thy necke is an yron sinew, and thy brow brasse,

Denn ich weiß, daß du hart bist; und dein Nacken ist eine eiserne Ader, und deine Stirn ist ehern.

5 Therefore I haue declared it to thee of old: before it came to passe, I shewed it thee, lest thou shouldest say, Mine idole hath done them, and my carued image, and my molten image hath commanded them.

Ich habe dir's verkündiget zuvor und habe dir's lassen sagen, ehe denn es kommen ist, auf daß du nicht sagen mögest: Mein Götze tut's, und mein Bild und Götze hat's befohlen.

6 Thou hast heard, behold all this, and wil not yee declare it? I haue shewed thee newe things, euen now, and hid things, which thou knewest not.

Solches alles hörest du und siehest es und hast's doch nicht verkündiget. Denn ich habe dir zuvor Neues sagen lassen und Verborgenes, das du nicht wußtest.

7 They are created now, and not of olde, and euen before this thou heardest them not, lest thou shouldest say, Beholde, I knewe them.

Nun aber ist's geschaffen, und nicht dazumal, und hast nicht einen Tag zuvor davon gehöret, auf daß du nicht sagen mögest: Siehe, das wußte ich wohl.

8 Yet thou heardest them not, neither diddest know them, neither yet was thine eare opened of olde: for I knewe that thou wouldest grieuously transgresse: therefore haue I called thee a transgressour from the wombe.

Denn du höretest es nicht und wußtest es auch nicht, und dein Ohr war dazumal nicht geöffnet; ich aber wußte wohl, daß du verachten würdest und von Mutterleibe an ein Übertreter genannt bist.

9 For my Names sake will I defer my wrath, and for my praise will I refraine it from thee, that I cut thee not off.

Darum bin ich um meines Namens willen geduldig und um meines Ruhms willen will ich mich dir zugut enthalten, daß du nicht ausgerottet werdest.

10 Behold, I haue fined thee, but not as siluer: I haue chosen thee in the fornace of affliction.

Siehe, ich will dich läutern, aber nicht wie Silber; sondern ich will dich auserwählt machen im Ofen des Elendes.

11 For mine owne sake, for mine owne sake wil I doe it: for how should my Name be polluted? surely I wil not giue my glory vnto another.

Um meinetwillen, ja um meinetwillen will ich's tun, daß ich nicht gelästert werde; denn ich will meine Ehre keinem andern lassen.

12 Heare me, O Iaakob and Israel, my called, I am, I am the first, and I am the last.

Höre mir zu, Jakob, und du, Israel, mein Berufener: Ich bin's, ich bin der Erste, dazu auch der Letzte.

13 Surely mine hand hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heaues: when I cal them, they stand vp together.

Meine Hand hat den Erdboden gegründet und meine rechte Hand hat den Himmel umspannet: was ich rufe, das stehet alles da.

14 All you, assemble your selues, and heare: which among them hath declared these thinges? The Lord hath loued him: he wil doe his will in Babel, and his arme shalbe against the Chaldeans.

Sammelt euch alle und höret: Wer ist unter diesen, der solches verkündigen kann? Der HERR liebet ihn; darum wird er seinen Willen an Babel und seinen Arm an den Chaldäern beweisen.

15 I, euen I haue spoken it, and I haue called him: I haue brought him, and his way shall prosper.

Ich, ja ich habe es gesagt, ich habe ihm gerufen; ich will ihn auch kommen lassen, und sein Weg soll ihm gelingen.

16 Come neere vnto me: heare ye this: I haue not spoken it in secret from the beginning: from the time that the thing was, I was there, and now the Lord God and his Spirit hath sent me.

Tretet her zu mir und höret dies; ich hab's nicht im Verborgenen zuvor geredet. Von der Zeit an, da es geredet wird, bin ich da; und nun sendet mich der HERR HERR und sein Geist.

17 Thus saith the Lord thy redeemer, the Holy one of Israel, I am the Lord thy God, which teach thee to profite, and lead thee by the way, that thou shouldest goe.

So spricht der HERR, dein Erlöser, der Heilige in Israel: Ich bin der HERR, dein Gott, der dich lehret, was nützlich ist, und leite dich auf dem Wege, den du gehest.

18 Oh that thou haddest hearkened to my commandements! then had thy prosperitie bene as the floude, and thy righteousnesse as the waues of the sea.

O daß du auf meine Gebote merktest! So würde dein Friede sein wie ein Wasserstrom und deine Gerechtigkeit wie Meereswellen,

19 Thy seede also had beene as the sande, and the fruite of thy body like the grauell thereof: his name should not haue bene cut off nor destroied before me.

und dein Same würde sein wie Sand und das Gewächs deines Leibes wie desselbigen Kies, des Name nicht würde ausgerottet noch vertilget vor mir.

20 Goe yee out of Babel: flee yee from the Chaldeans, with a voice of ioy: tel and declare this: shewe it foorth to the ende of the earth: say yee, The Lord hath redeemed his seruant Iaakob.

Gehet aus von Babel, fliehet von den Chaldäern mit fröhlichem Schall; verkündiget und lasset solches hören; bringet es aus bis an der Welt Ende! Sprechet: Der HERR hat seinen Knecht Jakob erlöset.

21 And they were not thirstie: hee led them through the wildernesse: hee caused the waters to flowe out of the rocke for them: for he claue the rocke, and the water gushed out.

Sie hatten keinen Durst, da er sie leitete in der Wüste; er ließ ihnen Wasser aus Felsen fließen; er riß den Fels, daß Wasser herausrann.

22 There is no peace, sayeth the Lord, vnto the wicked.

Aber die Gottlosen, spricht der HERR, haben keinen Frieden.
