Genesis 44
1 Afterward he commanded his steward, saying, Fill the mens sackes with foode, as much as they can carry, and put euery mans money in his sackes mouth.
Und er gebot dem, der über sein Haus war, und sprach: Fülle die Mantelsäcke der Männer mit Speise, so viel sie tragen können, und eines jeden Mannes Silber lege in die Öffnung seines Mantelsackes.
2 And put my cup, I meane the siluer cup, in the sackes mouth of the yongest, and his corne money. And he did according to the commandement that Ioseph gaue him.
Und meinen Kelch, den silbernen Kelch, lege in die Öffnung des Mantelsackes des Kleinsten und das Geld für sein Getreide; und er tat nach Josephs Wort, das er geredet.
3 And in the morning the men were sent away, they, and their asses.
Am Morgen ward es Licht, und die Männer wurden entsendet, sie und ihre Esel.
4 And when they went out of the citie not farre off, Ioseph sayd to his stewarde, Vp, follow after the men: and when thou doest ouertake them, say vnto them, Wherefore haue ye rewarded euill for good?
Sie gingen aus von der Stadt und waren noch nicht ferne, da sprach Joseph zu dem, der über sein Haus war: Mache dich auf, setze den Männern nach, und wenn du sie erreichst, da sprich zu ihnen: Warum habt ihr Gutes mit Bösem vergolten?
5 Is that not the cuppe, wherein my Lord drinketh? and in the which he doeth deuine and prophecie? ye haue done euill in so doing.
Ist es nicht der, aus dem mein Herr trinkt, und aus dem er voraussagt? Ihr habt übel getan an dem, was ihr tatet.
6 And when he ouertooke them, he sayde those wordes vnto them.
Und er erreichte sie und redete zu ihnen diese Worte.
7 And they answered him, Wherefore sayeth my lorde such wordes? God forbid that thy seruants should do such a thing.
Und sie sprachen zu ihm: Warum redet mein Herr solche Worte? Fern sei von deinen Knechten, nach diesem Worte zu tun.
8 Behold, the money which we found in our sackes mouthes, wee brought againe to thee out of the land of Canaan: how then should we steale out of thy lordes house siluer or golde?
Siehe, das Silber, das wir in der Öffnung unsrer Mantelsäcke gefunden, haben wir dir aus dem Lande Kanaan zurückgebracht. Und wie sollten wir aus dem Hause deines Herrn Silber oder Gold stehlen?
9 With whomesoeuer of thy seruants it bee found, let him dye, and we also will be my lordes bondmen.
Bei welchem von deinen Knechten es gefunden wird, der soll sterben; und auch wir wollen meinem Herrn zu Knechten sein.
10 And he said, Now then let it be according vnto your wordes: he with whome it is found, shall be my seruant, and ye shalbe blamelesse.
Und er sprach: Es sei nun auch so nach euren Worten! Der, bei dem er gefunden wird, der soll mein Knecht sein, ihr aber sollt ungestraft sein.
11 Then at once euery man tooke downe his sacke to the grounde, and euery one opened his sacke.
Und sie eilten und ließen jeder Mann seinen Mantelsack auf die Erde herab und öffneten jeder Mann seinen Mantelsack.
12 And he searched, and began at the eldest and left at the yongest: and the cuppe was found in Beniamins sacke.
Und er forschte nach, fing bei dem Größten an und hörte beim Kleinsten auf; und der Kelch fand sich in Benjamins Mantelsack.
13 Then they rent their clothes, and laded euery man his asse, and went againe into the citie.
Und sie zerrissen ihre Gewänder, und jeder Mann belud seinen Esel und sie kehrten nach der Stadt zurück.
14 So Iudah and his brethren came to Iosephs house (for he was yet there) and they fel before him on the ground.
Und Judah und seine Brüder kamen in Josephs Haus und er war noch da, und sie fielen vor ihm zur Erde.
15 Then Ioseph sayd vnto them, What acte is this, which ye haue done? know ye not that such a man as I, can deuine and prophecie?
Und Joseph sprach zu ihnen: Was ist das für eine Tat, die ihr getan? wußtet ihr nicht, daß ein Mann, wie ich, vorhersagen kann?
16 Then sayd Iudah, What shall we say vnto my lord? what shall we speake? and howe can we iustifie our selues? God hath found out the wickednesse of thy seruants: beholde, we are seruants to my Lord, both wee, and he, with whome the cuppe is founde.
Und Judah sprach: Was sollen wir sagen zu meinem Herrn, was sollen wir reden und wie uns rechtfertigen? Gott hat gefunden die Missetat deiner Knechte. Siehe, wir sind Knechte meinem Herrn, sowohl wir als er, in dessen Hand der Kelch gefunden worden.
17 But he answered, God forbid, that I should doe so, but the man, with whome the cuppe is founde, he shalbe my seruant, and go ye in peace vnto your father.
Und er sprach: Ferne sei von mir, solches zu tun. Der Mann, in dessen Hand der Kelch gefunden worden, der soll mein Knecht sein. Und ihr, gehet ihr im Frieden hinauf zu eurem Vater!
18 Then Iudah drewe neere vnto him, and sayde, O my Lord, let thy seruant nowe speake a worde in my lordes eares, and let not thy wrath be kindled against thy seruant: for thou art euen as Pharaoh.
Und Judah trat her zu ihm und sprach: Bitte, mein Herr, laß doch deinen Knecht ein Wort reden in den Ohren meines Herrn, und es entbrenne nicht dein Zorn gegen deinen Knecht; denn du bist wie Pharao.
19 My Lord asked his seruants, saying, Haue ye a father, or a brother?
Mein Herr fragte seine Knechte und sprach: Habt ihr einen Vater oder einen Bruder?
20 And we answered my Lord, We haue a father that is olde, and a young childe, which he begate in his age: and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loueth him.
Und wir sagten zu meinem Herrn: Wir haben einen alten Vater und ein Kind seines Alters, den Kleinsten, und sein Bruder ist tot, und er ist allein übrig geblieben von seiner Mutter, und sein Vater liebt ihn.
21 Now thou saidest vnto thy seruants, Bring him vnto me, that I may set mine eye vpon him.
Und du sprachst zu deinen Knechten: Bringet ihn herab zu mir, daß ich mein Auge auf ihn richte.
22 And we answered my lord, The childe can not depart from his father: for if he leaue his father, his father would die.
Und wir sprachen zu meinem Herrn: Der Junge kann seinen Vater nicht verlassen; und verläßt er seinen Vater, so stirbt dieser.
23 Then saydest thou vnto thy seruants, Except your yonger brother come downe with you, looke in my face no more.
Und du sprachst zu deinen Knechten: Wenn euer kleiner Bruder nicht mit euch herabkommt, so sollt ihr nicht wieder mein Angesicht sehen.
24 So when we came vnto thy seruant our father, and shewed him what my lord had sayd,
Und es geschah, daß wir hinaufgingen zu deinem Knecht, meinem Vater, und sagten ihm an die Worte meines Herrn.
25 And our father sayde vnto vs, Goe againe, bye vs a litle foode,
Und unser Vater sprach: Kehret zurück, kaufet uns ein wenig zu essen.
26 Then we answered, We can not go downe: but if our yongest brother go with vs, then will we go downe: for we may not see the mans face, except our yongest brother be with vs.
Wir aber sagten: Wir können nicht hinabgehen; wenn unser kleiner Bruder mit uns ist, dann wollen wir hinabgehen; denn wir können das Angesicht des Mannes nicht sehen, wenn unser kleiner Bruder nicht mit uns ist.
27 Then thy seruant my father sayde vnto vs, Ye knowe that my wife bare me two sonnes,
Und es sprach dein Knecht, mein Vater, zu uns: Ihr wisset, daß mein Weib, mir zwei geboren hat.
28 And the one went out from me, and I said, Of a suretie he is torne in pieces, and I sawe him not since.
Und der eine ist von mir hinausgegangen, und ich sprach: Gewiß, er ist zerfleischt, und ich hab ihn nicht gesehen bisher.
29 Nowe yee take this also away from me: if death take him, then yee shall bring my graye head in sorowe to the graue. (Sheol h7585)
Und nehmet ihr auch diesen von meinem Angesicht, und begegnet ihm ein Unfall, dann bringet ihr mein Greisenhaar durch Übel in die Gruft hinab. (Sheol h7585)
30 Nowe therefore, when I come to thy seruant my father, and the childe be not with vs (seeing that his life dependeth on the childes life)
Und nun, wenn ich zu deinem Knecht, meinem Vater, komme, und der Junge ist nicht mit uns - und seine Seele ist mit dessen Seele verbunden -
31 Then when hee shall see that the childe is not come, he will die: so shall thy seruants bring the graye head of thy seruant our father with sorowe to the graue. (Sheol h7585)
So wird es geschehen, wenn er sieht, daß der Junge nicht da ist, daß er stirbt. Und es werden deine Knechte das Greisenhaar deines Knechtes, unseres Vaters, mit Gram in die Gruft bringen. (Sheol h7585)
32 Doubtlesse thy seruant became suertie for the childe to my father, and said, If I bring him not vnto thee againe, then I will beare the blame vnto my father for euer.
Denn dein Knecht hat sich verbürgt für den Jungen bei meinem Vater und gesagt: Wenn ich ihn nicht zu dir hereinbringe, so will ich alle Tage gegen meinen Vater gesündigt haben.
33 Nowe therefore, I pray thee, let me thy seruant bide for the childe, as a seruant to my Lord, and let the childe go vp with his brethren.
Und nun laß deinen Knecht anstatt des Jungen als Knecht meinem Herrn bleiben, und den Jungen mit seinen Brüdern hinaufgehen.
34 For how can I go vp to my father, if the childe be not with me, vnlesse I woulde see the euil that shall come on my father?
Denn wie sollte ich zu meinem Vater hinaufgehen, ohne daß der Junge bei mir ist? Ich müßte nur das Böse sehen, das meinen Vater trifft.
