1 Kings 2
1 Then the dayes of Dauid drewe neere that he should die, and hee charged Salomon his sonne, saying,
Als nun die Zeit herbeikam, daß David sterben sollte, gebot er seinem Sohn Salomo und sprach:
2 I go the way of all the earth: be strong therefore, and shew thy selfe a man,
Ich gehe hin den Weg aller Welt; so sei getrost und sei ein Mann!
3 And take heede to the charge of the Lord thy God, to walke in his wayes, and keepe his statutes, and his commandements, and his iudgements, and his testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and in euery thing whereunto thou turnest thee,
Und warte auf die Hut des HERRN, deines Gottes, daß du wandelst in seinen Wegen und haltest seine Sitten, Gebote, Rechte, Zeugnisse, wie geschrieben steht im Gesetz Moses, auf daß du klug seiest in allem, was du tust, und wo du dich hinwendest,
4 That the Lord may confirme his worde which hee spake vnto me, saying, If thy sonnes take heede to their way, that they walke before me in trueth, with all their hearts, and with all their soules, thou shalt not (sayd he) want one of thy posteritie vpon the throne of Israel.
auf daß der HERR sein Wort erwecke, das er über mich geredet hat und gesagt: Werden deine Kinder ihre Wege behüten, daß sie vor mir treulich und von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele wandeln, so soll von dir nimmer gebrechen ein Mann auf dem Stuhl Israels.
5 Thou knowest also what Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captaines of the hostes of Israel, vnto Abner the sonne of Ner, and vnto Amasa the sonne of Iether: whome he slewe, and shed blood of battell in peace, and put the blood of warre vpon his girdle that was about his loynes, and in his shooes that were on his feete.
Auch weißt du wohl, was mir getan hat Joab, der Sohn Zerujas, was er tat den zweien Feldhauptmännern Israels, Abner, dem Sohn Ners, und Amasa, dem Sohn Jethers, die er erwürget hat, und vergoß Kriegsblut im Frieden und tat Kriegsblut an seinen Gürtel, der um seine Lenden war, und an seine Schuhe, die an seinen Füßen waren.
6 Doe therefore according to thy wisdome, and let thou not his hoare head go downe to the graue in peace. (Sheol h7585)
Tue nach deiner Weisheit, daß du seine grauen Haare nicht mit Frieden hinunter zur Hölle bringest. (Sheol h7585)
7 But shew kindnes vnto the sonnes of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be among them that eate at thy table: for so they came to me when I fled from Absalom thy brother.
Auch den Kindern Barsillais, des Gileaditers, sollst du Barmherzigkeit beweisen, daß sie auf deinem Tisch essen. Denn also taten sie sich zu mir, da ich vor Absalom, deinem Bruder, floh.
8 And beholde, with thee is Shimei the sonne of Gera, the sonne of Iemini, of Bahurim, which cursed mee with an horrible curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim: but hee came downe to meete me at Iorden, and I sware to him by the Lord, saying, I will not slay thee with the sword.
Und siehe, du hast bei dir Simei, den Sohn Geras, des Sohns Jeminis von Bahurim, der mir schändlich fluchte zur Zeit, da ich gen Mahanaim ging. Er aber kam herab mir entgegen am Jordan. Da schwur ich ihm bei dem HERRN und sprach: Ich will dich nicht töten mit dem Schwert.
9 But thou shalt not count him innocent: for thou art a wise man, and knowest what thou oughtest to doe vnto him: therefore thou shalt cause his hoare head to goe downe to the graue with blood. (Sheol h7585)
Du aber laß ihn nicht unschuldig sein; denn du bist ein weiser Mann und wirst wohl wissen, was du ihm tun sollst, daß du seine grauen Haare mit Blut hinunter in die Hölle bringest. (Sheol h7585)
10 So Dauid slept with his fathers, and was buried in the citie of Dauid.
Also entschlief David mit seinen Vätern und ward begraben in der Stadt Davids.
11 And the dayes which Dauid reigned vpon Israel, were fourtie yeeres: seuen yeeres reigned he in Hebron, and thirtie and three yeeres reigned he in Ierusalem.
Die Zeit aber, die David König gewesen ist über Israel, ist vierzig Jahre. Sieben Jahre war er König zu Hebron und dreiunddreißigJahre zu Jerusalem.
12 Then sate Salomon vpon the throne of Dauid his father, and his kingdome was stablished mightily.
Und Salomo saß auf dem Stuhl seines Vaters David, und sein Königreich ward sehr beständig.
13 And Adonijah the sonne of Haggith came to Bath-sheba the mother of Salomon: and she saide, Commest thou peaceably? And hee said, Yea.
Aber Adonia, der Sohn Hagiths, kam hinein zu Bathseba, der Mutter Salomos. Und sie sprach: Kommst du auch mit Frieden? Er sprach: Ja.
14 He said moreouer, I haue a sute vnto thee. And she sayd, Say on.
Und sprach: Ich habe mit dir zu reden. Sie sprach: Sage her!
15 Then he said, Thou knowest that the kingdome was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reigne: howbeit the kingdome is turned away, and is my brothers: for it came to him by the Lord.
Er sprach: Du weißest, daß das Königreich mein war, und ganz Israel hatte sich auf mich gerichtet, daß ich König sein sollte; aber nun ist das Königreich gewandt und meines Bruders worden; von dem HERRN ist's ihm worden.
16 Nowe therefore I aske thee one request, refuse me not. And she said vnto him, Say on.
Nun bitte ich eine Bitte von dir, du wollest mein Angesicht nicht beschämen. Sie sprach zu ihm: Sage her!
17 And he sayd, Speake, I pray thee, vnto Salomon ye King, (for he will not say thee nay) that he giue me Abishag the Shunammite to wife.
Er sprach: Rede mit dem Könige Salomo (denn er wird dein Angesicht nicht beschämen), daß er mir gebe Abisag von Sunem zum Weibe.
18 And Bath-sheba sayd, Well, I will speake for thee vnto the King.
Bathseba sprach: Wohl, ich will mit dem Könige deinethalben reden.
19 Bath-sheba therefore went vnto King Salomon, to speake vnto him for Adonijah: and the King rose to meete her, and bowed himselfe vnto her, and sate downe on his throne: and he caused a seate to be set for the Kings mother, and she sate at his right hand.
Und Bathseba kam hinein zum Könige Salomo, mit ihm zu reden Adonias halben. Und der König stund auf und ging ihr entgegen und betete sie an; und setzte sich auf seinen Stuhl. Und es ward des Königs Mutter ein Stuhl gesetzt, daß sie sich setzte zu seiner Rechten.
20 Then she sayd, I desire a small request of thee, say me not nay. Then the King sayde vnto her, Aske on, my mother: for I will not say thee nay.
Und sie sprach: Ich bitte eine kleine Bitte von dir, du wollest mein Angesicht nicht beschämen. Der König sprach zu ihr: Bitte, meine Mutter, ich will dein Angesicht nicht beschämen.
21 She sayd then, Let Abishag the Shunammite be giuen to Adonijah thy brother to wife.
Sie sprach: Laß Abisag von Sunem deinem Bruder Adonia zum Weibe geben.
22 But King Salomon answered and sayd vnto his mother, And why doest thou aske Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? aske for him the kingdome also: for he is mine elder brother, and hath for him both Abiathar the Priest, and Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah.
Da antwortete der König Salomo und sprach zu seiner Mutter: Warum bittest du um Abisag von Sunem dem Adonia? Bitte ihm das Königreich auch; denn er ist mein größter Bruder und hat den Priester Abjathar und Joab, den Sohn Zerujas.
23 Then King Salomon sware by the Lord, saying, God doe so to me and more also, if Adoniiah hath not spoken this worde against his owne life.
Und der König Salomo schwur bei dem HERRN und sprach: Gott tue mir dies und das, Adonia soll das wider sein Leben geredet haben!
24 Now therefore as ye Lord liueth, who hath established me, and set me on the throne of Dauid my father, who also hath made me an house, as he promised, Adoniiah shall surely die this day.
Und nun, so wahr der HERR lebt, der mich bestätigt hat und sitzen lassen auf dem Stuhl meines Vaters David, und der mir ein Haus gemacht hat, wie er geredet hat: heute soll Adonia sterben.
25 And King Salomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and hee smote him that he dyed.
Und der König Salomo sandte hin durch Benaja, den Sohn Jojadas; der schlug ihn, daß er starb.
26 Then the King sayd vnto Abiathar the Priest, Go to Anathoth vnto thine owne fieldes: for thou art worthy of death: but I will not this day kill thee, because thou barest the Arke of the Lord God before Dauid my father, and because thou hast suffered in all, wherein my father hath bene afflicted.
Und zu dem Priester Abjathar sprach der König: Gehe hin gen Anathoth zu deinem Acker; denn du bist des Todes. Aber ich will dich heute nicht töten; denn du hast die Lade des HERRN HERRN vor meinem Vater David getragen und hast mitgelitten, wo mein Vater gelitten hat.
27 So Salomon cast out Abiathar from being Priest vnto the Lord, that he might fulfill the wordes of the Lord, which he spake against the house of Eli in Shiloh.
Also verstieß Salomo den Abjathar, daß er nicht mußte Priester des HERRN sein, auf daß erfüllet würde des HERRN Wort, das er über das Haus Elis geredet hatte zu Silo.
28 Then tidings came to Ioab: (for Ioab had turned after Adoniiah, but he turned not after Absalom) and Ioab fled vnto the Tabernacle of the Lord, and caught hold on the hornes of the altar.
Und dies Gerücht kam vor Joab; denn Joab hatte an Adonia gehangen, wiewohl nicht an Absalom. Da floh Joab in die Hütte des HERRN und fassete die Hörner des Altars.
29 And it was tolde king Salomon, that Ioab was fled vnto the Tabernacle of the Lord, and beholde, he is by the altar. Then Salomon sent Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, saying, Goe, fall vpon him.
Und es ward dem Könige Salomo angesagt, daß Joab zur Hütte des HERRN geflohen wäre; und siehe, er stehet am Altar. Da sandte Salomo hin Benaja, den Sohn Jojadas, und sprach: Gehe, schlage ihn!
30 And Benaiah came to the Tabernacle of the Lord, and sayd vnto him, Thus sayth the King, Come out. And he sayde, Nay, but I will die here. Then Benaiah brought the King worde againe, saying, Thus sayd Ioab, and thus he answered me.
Und da Benaja zur Hütte des HERRN kam, sprach er zu ihm: So sagt der König, gehe heraus! Er sprach: Nein, hie will ich sterben. Und Benaja sagte solches dem Könige wieder und sprach: So hat Joab geredet und so hat er mir geantwortet.
31 And the King sayde vnto him, Doe as he hath sayd, and smite him, and bury him, that thou mayest take away the blood, which Ioab shed causelesse, from me and from the house of my father.
Der König sprach zu ihm: Tue, wie er geredet hat, und schlage ihn und begrabe ihn, daß du das Blut, das Joab umsonst vergossen hat, von mir tust und von meines Vaters Hause,
32 And the Lord shall bring his blood vpon his owne head: for he smote two men more righteous and better then he, and slew them with the sword, and my father Dauid knew not: to wit, Abner the sonne of Ner, captaine of the hoste of Israel, and Amasa the sonne of Iether captaine of the hoste of Iudah.
und der HERR ihm bezahle sein Blut auf seinen Kopf, daß er zween Männer geschlagen hat, die gerechter und besser waren denn er, und hat sie erwürget mit dem Schwert, daß mein Vater David nichts drum wußte, nämlich Abner, den Sohn Ners, den Feldhauptmann über Israel, und Amasa, den Sohn Jethers, den Feldhauptmann über Juda;
33 Their blood shall therefore returne vpon the head of Ioab, and on the head of his seede for euer: but vpon Dauid, and vpon his seede, and vpon his house, and vpon his throne shall there be peace for euer from the Lord.
daß ihr Blut bezahlet werde auf den Kopf Joabs und seines Samens ewiglich, aber David und sein Same, sein Haus und sein Stuhl Frieden habe ewiglich vor dem HERRN.
34 So Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada went vp, and smote him, and slewe him, and he was buryed in his owne house in the wildernesse.
Und Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas, ging hinauf und schlug ihn und tötete ihn. Und er ward begraben in seinem Hause in der Wüste.
35 And the King put Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada in his roume ouer the hoste: and the King set Zadok the Priest in the roume of Abiathar.
Und der König setzte Benaja, den Sohn Jojadas, an seiner Statt über das Heer; und Zadok, den Priester, setzte der König an die Statt Abjathars.
36 Afterwarde the King sent, and called Shimei, and sayde vnto him, Buylde thee an house in Ierusalem, and dwell there, and depart not thence any whither.
Und der König sandte hin und ließ Simei rufen und sprach zu ihm: Baue dir ein Haus zu Jerusalem und wohne daselbst; und gehe von dannen nicht heraus, weder hie noch daher!
37 For that day that thou goest out, and passest ouer the riuer of Kidron, knowe assuredly, that thou shalt dye the death: thy blood shall be vpon thine owne head.
Welches Tages du wirst hinausgehen und über den Bach Kidron gehen, so wisse, daß du des Todes sterben mußt; dein Blut sei auf deinem Kopf!
38 And Shimei sayd vnto the King, The thing is good: as my lord the King hath sayd, so wil thy seruant doe. So Shimei dwelt in Ierusalem many dayes.
Simei sprach zum Könige: Das ist eine gute Meinung; wie mein HERR, der König, geredet hat, so soll dein Knecht tun. Also wohnete Simei zu Jerusalem lange Zeit.
39 And after three yeres two of the seruants of Shimei fled away vnto Achish sonne of Maachah King of Gath: and they tolde Shimei, saying, Behold, thy seruants be in Gath.
Es begab sich aber über drei Jahre, daß zween Knechte dem Simei entliefen zu Achis, dem Sohn Maechas, dem Könige zu Gath. Und es ward Simei angesagt: Siehe, deine Knechte sind zu Gath.
40 And Shimei arose, and sadled his asse, and went to Gath to Achish, to seeke his seruantes: and Shimei went, and brought his seruants from Gath.
Da machte sich Simei auf und sattelte seinen Esel und zog hin gen Gath zu Achis, daß er seine Knechte suchte. Und da er hinkam, brachte er seine Knechte von Gath.
41 And it was tolde Salomon, that Shimei had gone from Ierusalem to Gath, and was come againe.
Und es ward Salomo angesagt, daß Simei hingezogen wäre von Jerusalem gen Gath und wiederkommen.
42 And the King sent and called Shimei, and sayde vnto him, Did I not make thee to sweare by the Lord, and protested vnto thee, saying, That day that thou goest out, and walkest any whither, knowe assuredly that thou shalt dye the death? And thou saydest vnto mee, The thing is good, that I haue heard.
Da sandte der König hin und ließ Simei rufen und sprach zu ihm: Habe ich dir nicht geschworen bei dem HERRN und dir bezeuget und gesagt, welches Tages du würdest ausziehen und hie oder dahin gehen, daß du wissen solltest, du müßtest des Todes sterben? Und du sprachst zu mir: Ich habe eine gute Meinung gehöret.
43 Why then hast thou not kept the othe of the Lord, and the commandement wherewith I charged thee?
Warum hast du denn nicht dich gehalten nach dem Eide des HERRN und Gebot, das ich dir geboten habe?
44 The King sayde also to Shimei, Thou knowest all the wickednes whereunto thine heart is priuie, that thou diddest to Dauid my father: the Lord therefore shall bring thy wickednesse vpon thine owne head.
Und der König sprach zu Simei: Du weißt alle die Bosheit, der dir dein Herz bewußt ist, die du meinem Vater David getan hast; der HERR hat deine Bosheit bezahlet auf deinen Kopf.
45 And let King Salomon be blessed, and the throne of Dauid stablished before the Lord for euer.
Und der König Salomo ist gesegnet, und der Stuhl Davids wird beständig sein vor dem HERRN ewiglich.
46 So the King comanded Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada: who went out and smote him that he dyed. And the kingdome was established in the hand of Salomon.
Und der König gebot Benaja, dem Sohn Jojadas; der ging hinaus und schlug ihn, daß er starb. Und das Königreich ward bestätiget durch Salomos Hand.
