Psalms 71
1 Lord, you are the one who keeps me safe; please don't disappoint me.
J'ai cherché en toi mon refuge, ô Éternel; Que mon espoir ne soit jamais déçu!
2 Save me, rescue me, because you always do what is right.
Dans ta justice, délivre-moi, retire-moi du danger; Incline ton oreille vers moi, et sauve-moi!
3 Please listen to me, and save me. Be my rock of protection where I can always go and hide. You gave the command to save me; for you are my rock and fortress.
Sois mon rocher, la retraite Où je puisse me réfugier en tout temps! Tu as donné des ordres pour que je sois sauvé; Car tu es mon rocher et ma forteresse.
4 My God, rescue me from the power of the wicked, from the clutches of those who are evil and brutal.
Mon Dieu, délivre-moi des mains du méchant, Des mains de l'homme inique et de l'oppresseur!
5 For you, Lord God, are my hope. You are the one I have trusted since I was young.
Car tu es mon espérance, ô Seigneur, Éternel! C'est en toi que je me confie depuis ma jeunesse.
6 I have depended on you since birth; you have taken care of me from my mother's womb. That's why I'm always praising you!
Je me suis appuyé sur toi dès ma naissance; C'est toi qui m'as tiré du sein de ma mère! Tu es l'objet de mes louanges en tout temps.
7 My life has been like a miracle to many people, for you have been my powerful protector.
Je suis, pour plusieurs, un sujet d'étonnement; Mais toi, tu es ma forte citadelle.
8 All day long I am full of praise for you, telling how wonderful you are!
Que ma bouche soit pleine de ta louange. Et qu'elle te glorifie chaque jour!»
9 Don't reject me now I'm getting old. When my strength is gone, please don't abandon me.
Ne me rejette pas au temps de ma vieillesse; Quand ma force s'en va, ne m'abandonne point!
10 For my enemies are talking about me; those who want to kill me are plotting together.
Car mes ennemis parlent de moi; Ceux qui guettent ma vie conspirent ensemble,
11 They say, “God has given up on him. Let's go after him because there's no one to save him.”
Disant: «Dieu l'a abandonné; Poursuivez-le, saisissez-le; Car il n'y a personne pour le délivrer!»
12 God, please don't stay away from me. My God, hurry to help me!
Dieu! Ne t'éloigne pas de moi! Mon Dieu, accours à mon aide!
13 Defeat my accusers, get rid of them! May those who want to cause me trouble be covered with shame and disgrace!
Que ceux qui en veulent à ma vie Rougissent de honte et qu'ils périssent! Que ceux qui cherchent ma perte Soient couverts d'opprobre et de confusion!
14 As for me, I will go on hoping in you, and I will praise you more and more.
Mais moi, j'espérerai en tout temps, Et je te louerai toujours davantage.
15 I will talk about your goodness and your salvation every day, even though it's more than I can understand.
Ma bouche célébrera chaque jour Ta justice et tes délivrances. Sans jamais parvenir à énumérer tes bienfaits.
16 I will come and explain what the Lord has done. I will remind people that you alone do what is right.
Je raconterai partout tes grandes oeuvres, Seigneur, Éternel! C'est ta justice seule que je célébrerai.
17 God, you have taught me since I was young, and I still tell others about all the wonderful things you do.
Dieu, tu m'as instruit dès ma jeunesse. Et jusqu'à ce jour j'ai fait connaître tes oeuvres merveilleuses,
18 Even though I'm old and gray, please don't abandon me, God. Let me tell the new generation about your power. Let me explain to all who are to come the great things you do.
C'est pourquoi, jusqu'à la vieillesse. Jusqu'à la blanche vieillesse, Dieu, ne m'abandonne pas, Afin que je révèle la vigueur de ton bras à la génération nouvelle, Et ta puissance à tous ceux qui naîtront!
19 God, your trustworthy and true nature is higher than the highest heaven! You have done incredible things! God, who is like you?
Ta justice, ô Dieu, atteint jusqu'au ciel! Tu as accompli de grandes oeuvres. Dieu, qui est semblable à toi?
20 You had me face many troubles and plenty of misery, but you will bring me back to life; you will rise me up from the depths of the earth.
Après m'avoir fait passer par des détresses Et des maux sans nombre. Tu m'as de nouveau rendu la vie, Et tu m'as fait remonter des abîmes de la terre!
21 You will give me even greater prestige, and you will make me happy again.
Tu accroîtras ma grandeur, Et tu me consoleras encore.
22 Then I will praise you on the harp for your trustworthiness, my God. I will sing praises to you on the lyre, Holy One of Israel.
Aussi, je te célébrerai sur les cordes de la lyre; Je chanterai ta fidélité, ô mon Dieu! Je psalmodierai en ton honneur sur la harpe, ô Saint d'Israël!
23 I will shout for joy as I sing praises to you, for you have redeemed me.
Mes lèvres, et mon âme que tu as rachetée, Entonneront des chants de joie. Quand je psalmodierai à ta gloire.
24 All day long I will tell about all the good things you have done, for those who tried to cause me misery have been disgraced and humiliated.
Ma langue aussi, chaque jour, redira ta justice; Car ils seront confus, ils rougiront. Ceux qui souhaitent ma ruine!
