2 Chronicles 31

1 When all this had finished, the Israelites who were there went to the towns of Judah and smashed the pagan pillars, cut down the Asherah poles, and destroyed the high places and altars throughout Judah and Benjamin, as well as in Ephraim and Manasseh, until they had completely demolished all of them. After that they all went home to their respective towns.

Und da dies alles war ausgerichtet, zogen hinaus alle Israeliten, die unter den Städten Judas funden wurden, und zerbrachen die Säulen und hieben die Haine ab und brachen ab die Höhen und Altäre aus dem ganzen Juda, Benjamin, Ephraim und Manasse, bis sie sie gar aufräumten. Und die Kinder Israel zogen alle wieder zu ihrem Gut in ihre Städte.

2 Then Hezekiah reallocated the divisions of the priests and Levites, each according to their service: presenting burnt offerings and friendship offerings, serving, giving thanks, and singing praises at the entrances of the Lord's Temple.

Hiskia aber stellete die Priester und Leviten in ihre Ordnung, einen jeglichen nach seinem Amt, beide der Priester und Leviten, zu Brandopfern und Dankopfern, daß sie dieneten, danketen und lobeten in den Toren des Lagers des HERRN.

3 The king contributed personally towards the morning and evening burnt offerings, and for the burnt offerings on the Sabbaths, new moons, and special feasts, as required by the Law of the Lord.

Und der König gab sein Teil von seiner Habe zu Brandopfern des Morgens und des Abends und zu Brandopfern des Sabbats und Neumonden und Festen, wie es geschrieben stehet im Gesetz des HERRN.

4 He also ordered the people living in Jerusalem to provide for the priests and Levites so that they could dedicate themselves to studying and teaching the Law of the Lord.

Und er sprach zum Volk, das zu Jerusalem wohnete, daß sie Teil gäben den Priestern und Leviten, auf daß sie könnten desto härter anhalten am Gesetz des HERRN.

5 As soon as the message went out, the Israelites generously gave the firstfruits of the grain, new wine, olive oil, and honey, and of all the crops. They brought plenty, a tithe of everything.

Und da das Wort auskam, gaben die Kinder Israel viel Erstlinge von Getreide, Most, Öl, Honig und allerlei Einkommens vom Felde; und allerlei Zehnten brachten sie viel hinein.

6 The people of Israel now living in Judah, and the people of Judah brought a tithe of their herds and flocks. They also brought a tithe of what had been dedicated to the Lord their God, and piled them up.

Und die Kinder Israel und Juda, die in den Städten Judas wohneten, brachten auch Zehnten von Rindern und Schafen und Zehnten von dem Geheiligten, das sie dem HERRN, ihrem Gott, geheiliget hatten, und machten hie einen Haufen und da einen Haufen.

7 They started doing this in the third month, and they finished in the seventh month.

Im dritten Monden fingen sie an, Haufen zu legen, und im siebenten Monden richteten sie es aus.

8 When Hezekiah and his officials came and saw what had been collected, they thanked the Lord and his people Israel.

Und da Hiskia mit den Obersten hineinging und sahen die Haufen, lobeten sie den HERRN und sein Volk Israel.

9 Hezekiah asked the priests and Levites about what had been collected.

Und Hiskia fragte die Priester und Leviten um die Haufen.

10 Azariah, the chief priest of the family of Zadok, answered, “Ever since the people began to bring their contributions into the Lord's Temple, we have had enough to eat and plenty to spare. Because the Lord has blessed his people there is so much left over.”

Und Asarja, der Priester, der Vornehmste im Hause Zadok, sprach zu ihm: Seit der Zeit man angefangen hat, die Hebe zu bringen ins Haus des HERRN, haben wir gegessen und sind satt worden, und ist noch viel überblieben; denn der HERR hat sein Volk gesegnet, darum ist dieser Haufe überblieben.

11 Hezekiah ordered the construction of storehouses in the Lord's Temple. Once they were ready,

Da befahl der König, daß man Kasten zubereiten sollte am Hause des HERRN. Und sie bereiteten sie zu

12 the people faithfully brought in their offerings, tithes, and dedicated gifts. Conaniah the Levite was the one who was responsible for them, and his brother Shimei was second in command.

und taten hinein die Hebe, die Zehnten und das Geheiligte treulich. Und über dasselbe war Fürst Chananja, der Levit, und Simei, sein Bruder, der andere,

13 They were in charge of the following officers: Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, Mahath, and Benaiah were overseers who assisted Conaniah and Shimei his brother. They were appointed by King Hezekiah and Azariah, the chief officer of God's Temple.

und Jehiel, Asasja, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Josabad, Eliel, Jesmachja, Mahath und Benaja, verordnet von der Hand Chananjas und Simeis, seines Bruders, nach dem Befehl des Königs Hiskia. Aber Asarja war Fürst im Hause Gottes.

14 Kore, son of Imnah, the Levite, the gatekeeper of the East Gate, was responsible for receiving the freewill offerings given to God. He also distributed the offerings given to the Lord, together with the consecrated gifts.

Und Kore, der Sohn Jemnas, der Levit, der Torhüter gegen Morgen, war über die freiwilligen Gaben Gottes, die dem HERRN zur Hebe gegeben wurden, und über die allerheiligsten.

15 Under him were his assistants Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah. They faithfully made the allocations to their fellow Levites in their towns, according to the priestly divisions, sharing equally with the old and young.

Und unter seiner Hand waren: Eden, Minjamin, Jesua, Semaja, Amarja und Sachanja in den Städten der Priester, auf Glauben, daß sie geben sollten ihren Brüdern nach ihrer Ordnung, dem Kleinsten wie dem Großen;

16 They also gave allowances to the males listed in the genealogy who were three years of age or older, to all who would enter the Lord's Temple to perform their daily duties of serving according to the responsibilities of their divisions.

dazu denen, die gerechnet wurden für Mannsbilde von drei Jahren alt und drüber, unter allen, die in das Haus des HERRN gingen, ein jeglicher an seinem Tage zu ihrem Amt in ihrer Hut nach ihrer Ordnung;

17 They also gave allowances to the priests listed by family in the genealogy, and to the Levites twenty years of age or older, according to the responsibilities of their divisions.

auch die für Priester gerechnet wurden im Hause ihrer Väter, und die Leviten, von zwanzig Jahren und drüber, in ihrer Hut nach ihrer Ordnung;

18 The genealogy included all the babies, wives, sons, and daughters of the whole community, for they were faithful in making sure they dedicated themselves as holy.

dazu die gerechnet wurden unter ihre Kinder, Weiber, Söhne und Töchter, unter der ganzen Gemeine. Denn sie heiligten treulich das Geheiligte.

19 In the case of the priests, the descendants of Aaron, those who lived on the farmlands around their towns, men were appointed by name in all the towns to distribute an allocation to every male among the priests and to every Levite as listed in the genealogies.

Auch waren Männer mit Namen benannt unter den Kindern Aaron, den Priestern, auf den Feldern der Vorstädte in allen Städten, daß sie Teil gäben allen Mannsbildern unter den Priestern und allen, die unter die Leviten gerechnet wurden.

20 This is what Hezekiah did throughout the whole of Judah. He did what was good, right, and true before the Lord his God.

Also tat Hiskia im ganzen Juda und tat, was gut, recht und wahrhaftig war vor dem HERRN, seinem Gott.

21 In everything he did in working for God's Temple and in following God's laws and commandments, Hezekiah was sincere in his commitment to God. So he was successful in all he did.

Und in allem Tun, das er anfing, am Dienst des Hauses Gottes nach dem Gesetz und Gebot, zu suchen seinen Gott, das tat er von ganzem Herzen; darum hatte er auch Glück.
