< 2 Corinthians 1 >

1 Paul, apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and brother Timothy, to the church of God that is in Corinth, together with all the saints throughout Achaia:
ⲁ̅ⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ ⳿ⲡⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲟⲩⲱϣ ⳿ⲙⲫϯ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲧⲓⲙⲟⲑⲉⲟⲥ ⲡⲓⲥⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛϯⲉⲕ⳿ⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓ⳿ⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲑⲏⲉⲧϣⲟⲡ ϧⲉⲛ ⲕⲟⲣⲓⲛⲑⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲡ ϧⲉⲛ ϯⲁⲭⲁⲓⲁ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ.
2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and Sovereign Jesus Christ.
ⲃ̅⳿ⲡ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲧϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲫϯ ⲡⲉⲛⲓⲱⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲉⲛ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
3 All praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and God of all encouragement,
ⲅ̅⳿ϥ⳿ⲥⲙⲁⲣⲱⲟⲩⲧ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲫϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲫⲓⲱⲧ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲛ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⳿ⲫⲓⲱⲧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲙⲉⲧϣⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲟⲙϯ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ.
4 who encourages us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to encourage those who are in whatever affliction, by means of the encouragement with which we ourselves are encouraged by God.
ⲇ̅ⲫⲁⲓ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁϥϯⲛⲟⲙϯ ⲛⲁⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲛϩⲟϫϩⲉϫ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲉⲑⲣⲉⲛϫⲉⲙϫⲟⲙ ϩⲱⲛ ⳿ⲉϯ ⲛⲟⲙϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲭⲏ ϧⲉⲛ ϩⲟϫϩⲉϫ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ϯⲛⲟⲙϯ ⲑⲏⲉⲧⲁ ⲫϯ ϯⲛⲟⲙϯ ⲛⲁⲛ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲥ.
5 Because just as the sufferings of the Christ flow over into us, so also our encouraging overflows, through Christ.
ⲉ̅ϫⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲙⲕⲁⲩϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⳿ⲥⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲧⲉⲛⲕⲉⲛⲟⲙϯ.
6 Now then, if we are afflicted, it is for the sake of your encouragement and deliverance, that are effective for enduring the same sufferings that we also are suffering
ⲋ̅⳿ⲓⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲥⲉϩⲟϫϩⲉϫ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲟⲙϯ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⳿ⲓⲧⲉ ⲥⲉⲑⲱⲧ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲟⲙϯ ⲑⲏ ⲉⲧⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲁⲙⲟⲛⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲧϥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ⳿ⲙⲕⲁⲩϩ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲛⲁⲓ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲙⲟⲕϩ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ ϩⲱⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲧⲉⲛϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⲧⲁϫⲣⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ.
7 (yes, our hope concerning you is steadfast); if we are encouraged, it also is for the sake of your encouragement and deliverance, since we know that you will share in the encouragement just as you do in the sufferings.
ⲍ̅ⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ϫⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣ ⳿ⲉⲛⲓ⳿ⲙⲕⲁⲩϩ ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉϯⲕⲉⲛⲟⲙϯ.
8 And so, brothers, we do not want you to be in ignorance concerning the affliction that came upon us in Asia: we were under extreme pressure, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life.
ⲏ̅⳿ⲛϯⲟⲩⲉϣ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲁⲧ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⲛⲁ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲡⲓϩⲟϫϩⲉϫ ⲉⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ϯⲁⲥⲓⲁ ϫⲉ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⲁⲩ⳿ϩⲣⲟϣ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲛ ⳿ⲛϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲟⲙ ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛ⳿ϣⲧⲉⲙϫⲉⲙϩⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲕⲉⲱⲛϧ.
9 Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, so that we not place confidence in ourselves, but in the God who raises the dead;
ⲑ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲉⲛ ⲁⲛϭⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛ⳿ϣⲧⲉⲙϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲣⲉ⳿ϩⲑⲏⲛ ⲭⲏ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧⲉⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⳿ⲉⲫϯ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲣⲉϥⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ.
10 He did deliver us from that deadly peril, and still delivers; in whom we trust that He will keep on delivering,
ⲓ̅ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲛⲁϩⲙⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲁⲓⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲁⲓⲙⲁⲓⲏ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ϥⲛⲁⲛⲁϩⲙⲉⲛ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁⲛⲉⲣϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲉⲧⲓ ⲟⲛ ⳿ϥⲛⲁⲛⲁϩⲙⲉⲛ.
11 you also adding your cooperation in prayer, on our behalf; that thanks may be given by many persons for the gift bestowed on us by means of many, on your behalf.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲓ ϩⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣ ⳿ⲛⲣⲉϥⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲧⲱⲃϩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲛ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⳿ⲛϯϩⲟ ⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲉⲧϩⲁⲣⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⳿ⲛⲥⲉϣⲉⲡ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲛ.
12 Now this is our boast: the testimony of our conscience that we have conducted ourselves in the world with openness and godly sincerity, not by fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and especially toward you.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲡⲉⲛϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲧⲉⲛⲥⲩⲛⲏⲇⲉⲥⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲧⲟⲩⲃⲟ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲥⲃⲱ ⳿ⲛⲥⲁⲣⲕⲓⲕⲏ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲁⲛⲙⲟϣⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⲇⲉ ϧⲁⲧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ.
13 For we do not write you any other things than what you can read and understand; and I do hope that you will keep on understanding to the end
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ϩⲁⲛⲕⲉⲭⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲥϧⲁⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲏⲗ ⳿ⲉⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲱϣ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣ⳿ⲡⲕⲉⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ϯⲉⲣϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ϣⲁ ϧⲁ⳿ⲉ.
14 (as indeed some of you have acknowledged) that we are your boast, just as you are ours, in the day of the Lord Jesus.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛⲉⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲁⲡⲟⲙⲉⲣⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ϩⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲫⲱⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲛ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ.̅.
15 It was in this confidence that I was planning to come by you first,
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲁⲓⲑⲱⲧ ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲁⲓⲟⲩⲱϣ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϭⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲣⲁϣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁϩⲃ̅.
16 and by you to proceed into Macedonia, and to come back to you from Macedonia (that you might benefit twice), and then to be sent by you on my way to Judea.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲁϣⲉ ⲛⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲑⲙⲁⲕⲉⲇⲟⲛⲓ⳿ⲁ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲁⲗⲓⲛ ⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲑⲙⲁⲕⲉⲇⲟⲛⲓⲁ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲧⲫⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉϯⲓⲟⲩⲇⲉ⳿ⲁ.
17 Now then, when I was deciding this, I was not acting frivolously, was I? Or the things I decide, do I decide according to the flesh, so that with me there would be both “Yes, yes” and “No, no”?
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲫⲁⲓ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲓⲟⲩⲁϣϥ ⲙⲏⲧⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲁ ⲁⲓ⳿ⲓⲣⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲥⲓⲁⲓ ⲓⲉ ⲛⲏ⳿ⲉϯⲥⲟϭⲛⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲁⲓⲥⲟϭⲛⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲥⲁⲣⲝ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲧ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲁϩⲁ ⲁϩⲁ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ.
18 As God is faithful, our word to you was not “Yes” and “No”,
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅⳿ϥⲉⲛϩⲟⲧ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲫϯ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲉⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲁϩⲁ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ.
19 because the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was proclaimed among you by us—by me and Silvanus and Timothy—was not “Yes” and “No”. In fact, with Him it has always been “Yes”,
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲡⲓϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲛϩⲓⲱⲓϣ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲥⲓⲗⲟⲩⲁⲛⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲧⲓⲙⲟⲑⲉⲟⲥ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲁϩⲁ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲟⲩⲁϩⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ.
20 because all the promises of God in Him are “Yes”; indeed, in Him they are “Amen”, that there be glory to God through us.
ⲕ̅ⲛⲓⲱϣ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲛϧⲏ ⲧϥ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲁϩⲁ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲓⲁⲙⲏⲛ ⳿ⲙⲫϯ ⲉⲩⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧⲉⲛ.
21 Now He who establishes us together with you into Christ, and who anointed us, is God,
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲫⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲧⲁϫⲣⲟ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲛⲉⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁϥⲑⲁϩⲥⲉⲛ ⲫϯ ⲡⲉ.
22 who also sealed us and gave us the down payment of the Spirit in our hearts.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲉⲣ⳿ⲥ⳿ⲫⲣⲁⲅⲓⲍⲓⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϯ ⲛⲁⲛ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡⲁⲣⲏⲃ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲡⲛ̅ⲁ̅ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉⲛⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ.
23 For my part, I call on God as witness, upon my soul, that it was to spare you that I have not yet returned to Corinth.
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ϯⲱϣ ⲟⲩⲃⲉ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲙⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲧⲁⲯⲩⲭⲏ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓϯⲁⲥⲟ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓ⳿ⲓ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲉⲕⲟⲣⲓⲛⲑⲟⲥ.
24 (Not that we have control over your faith, but we work with you for your joy, for it is by faith that you stand firm.)
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲟⲩⲭ ⲟⲧⲓ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳪ ⳿ⲉⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁϩϯ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣ ⳿ⲛⲣⲉϥⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ⳿ⲉⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲣⲁϣⲓ ⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟϩⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ.
