Ezekiel 31

1 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third [month], on the first of the month, [that] the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

۱ و در روز اول ماه سوم از سال یازدهم، کلام خداوند بر من نازل شده، گفت:

2 Son of man, say unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude: Whom art thou like in thy greatness?

۲ «ای پسر انسان به فرعون پادشاه مصر و به جمعیت او بگو: کیست که در بزرگیت به اوشباهت داری؟

3 Behold, Assyria was a cedar in Lebanon, with fair branches and a shadowing shroud, and of a high stature: and his top was amidst the thick boughs.

۳ اینک آشور سرو آزاد لبنان باشاخه های جمیل و برگهای سایه‌گستر و قد بلندمی بود و سر او به ابرها می‌بود.

4 The waters made him great, the deep set him up on high; its streams ran round about his plantation, and it sent out its rivulets unto all the trees of the field.

۴ آبها او را نمو داد. و لجه او را بلند ساخت که نهرهای آنها بهر طرف بوستان آن جاری می‌شد و جویهای خویش رابطرف همه درختان صحرا روان می‌ساخت.

5 Therefore his height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long, because of great waters, when he shot forth.

۵ ازاین جهت قد او از جمیع درختان صحرا بلندترشده، شاخه هایش زیاده گردید و اغصان خود رانمو داده، آنها از کثرت آبها بلند شد.

6 All the fowl of the heavens made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all the great nations.

۶ و همه مرغان هوا در شاخه هایش آشیانه ساختند. وتمامی حیوانات صحرا زیر اغصانش بچه آوردند. و جمیع امت های عظیم در سایه‌اش سکنی گرفتند.

7 Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: because his root was by great waters.

۷ پس در بزرگی خود و در درازی شاخه های خویش خوشنما شد چونکه ریشه‌اش نزد آبهای بسیار بود.

8 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him; the cypresses were not like his boughs, and the plane-trees were not as his branches: no tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty.

۸ سروهای آزاد باغ خدا آن را نتوانست پنهان کرد. و صنوبرها به شاخه هایش مشابهت نداشت. و چنارها مثل اغصانش نبودبلکه هیچ درخت در باغ خدا به زیبایی او مشابه نبود.

9 I had made him fair by the multitude of his branches; and all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.

۹ من او را به کثرت شاخه هایش به حدی زیبایی دادم که همه درختان عدن که در باغ خدابود بر او حسد بردند.»

10 Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thou hast lifted up thyself in stature, ...and he hath set his top amidst the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height,

۱۰ بنابراین خداوند یهوه چنین می‌فرماید: «چونکه قد تو بلند شده است، و او سر خود را درمیان ابرها برافراشته و دلش از بلندیش مغرورگردیده است،

11 I have given him into the hand of the mighty one of the nations; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.

۱۱ از این جهت من او را به‌دست قوی ترین (پادشاه ) امت‌ها تسلیم خواهم نمود واو آنچه را که می‌باید به وی خواهد کرد. و من او رابه‌سبب شرارتش بیرون خواهم‌انداخت.

12 And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off and have left him; upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken in all the watercourses of the land; and all the peoples of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.

۱۲ وغریبان یعنی ستمکیشان امت‌ها او را منقطع ساخته، ترک خواهند نمود. و شاخه هایش برکوهها و در جمیع دره‌ها خواهد افتاد و اغصان اونزد همه وادیهای زمین شکسته خواهد شد. وجمیع قوم های زمین از زیر سایه او فرود آمده، اورا ترک خواهند نمود.

13 Upon his fallen [trunk] do all the fowl of the heavens dwell, and all the beasts of the field are upon his branches:

۱۳ و همه مرغان هوا بر تنه افتاده او آشیانه گرفته، تمامی حیوانات صحرا برشاخه هایش ساکن خواهند شد.

14 to the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves in their stature, nor set their top amidst the thick boughs, and that none of them that drink water stand up in his height by himself; for they are all given over unto death in the lower parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.

۱۴ تا آنکه هیچکدام از درختانی که نزد آبها می‌باشند قدخود را بلند نکنند و سرهای خود را در میان ابرهابرنیفرازند. و زورآوران آنها از همگانی که سیراب می‌باشند، در بلندی خود نایستند. زیرا که جمیع آنها در اسفلهای زمین در میان پسران انسانی که به هاویه فرود می‌روند به مرگ تسلیم شده‌اند.»

15 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day when he went down to Sheol, I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed; and I made Lebanon black for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him. (Sheol h7585)

۱۵ و خداوند یهوه چنین می‌گوید: «در روزی که او به عالم اموات فرود می‌رود، من ماتمی برپامی نمایم و لجه را برای وی پوشانیده، نهرهایش را باز خواهم داشت. و آبهای عظیم باز داشته خواهد شد و لبنان را برای وی سوگوار خواهم کرد. و جمیع درختان صحرا برایش ماتم خواهندگرفت. (Sheol h7585)

16 I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to Sheol, with them that go down into the pit; and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, were comforted in the lower parts of the earth. (Sheol h7585)

۱۶ و چون او را با آنانی که به هاویه فرودمی روند به عالم اموات فرود آورم، آنگاه امت هارا از صدای انهدامش متزلزل خواهم ساخت. وجمیع درختان عدن یعنی برگزیده و نیکوترین لبنان از همگانی که سیراب می‌شوند، در اسفلهای زمین تسلی خواهند یافت. (Sheol h7585)

17 They also went down into Sheol with him unto them that were slain with the sword, and [that were] his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the nations. (Sheol h7585)

۱۷ و ایشان نیز بامقتولان شمشیر و انصارش که در میان امت‌ها زیرسایه او ساکن می‌بودند، همراه وی به عالم اموات فرود خواهند رفت. (Sheol h7585)

18 To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? Yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden, unto the lower parts of the earth; thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, with them that are slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord Jehovah.

۱۸ به کدام‌یک از درختان عدن در جلال و عظمت چنین شباهت داشتی؟ اما با درختان عدن به اسفلهای زمین تو را فرودخواهند‌آورد و در میان نامختونان با مقتولان شمشیر خواهی خوابید. خداوند یهوه می‌گویدکه فرعون و تمامی جماعتش این است.»
