1 Corinthians 7
1 But concerning the things of which ye have written [to me]: [It is] good for a man not to touch a woman;
Um auf das zu kommen, wovon ihr geschrieben habt: so ist es für einen Mann gut, keine Frau zu berühren.
2 but on account of fornications, let each have his own wife, and each [woman] have her own husband.
Doch wegen der Unzuchtsverirrungen mag jeder seine Frau und jede Frau ihren Mann haben.
3 Let the husband render her due to the wife, and in like manner the wife to the husband.
Der Mann gewähre der Frau, was er ihr schuldig ist, ebenso auch die Frau dem Manne.
4 The wife has not authority over her own body, but the husband: in like manner also the husband has not authority over his own body, but the wife.
Die Frau hat nicht über ihren Leib zu verfügen, sondern der Mann; und ebenso auch der Mann nicht über den seinigen, sondern die Frau.
5 Defraud not one another, unless, it may be, by consent for a time, that ye may devote yourselves to prayer, and again be together, that Satan tempt you not because of your incontinency.
Entziehet euch einander nicht, es sei denn nach Uebereinkunft auf einige Zeit, um ohne Störung dem Gebet zu leben, und dann wieder zusammen zu gehen, damit euch der Satan nicht versuche, eurer Unenthaltsamkeit wegen.
6 But this I say, as consenting [to], not as commanding [it].
Was ich da sage, ist als Zulassung zu nehmen, nicht als Gebot.
7 Now I wish all men to be even as myself: but every one has his own gift of God: one man thus, and another thus.
Ich wünschte vielmehr, daß alle Menschen wären, wie ich; aber jeder hat seine eigene Gabe von Gott, der eine so, der andere so.
8 But I say to the unmarried and to the widows, It is good for them that they remain even as I.
Den Männern aber, die keine Frau haben, und den Witwen sage ich: es ist ihnen gut, wenn sie so bleiben, wie ich auch;
9 But if they have not control over themselves, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn.
können sie sich nicht enthalten, so mögen sie heiraten; es ist besser heiraten, als Glut leiden.
10 But to the married I enjoin, not I, but the Lord, Let not wife be separated from husband;
Den Ehepaaren aber gebiete ich, vielmehr nicht ich, sondern der Herr: daß sich die Frau von ihrem Manne nicht trennen soll;
11 (but if also she shall have been separated, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband; ) and let not husband leave wife.
hat sich eine getrennt, so soll sie ledig bleiben, oder sich mit ihrem Manne wieder versöhnen; ebenso der Mann soll seine Frau nicht entlassen.
12 But as to the rest, I say, not the Lord, If any brother have an unbelieving wife, and she consent to dwell with him, let him not leave her.
Den Uebrigen sage ich, nicht der Herr: wenn ein Bruder eine ungläubige Frau hat, und diese willigt ein mit ihm zu leben, so soll er nicht von ihr lassen.
13 And a woman who has an unbelieving husband, and he consents to dwell with her, let her not leave [her] husband.
Und ebenso wenn eine Frau einen ungläubigen Mann hat, und dieser willigt ein mit ihr zu leben, so soll sie nicht von ihm lassen.
14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in the brother; since [otherwise] indeed your children are unclean, but now they are holy.
Denn der ungläubige Mann ist geheiligt durch die Frau, und die ungläubige Frau durch den Bruder; sonst wären ja auch eure Kinder unrein und sie sind doch heilig.
15 But if the unbeliever go away, let them go away; a brother or a sister is not bound in such [cases], but God has called us in peace.
Wenn sich aber der ungläubige Teil lossagen will, so mag er es haben. Bruder und Schwester sind an solche nicht gefesselt; in Friedensstand nur hat uns Gott berufen.
16 For what knowest thou, O wife, if thou shalt save thy husband? or what knowest thou, O husband, if thou shalt save thy wife?
Was weißt denn du, o Frau, davon, ob du deinen Mann retten wirst? oder du, o Mann, ob du deine Frau retten wirst?
17 However, as the Lord has divided to each, as God has called each, so let him walk; and thus I ordain in all the assemblies.
Nur das wissen wir: jeder soll leben mit dem Teil, das ihm der Herr zugeschieden, in dem Stand, in dem er ihn berufen: so verordne ich es in allen Gemeinden.
18 Has any one been called circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised: has any one been called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.
Ist einer als beschnittener berufen? so verhülle er es nicht; als Heide? so lasse er sich nicht beschneiden.
19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing; but keeping God's commandments.
Beschneidung thut es nicht und Verhüllung thut es nicht, sondern Gottes Gebote halten.
20 Let each abide in that calling in which he has been called.
Jeder bleibe in dem Stande, in dem er berufen ist.
21 Hast thou been called [being] a bondman, let it not concern thee; but and if thou canst become free, use [it] rather.
Bist du als Sklave berufen? laß dichs nicht anfechten; und wenn du auch frei werden kannst, so bleibe nur um so lieber dabei.
22 For the bondman that is called in [the] Lord is the Lord's freedman; in like manner [also] the freeman being called is Christ's bondman.
Der Sklave, der im Herrn berufen ist, ist Freigelassener des Herrn. Andererseits der als Freier berufen ist, ist Christus' Sklave.
23 Ye have been bought with a price; do not be the bondmen of men.
Ihr seid teuer erkauft; werdet keine Menschenknechte.
24 Let each, wherein he is called, brethren, therein abide with God.
Jeder bleibe bei Gott, Brüder, in dem Stande, in welchem er berufen ist.
25 But concerning virgins, I have no commandment of [the] Lord; but I give my opinion, as having received mercy of [the] Lord to be faithful.
Was aber die Jungfrauen betrifft, so habe ich kein Gebot des Herrn, ich gebe darüber meine Meinung als Gewährsmann, wie ich es durch die Barmherzigkeit des Herrn geworden bin.
26 I think then that this is good, on account of the present necessity, that [it is] good for a man to remain so as he is.
So meine ich denn, es sei bei der Bedrängnis dieser Zeit eine gute Sache darum, nämlich daß es einem Menschen gut ist, so zu sein.
27 Art thou bound to a wife? seek not to be loosed; art thou free from a wife? do not seek a wife.
Bist du an eine Frau gebunden, so suche nicht die Lösung; bist du ledig, so suche keine Frau;
28 But if thou shouldest also marry, thou hast not sinned; and if the virgin marry, they have not sinned: but such shall have tribulation in the flesh; but I spare you.
doch thust du auch, wenn du heiratest, damit keine Sünde. So auch die Jungfrau, wenn sie heiratet, thut sie keine Sünde. Trübsal für das Fleisch werden sie in dem Falle wohl haben. Was mich betrifft, so verfahre ich schonend mit euch,
29 But this I say, brethren, the time is straitened. For the rest, that they who have wives, be as not having [any]:
das aber sage ich, meine Brüder: die Zeit drängt, und hinfort gilt es, daß die da Weiber haben, seien, als hätten sie keine;
30 and they that weep, as not weeping; and they that rejoice, as not rejoicing; and they that buy, as not possessing;
die da weinen, als weinten sie nicht; die sich freuen, als freuten sie sich nicht; die da kaufen, als besäßen sie nicht,
31 and they that use the world, as not disposing of it as their own; for the fashion of this world passes.
die mit der Welt verkehren, als hätten sie nichts davon. Denn die Gestalt dieser Welt ist am vergehen.
32 But I wish you to be without care. The unmarried cares for the things of the Lord, how he shall please the Lord;
Da möchte ich, daß ihr ohne Sorgen wäret. Der Ehelose sorgt für des Herrn Sache, wie er dem Herrn gefalle.
33 but he that has married cares for the things of the world, how he shall please his wife.
Der sich verehelicht, sorgt für die Dinge der Welt, wie er seiner Frau gefalle, und ist geteilt.
34 There is a difference between the wife and the virgin. The unmarried cares for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and spirit; but she that has married cares for the things of the world, how she shall please her husband.
Desgleichen die Frau, die keinen Mann hat, so wie die Jungfrau sorgt für des Herrn Sache, auf daß sie sei heilig an Leib und Geist. Die sich verehelicht, sorgt für die Dinge der Welt, wie sie dem Manne gefalle.
35 But I say this for your own profit; not that I may set a snare before you, but for what [is] seemly, and waiting on the Lord without distraction.
Ich spreche da für euren eigenen Nutzen, nicht um eine Schlinge über euch zu werfen, sondern für edle Sitte und für ungestörtes Aushalten bei dem Herrn.
36 But if any one think that he behaves unseemly to his virginity, if he be beyond the flower of his age, and so it must be, let him do what he will, he does not sin: let them marry.
Wo aber einer denken muß, er handle unziemlich an seiner Jungfrau, wenn sie überreif wird, und es kommt so zu einem Muß, der thue, was er will; er sündigt nicht; sie mögen heiraten.
37 But he who stands firm in his heart, having no need, but has authority over his own will, and has judged this in his heart to keep his own virginity, he does well.
Wenn aber einer in seinem Herzen fest steht, keinen Zwang erleidet, sondern Herr seines Willens ist, und in seinem Herzen entschlossen ist, seine Jungfrau zu bewahren, der thut wohl daran.
38 So that he that marries himself does well; and he that does not marry does better.
Demnach thut der wohl, der seine Jungfrau zur Ehe führt, aber mehr doch der, der es nicht thut.
39 A wife is bound for whatever time her husband lives; but if the husband be fallen asleep, she is free to be married to whom she will, only in [the] Lord.
Eine Ehefrau ist gebunden, so lange ihr Mann lebt; stirbt er, so hat sie die Freiheit zu heiraten, wen sie will, nur im Herrn.
40 But she is happier if she so remain, according to my judgment; but I think that I also have God's Spirit.
Seliger aber ist sie, wenn sie so bleibt, nach meiner Meinung: ich denke aber auch den Geist Gottes zu haben.
