Psalms 99

1 A Psalm of David himself. The Lord has reigned: let the peoples be angry. He sits upon the cherubim: let the earth be moved.

Yahweh est roi: les peuples tremblent; il est assis sur les Chérubins; la terre chancelle.

2 The Lord is great in Zion, and he is high above all peoples.

Yahweh est grand dans Sion, il est élevé au dessus de tous les peuples.

3 May they confess to your great name, for it is terrible and holy.

Qu'on célèbre ton nom grand et redoutable! — Il est saint!

4 And the honor of the king loves judgment. You have prepared guidance. You have accomplished judgment and justice in Jacob.

Qu'on célèbre la puissance du Roi qui aime la justice! Tu affermis la droiture, tu exerces en Jacob la justice et l'équité.

5 Exalt the Lord our God, and adore the footstool of his feet, for it is holy.

Exaltez Yahweh, notre Dieu, et prosternez-vous devant l'escabeau de ses pieds. — Il est saint!

6 Moses and Aaron are among his priests, and Samuel is among those who call upon his name. They called upon the Lord, and he heeded them.

Moïse et Aaron étaient parmi ses prêtres, et Samuel parmi ceux qui invoquaient son nom. Ils invoquaient Yahweh, et il les exauçait,

7 He spoke to them in the pillar of the cloud. They kept his testimonies and the precept that he gave them.

il leur parlait dans la colonne de nuée. Ils observaient ses commandements, et la loi qu'il leur avait donnée.

8 You heeded them, O Lord our God. You were a forgiving God to them, though taking vengeance on all their inventions.

Yahweh, notre Dieu, tu les exauças, tu fus pour eux un Dieu clément, et tu les punis de leurs fautes.

9 Exalt the Lord our God, and adore on his holy mountain. For the Lord our God is holy.

Exaltez Yahweh, notre Dieu, et prosternez-vous devant sa montagne sainte, car il est saint, Yahweh notre Dieu!
