Psalms 72
1 A Psalm according to Solomon.
Von Salomo. Gott, gieb dein Gericht dem Könige und deine Gerechtigkeit dem Königssohn.
2 Give your judgment, O God, to the king, and your justice to the king’s son, to judge your people with justice and your poor with judgment.
Möge er dein Volk mit Gerechtigkeit richten und deine Elenden mit Recht.
3 Let the mountains take up peace for the people, and the hills, justice.
Mögen die Berge dem Volke Heil tragen, und die Hügel, durch Gerechtigkeit.
4 He will judge the poor of the people, and he will bring salvation to the sons of the poor. And he will humble the false accuser.
Er wird den Elenden im Volke Recht schaffen; er wird den Kindern des Armen helfen und den Gewaltthätigen zermalmen.
5 And he will remain, with the sun and before the moon, from generation to generation.
Er wird dauern, so lange wie die Sonne und im Angesichte des Mondes Geschlecht auf Geschlecht!
6 He will descend like rain upon fleece, and like showers showering upon the earth.
Er wird sich herabsenken wie Regen auf die frischgemähte Aue, wie Regenschauer, die das Land befeuchten.
7 In his days, justice will rise like the sun, with abundance of peace, until the moon is taken away.
In seinen Tagen wird der Fromme blühn, und Fülle des Friedens herrschen, bis kein Mond mehr ist.
8 And he will rule from sea to sea and from the river to the limits of the whole world.
Und er wird herrschen von Meer zu Meer und vom Euphratstrome bis zu den Enden der Erde.
9 In his sight, the Ethiopians will fall prostrate, and his enemies will lick the ground.
Vor ihm werden die Widersacher ihre Kniee beugen, und seine Feinde müssen Staub lecken.
10 The kings of Tarshish and the islands will offer gifts. The kings of Arabia and of Seba will bring gifts.
Die Könige von Tarsis und den Inseln werden Geschenke entrichten, die Könige von Saba und Seba Tribut herzubringen.
11 And all the kings of the earth shall adore him. All nations will serve him.
Und alle Könige werden sich vor ihm niederwerfen, alle Völker ihm dienen.
12 For he will free the poor from the powerful, and the poor one who has no helper.
Denn er rettet den Armen, der um Hilfe schreit, und den Elenden und den, der keinen Helfer hat.
13 He will spare the poor and the indigent, and he will bring salvation to the souls of the poor.
Er erbarmt sich des Geringen und Armen und den Seelen der Armen hilft er.
14 He will redeem their souls from usuries and from iniquity, and their names shall be honorable in his sight.
Aus Bedrückung und Gewaltthat erlöst er ihre Seele, und kostbar ist ihr Blut in seinen Augen.
15 And he will live, and to him will be given from the gold of Arabia, and by him they will always adore. They will bless him all day long.
Und er wird leben, und man wird ihm vom Golde Sabas geben; man wird beständig für ihn beten, allezeit wird man ihn segnen.
16 And there will be a firmament on earth, at the summits of mountains: its fruits will be extolled above Lebanon, and those of the city will flourish like the grass of the earth.
Es wird Überfluß von Korn im Lande sein, auf dem Gipfel der Berge; seine Frucht wird rauschen, wie der Libanon, und aus der Stadt werden sie hervorblühn, wie die Pflanzen aus der Erde.
17 May his name be blessed forever; may his name remain before the sun. And all the tribes of the earth will be blessed in him. All nations will magnify him.
Sein Name wird ewig währen; im Angesichte der Sonne wird sein Name sprossen. Mit ihm werden sich alle Geschlechter der Erde einander Segen wünschen, alle Völker werden ihn glücklich preisen.
18 Blessed is the Lord, God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things.
Gepriesen sei Jahwe Gott, der Gott Israels, der allein Wunder thut,
19 And blessed is the name of his majesty in eternity. And all the earth will be filled with his majesty. Amen. Amen.
und gepriesen sei sein herrlicher Name in Ewigkeit, und alle Lande müssen erfüllt werden von seiner Herrlichkeit! Amen, Amen!
20 The praises of David, the son of Jesse, have reached an end.
Zu Ende sind die Gebete Davids, des Sohnes Isais.
