Psalms 54

1 Unto the end. In verses, the understanding of David, when the Ziphites had arrived and they said to Saul, “Has not David been hidden with us?” Save me, O God, by your name, and judge me in your virtue.

Lorsque les Ziphiens vinrent dire à Saül: David n'est-il pas caché parmi nous? O Dieu, sauve-moi par ton nom, et fais-moi justice par ta puissance!

2 O God, listen to my prayer. Pay attention to the words of my mouth.

O Dieu, écoute ma prière, prête l'oreille aux paroles de ma bouche!

3 For strangers have risen up against me, and the strong have sought my soul. And they have not set God before their eyes.

Car des étrangers se sont élevés contre moi, et des hommes violents cherchent ma vie; ils n'ont point mis Dieu devant leurs yeux. (Sélah, pause)

4 For behold, God is my helper, and the Lord is the protector of my soul.

Voici, Dieu est mon aide, le Seigneur est parmi ceux

5 Turn back the evils upon my adversaries, and ruin them by your truth.

Il fera retomber le mal sur mes ennemis. Selon ta fidélité, détruis-les.

6 I will freely sacrifice to you, and I will confess your name, O God, because it is good.

Je t'offrirai des sacrifices volontaires. Je célébrerai ton nom, ô Éternel! car il est bon.

7 For you have quickly rescued me from all tribulation, and my eye has looked down upon my enemies.

Car il m'a délivré de toutes mes détresses, et mon œil a contemplé avec joie mes ennemis.
