Psalms 115
1 Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory.
主よ、栄光をわれらにではなく、われらにではなく、あなたのいつくしみと、まこととのゆえに、ただ、み名にのみ帰してください。
2 Give glory to your mercy and your truth, lest the Gentiles should say, “Where is their God?”
なにゆえ、もろもろの国民は言うのでしょう、「彼らの神はどこにいるのか」と。
3 But our God is in heaven. All things whatsoever that he has willed, he has done.
われらの神は天にいらせられる。神はみこころにかなうすべての事を行われる。
4 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the works of the hands of men.
彼らの偶像はしろがねと、こがねで、人の手のわざである。
5 They have mouths, and do not speak; they have eyes, and do not see.
それは口があっても語ることができない。目があっても見ることができない。
6 They have ears, and do not hear; they have noses, and do not smell.
耳があっても聞くことができない。鼻があってもかぐことができない。
7 They have hands, and do not feel; they have feet, and do not walk. Neither will they cry out with their throat.
手があっても取ることができない。足があっても歩くことができない。また、のどから声を出すこともできない。
8 Let those who make them become like them, along with all who trust in them.
これを造る者と、これに信頼する者とはみな、これと等しい者になる。
9 The house of Israel has hoped in the Lord. He is their helper and their protector.
イスラエルよ、主に信頼せよ。主は彼らの助け、また彼らの盾である。
10 The house of Aaron has hoped in the Lord. He is their helper and their protector.
アロンの家よ、主に信頼せよ。主は彼らの助け、また彼らの盾である。
11 Those who fear the Lord have hoped in the Lord. He is their helper and their protector.
主を恐れる者よ、主に信頼せよ。主は彼らの助け、また彼らの盾である。
12 The Lord has been mindful of us, and he has blessed us. He has blessed the house of Israel. He has blessed the house of Aaron.
主はわれらをみこころにとめられた。主はわれらを恵み、イスラエルの家を恵み、アロンの家を恵み、
13 He has blessed all who fear the Lord, the small with the great.
また、小さい者も、大いなる者も、主を恐れる者を恵まれる。
14 May the Lord add blessings upon you: upon you, and upon your sons.
どうか、主があなたがたを増し加え、あなたがたと、あなたがたの子孫とを増し加えられるように。
15 Blessed are you by the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
天地を造られた主によってあなたがたが恵まれるように。
16 The heaven of heaven is for the Lord, but the earth he has given to the sons of men.
天は主の天である。しかし地は人の子らに与えられた。
17 The dead will not praise you, Lord, and neither will all those who descend into Hell. (questioned)
死んだ者も、音なき所に下る者も、主をほめたたえることはない。
18 But we who live will bless the Lord, from this time forward, and even forever.
しかし、われらは今より、とこしえに至るまで、主をほめまつるであろう。主をほめたたえよ。
