2 Kings 14
1 In the second year of Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the king of Israel: Amaziah, the son of Jehoash, reigned as king of Judah.
௧இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாகாசின் மகனாகிய யோவாசுடைய இரண்டாம் வருட ஆட்சியில் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாசின் மகன் அமத்சியா ராஜாவானான்.
2 He was twenty-five years old when he had begun to reign. And he reigned for twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Jehoaddin from Jerusalem.
௨அவன் ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்தைந்து வயதாயிருந்து, எருசலேமிலே இருபத்தொன்பது வருடங்கள் அரசாட்சி செய்தான்; எருசலேம் நகரத்தைச் சேர்ந்த அவனுடைய தாயின் பெயர் யொவதானாள்.
3 And he did what is right before the Lord, yet truly, not like David, his father. He acted in accord with all the things that his father Jehoash did,
௩அவன் யெகோவாவின் பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையானதைச் செய்தான்; ஆனாலும் தன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதைப்போல் அல்ல; தன் தகப்பனாகிய யோவாஸ் செய்தபடியெல்லாம் செய்தான்.
4 except for this alone: he did not take away the high places. For still the people were immolating, and burning incense, in the high places.
௪மேடைகள் மாத்திரம் அகற்றப்படவில்லை; மக்கள் இன்னும் மேடைகளின்மேல் பலியிட்டுத் தூபம்காட்டி வந்தார்கள்.
5 And when he had obtained the kingdom, he struck down those of his servants who had killed his father, the king.
௫அரசாட்சி அவன் கையிலே உறுதிப்பட்டபோது, அவனுடைய தகப்பனாகிய ராஜாவைக் கொன்றுபோட்ட தன் வேலைக்காரர்களைக் கொன்றுபோட்டான்.
6 But the sons of those who had been killed he did not put to death, in accord with what was written in the book of the law of Moses, just as the Lord instructed, saying: “The fathers shall not die for the sons, and the sons shall not die for the fathers. Instead, each one shall die for his own sin.”
௬ஆனாலும் பிள்ளைகளினாலே தகப்பன்களும், தகப்பன்களினாலே பிள்ளைகளும் கொலை செய்யப்படாமலும், அவனவன் செய்த பாவத்தினாலே அவனவன் கொலை செய்யப்படவேண்டும் என்று மோசேயின் நியாயப்பிரமாண புத்தகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறபடி, யெகோவா கட்டளையிட்ட பிரகாரம் கொலைசெய்தவர்களின் பிள்ளைகளை அவன் கொல்லவில்லை.
7 He struck down ten thousand men of Idumea, in the Valley of the Salt Pits. And he captured ‘the Rock’ in battle, and he called its name ‘Subdued by God,’ even to the present day.
௭அவன் உப்புப்பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே ஏதோமியர்களில் பத்தாயிரம்பேரைக் கொன்று, போர்செய்து சேலாவைப் பிடித்து, அதற்கு இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் இருக்கிற யொக்தியேல் என்னும் பெயர் வைத்தான்.
8 Then Amaziah sent messengers to Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, the king of Israel, saying: “Come, and let us see one another.”
௮அப்பொழுது அமத்சியா யெகூவின் மகனாகிய யோவாகாசின் மகன் யோவாஸ் என்னும் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவிடத்தில் பிரதிநிதிகளை அனுப்பி: நம்முடைய திறமையைப் பார்ப்போம் வா என்று சொல்லச் சொன்னான்.
9 And Joash, the king of Israel, sent a reply to Amaziah, the king of Judah, saying: “A thistle of Lebanon sent to a cedar, which is in Lebanon, saying: ‘Give your daughter as wife to my son.’ And the beasts of the forest, which are in Lebanon, passed by and trampled the thistle.
௯அதற்கு இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாஸ் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய அமத்சியாவுக்கு ஆள் அனுப்பி: லீபனோனிலுள்ள முட்செடியானது, லீபனோனிலுள்ள கேதுருமரத்தை நோக்கி, நீ உன் மகளை என் மகனுக்கு மனைவியாக திருமணம் செய்துகொடு என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னது; ஆனாலும் லீபனோனிலுள்ள ஒரு காட்டுமிருகம் அந்த வழியே ஓடும்போது அந்த முட்செடியை மிதித்துப்போட்டது.
10 You have struck and prevailed over Idumea. And your heart has lifted you up. Be content with your own glory, and be seated in your own house. Why would you provoke evil, so that you would fall, and Judah with you?”
௧0நீ ஏதோமியர்களை முறியடித்ததால் உன் இருதயம் உன்னைக் கர்வமடையச்செய்தது; நீ பெருமை பாராட்டிக்கொண்டு உன் வீட்டிலே இரு; நீயும் உன்னோடேகூட யூதாவும் விழும்படி, பொல்லாப்பை ஏன் வருவித்துக்கொள்ளவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னான்.
11 But Amaziah was not quieted. And so Joash, the king of Israel, went up. And he and Amaziah, the king of Judah, saw one another at Beth-shemesh, a town in Judah.
௧௧ஆனாலும் அமத்சியா கேட்காமல்போனான்; ஆகையால், இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாஸ் வந்தான்; யூதாவிலுள்ள பெத்ஷிமேசிலே அவனும், யூதாவின் ராஜா அமத்சியாவும், தங்கள் திறமையைப் பார்க்கிறபோது,
12 And Judah was struck down before Israel, and they fled, each to their own tents.
௧௨யூதா மக்கள் இஸ்ரவேலருக்கு முன்பாகத் தோற்று அவரவர் தங்கள் கூடாரங்களுக்கு ஓடிப்போனார்கள்.
13 And truly, Joash, the king of Israel, captured Amaziah, the king of Judah, the son of Jehoash, the son of Ahaziah, at Beth-shemesh. And he brought him to Jerusalem. And he breached the wall of Jerusalem, from the gate of Ephraim as far as the gate of the Corner, four hundred cubits.
௧௩அகசியாவின் மகனாகிய யோவாசின் மகன் அமத்சியா என்னும் யூதாவின் ராஜாவையோ, இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாஸ் பெத்ஷிமேசிலே பிடித்து, எருசலேமுக்கு வந்து, எருசலேமின் மதிலிலே எப்பிராயீம் வாசல் தொடங்கி மூலைவாசல்வரை நானூறு முழ நீளம் இடித்துப்போட்டு,
14 And he took away all the gold and silver, and all the vessels, which were found in the house of the Lord and in the treasuries of the king, and he returned to Samaria with hostages.
௧௪யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்திலும் ராஜாவுடைய அரண்மனைப் பொக்கிஷங்களிலும் கிடைத்த பொன் வெள்ளி அனைத்தையும், சகல பணிமுட்டுகளையும், பிணைக்கைதிகளையும் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு சமாரியாவுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போனான்.
15 But the rest of the words of Joash, which he accomplished, and his strength, with which he fought against Amaziah, the king of Judah, have these not been written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?
௧௫யோவாஸ் செய்த மற்ற செயல்பாடுகளும், அவனுடைய வல்லமையும், அவன் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய அமத்சியாவோடு போர்செய்த விதமும், இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
16 And Joash slept with his fathers, and he was buried in Samaria, with the kings of Israel. And Jeroboam, his son, reigned in his place.
௧௬யோவாஸ் இறந்தபின், சமாரியாவில் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாக்களின் அருகில் அடக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டான்; அவன் மகனாகிய யெரொபெயாம் அவனுடைய இடத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.
17 Now Amaziah, the son of Jehoash, the king of Judah, lived for fifteen years after the death of Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the king of Israel.
௧௭இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாகாசின் மகன் யோவாஸ் மரணமடைந்தபின், யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாசின் மகன் அமத்சியா பதினைந்துவருடங்கள் உயிரோடிருந்தான்.
18 And the rest of the words of Amaziah, have these not been written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Judah?
௧௮அமத்சியாவின் மற்ற செயல்பாடுகள் யூதாவுடைய ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
19 And they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem. And he fled to Lachish. And they sent after him, to Lachish, and they killed him there.
௧௯எருசலேமிலே அவனுக்கு விரோதமாக சதித்திட்டம் தீட்டினார்கள்; அப்பொழுது லாகீசுக்கு ஓடிப்போனான்; ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் அவன் பின்னே லாகீசுக்கு மனிதர்களை அனுப்பி, அங்கே அவனைக் கொன்றுபோட்டு,
20 And they carried him away on horses. And he was buried in Jerusalem with his fathers, in the city of David.
௨0குதிரைகள்மேல் அவனை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு வந்தார்கள்; அவன் எருசலேமில் இருக்கிற தாவீதின் நகரத்திலே தன் முன்னோர்களுக்கு அருகில் அடக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டான்.
21 Then all the people of Judah took Azariah, at sixteen years from birth, and they appointed him as king in place of his father, Amaziah.
௨௧யூதா மக்கள் யாவரும் பதினாறு வயதுள்ள அசரியாவை அழைத்துவந்து அவனை அவனுடைய தகப்பனாகிய அமத்சியாவின் இடத்தில் ராஜாவாக்கினார்கள்.
22 He built up Elath, and he restored it to Judah, after which the king slept with his fathers.
௨௨ராஜா இறந்தபின்பு, இவன் ஏலாத்தைக் கட்டி, அதைத் திரும்ப யூதாவின் வசமாக்கிக்கொண்டான்.
23 In the fifteenth year of Amaziah, the son of Jehoash, the king of Judah: Jeroboam, the son of Joash, the king of Israel, reigned, in Samaria, for forty-one years.
௨௩யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாசின் மகன் அமத்சியாவின் பதினைந்தாம் வருடத்தில், இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாசின் மகன் யெரொபெயாம் ராஜாவாகி சமாரியாவில் நாற்பத்தொரு வருடங்கள் ஆட்சிசெய்து,
24 And he did what is evil before the Lord. He did not withdraw from all the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin.
௨௪யெகோவாவின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்; இஸ்ரவேலைப் பாவம்செய்யவைத்த நேபாத்தின் மகனாகிய யெரொபெயாமின் பாவங்கள் ஒன்றையும் அவன் விட்டுவிலகவில்லை.
25 He restored the borders of Israel, from the entrance of Hamath as far as the Sea of the Wilderness, in accord with the word of the Lord, the God of Israel, which he spoke through his servant, the prophet Jonah, the son of Amittai, who was from Gath, which is in Hepher.
௨௫காத்தேப்பேர் ஊரானாகிய அமித்தாய் என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசியின் மகன் யோனா என்னும் தம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரனைக்கொண்டு இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா சொல்லியிருந்த வார்த்தையின்படியே, அவன் ஆமாத்தின் எல்லை முதற்கொண்டு சமபூமியின் கடல்வரை உள்ள இஸ்ரவேலின் எல்லைகளைத் திரும்பச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டான்.
26 For the Lord saw the exceedingly bitter affliction of Israel, and that they were being consumed, even to those who were enclosed in prison, and even to the least ones, and that there was no one who would help Israel.
௨௬இஸ்ரவேலின் உபத்திரவம் மிகவும் கொடியது என்றும், அடைபட்டவனுமில்லை, விடுபட்டவனுமில்லை, இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு ஒத்தாசை செய்கிறவனுமில்லை என்றும் யெகோவா பார்த்தார்.
27 But the Lord did not say that he would wipe away the name of Israel from under heaven. So instead, he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam, the son of Joash.
௨௭இஸ்ரவேலின் பெயரை வானத்தின் கீழிருந்து அழித்துப்போடுவேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லாமல், யோவாசின் மகனாகிய யெரொபெயாமின் கையால் அவர்களை இரட்சித்தார்.
28 But the rest of the words of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his strength, with which he went to battle, and the manner in which he restored Damascus and Hamath to Judah, in Israel, have these not been written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?
௨௮யெரொபெயாமின் மற்ற செயல்பாடுகளும், அவன் செய்த யாவும், அவன் போர்செய்து, யூதாவுக்கு இருந்த தமஸ்குவையும் ஆமாத்தையும் இஸ்ரவேலுக்காகத் திரும்பச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்ட அவனுடைய வல்லமையும், இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
29 And Jeroboam slept with his fathers, the kings of Israel. And Zechariah, his son, reigned in his place.
௨௯யெரொபெயாம் இறந்தபின், அவன் மகனாகிய சகரியா அவனுடைய இடத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.
