< 1 Kings 1 >

1 Now king David had become elderly, and he had many days in his lifetime. And though he was covered with clothes, he was not warmed.
Ary Davida mpanjaka dia efa zoki-olona sady nandroso fahanterana; ary norakofany lamba izy, fa tsy nety nafana.
2 Therefore, his servants said to him: “Let us seek, for our lord the king, a young virgin. And let her stand before the king, and warm him, and sleep in his bosom, and provide warmth for our lord the king.”
Ka dia hoy ny mpanompony taminy: Aoka hitadiavana zazavavy virijina ny mpanjaka tompoko, dia aoka hitoetra eto anatrehan’ ny mpanjaka izy mba ho mpitaiza azy, ary aoka handry eo amin’ ny tratranao izy, ka dia hampahafana ny mpanjaka tompoko.
3 And so they sought a beautiful young woman in all the parts of Israel. And they found Abishag, a Shunammite, and they led her to the king.
Ary dia nitady zazavavy tsara tarehy eran’ ny tanin’ ny Isiraely rehetra izy ka nahita an’ i Abisaga Sonemita, dia nentiny tany amin’ ny mpanjaka.
4 Now the girl was exceedingly beautiful. And she slept with the king, and she ministered to him. Yet truly, the king did not know her.
Ary tsara tarehy dia tsara tarehy razazavavy, dia tonga mpitaiza ny mpanjaka sady nanompo azy izy; nefa ny mpanjaka tsy nahalala azy.
5 Then Adonijah, the son of Haggith, exalted himself, saying, “I shall reign!” And he appointed for himself chariots and horsemen, with fifty men who would run before him.
Ary Adonia, zanakalahin’ i Hagita, nanandratra ny tenany ka nanao hoe: Izaho no hanjaka; dia nanomana kalesy sy mpitaingin-tsoavaly ary dimam-polo lahy ho mpihazakazaka eo alohany izy.
6 Neither did his father chastise him at any time, saying, “Why have you done this?” Now he, too, was very beautiful, the second in birth, after Absalom.
Ary ny rainy tsy mbola niteny mafy azy atory hatrizay niainany nanao hoe: Nahoana ianao no manao toy izao? sady lehilahy tsara tarehy tokoa izy; ary izy no na tera-dreniny nanarakaraka an’ i Absaloma.
7 And he conferred with Joab, the son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar, the priest, who gave assistance to the side of Adonijah.
Ary efa niresaka tamin’ i Joaba, zanak’ i Zeroia, sy Abiatara mpisorona izy; ka dia niandany tamin’ i Adonia izy roa lahy ka nanampy azy.
8 Yet truly, Zadok, the priest, and Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, and Nathan, the prophet, and Shimei and Rei, and the mature men of the army of David were not with Adonijah.
Fa Zadoka mpisorona sy Benaia, zanak’ i Joiada, sy Natana mpaminany sy Simey sy Rey ary ny lehilahy mahery izay an’ i Davida kosa tsy mba niandany tamin’ i Adonia.
9 Then Adonijah, having immolated rams and calves and every kind of fat cattle beside the Stone of the Serpent, which was in the vicinity of the fountain Rogel, summoned all his brothers, the sons of the king, and all the men of Judah, the servants of the king.
Ary Adonia namono ondry aman’ osy sy omby ary zanak’ omby mifahy teo anilan’ ny vato Zoheleta tanilan’ i En-rogela ka nanasa ny rahalahiny zanakalahin’ ny mpanjaka rehetra sy ny lehilahy rehetra amin’ ny Joda, mpanompon’ ny mpanjaka;
10 But he did not summon Nathan, the prophet, and Benaiah, and all the mature men, and Solomon, his brother.
fa Natana mpaminany sy Benaia sy ny lehilahy mahery ary Solomona rahalahiny no tsy mba nasainy.
11 And so Nathan said to Bathsheba, the mother of Solomon: “Have you not heard that Adonijah, the son of Haggith, has begun to reign, and that our lord David is ignorant of this?
Ary Natana niteny tamin’ i Batseba, renin’ i Solomona, hoe: Moa tsy renao va fa efa manjaka Adonia, zanak’ i Hagita, nefa tsy fantatr’ i Davida tompontsika akory izany?
12 Now then, come, accept my counsel, and save your life and the life of your son Solomon.
Koa etsy homeko saina ianao hamonjenao ny ainao sy ny ain’ i Solomona zanakao.
13 Go and enter to king David, and say to him: ‘Did you not, my lord the king, swear to me, your handmaid, saying: “Your son Solomon shall reign after me, and he himself shall sit on my throne?” Then why does Adonijah reign?’
Mandehana mankany amin’ i Davida mpanjaka, ka lazao aminy hoe: Tsy nianiana tamiko mpanompovavinao va ianao, ry mpanjaka tompoko, nanao hoe: Solomona zanakao-lahy no hanjaka handimby ahy tokoa, ary izy no hipetraka eo amin’ ny seza fiandrianako? Koa nahoana indray no Adonia no manjaka?
14 And while you are still speaking with the king there, I will enter after you, and I will complete your words.”
Ary raha mbola miteny amin’ ny mpanjaka ianao, dia, indro, izaho koa hiditra manaraka anao ka hanamarina ny teninao.
15 And so Bathsheba entered to the king in the bedroom. Now the king was very old, and Abishag, the Shunammite, was ministering to him.
Ary Batseba dia nankao amin’ ny mpanjaka tao amin’ ny efi-trano nitoerany; ary efa antitra ny mpanjaka; ary Abisaga Sonemita nanompo azy.
16 Bathsheba bowed herself, and she reverenced the king. And the king said to her, “What do you wish?”
Dia niondrika Batseba ka niankohoka teo anatrehan’ ny mpanjaka. Ary hoy ny mpanjaka: Inona no ilainao?
17 And responding, she said: “My lord, you swore to your handmaid, by the Lord your God: ‘your son Solomon will reign after me, and he himself shall sit upon my throne.’
Dia hoy izy taminy: Tompokolahy ô, Jehovah Andriamanitrao no nianiananao tamiko mpanompovavinao hoe: Solomona zanakaolahy no hanjaka handimby ahy tokoa, ary izy no hipetraka eo amin’ ny seza fiandrianako.
18 And now behold, Adonijah reigns, while you, my lord the king, are ignorant of it.
Kanjo izao dia, indro, Adonia no manjaka; kanefa tsy fantatrao izany, ry mpanjaka tompoko.
19 He has slain oxen, and every kind of fattened cattle, and many rams. And he has summoned all the sons of the king, as well as Abiathar, the priest, and Joab, the leader of the military. But Solomon, your servant, he did not summon.
Ary efa namono omby sy zanak’ omby mifahy ary ondry aman’ osy betsaka izy ka efa nanasa ny zanakalahin’ ny mpanjaka rehetra sy Abiatara mpisorona ary Joaba, komandin’ ny miaramila; fa Solomona mpanomponao ihany no tsy mba nasainy.
20 Truly now, my lord the king, the eyes of all of Israel look with favor upon you, that you may indicate to them who ought to sit upon your throne, my lord the king, after you.
Ary ianao, ry mpanjaka tompoko ô, ny mason’ ny Isiraely rehetra manandratra anao hilazanao izay hipetraka eo amin’ ny seza fiandriananao mpanjaka tompoko handimby anao.
21 Otherwise, this will be: when my lord the king sleeps with his fathers, I and my son Solomon will be as sinners.”
Fa rehefa lasa modi-mandry any amin’ ny razany ny mpanjaka tompoko, dia izaho sy Solomona zanako no atao meloka.
22 And while she was still speaking with the king, Nathan, the prophet, arrived.
Ary raha mbola niteny tamin’ ny mpanjaka ravehivavy, dia, indro, niditra koa Natana mpaminany.
23 And they announced to the king, saying, “Nathan, the prophet, is here.” And when he had entered in the sight of the king, and he had reverenced prone on the ground,
Ary nisy nanambara amin’ ny mpanjaka hoe: Indro Natana mpaminany. Dia niditra teo anatrehan’ ny mpanjaka izy ka niankohoka tamin’ ny tany teo anatrehany.
24 Nathan said: “My lord the king, did you say, ‘Let Adonijah reign after me, and let him sit upon my throne?’
Ary hoy Natana: Ry mpanjaka tompoko ô, fa angaha ianao efa niteny hoe: Adonia no hanjaka handimby ahy, ary izy no hipetraka eo amin’ ny seza fiandrianako.
25 For today, he descended, and he immolated oxen, and fattened cattle, and many rams. And he summoned all the sons of the king, and the leaders of the army, along with Abiathar, the priest. And they are eating and drinking before him, and saying, ‘As king Adonijah lives.’
Fa he! izy nidina androany ary namono omby sy zanak’ omby mifahy sy ondry aman’ osy betsaka ka nanasa ny zanakalahin’ ny mpanjaka rehetra sy ny komandin’ ny miaramila sy Abiatara mpisorona; ary indreo izy mihinana ny misotro eo anatrehany ka manao hoe: Ho ela velona anie Adonia mpanjaka!
26 But he did not summon me, your servant, and Zadok, the priest, and Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, and Solomon, your lowly servant.
Fa izaho mpanomponao sy Zadoka mpisorona sy Benaia, zanak’ i Joiada, ary Solomona mpanomponao ihany no tsy mba nasainy.
27 Could this word have gone out from my lord the king, and could you not have revealed it to me, your servant, as to who would be seated upon the throne of my lord the king after him?”
Moa avy tamin’ ny mpanjaka tompoko va no nahatonga izany zavatra izany, ka tsy mba nampahafantarinao ny mpanomponao izay hipetraka eo amin’ ny seza fiandriananao mpanjaka tompoko handimby anao?
28 And king David responded, saying, “Summon to me Bathsheba.” And when she had entered before the king, and she had stood before him,
Ary namaly Davida mpanjaka ka nanao hoe: Antsoy hankatỳ amiko Batseba. Dia niditra nankeo anatrehan’ ny mpanjaka izy ka nitsangana teo anatrehany
29 the king swore and said: “As the Lord lives, who has rescued my soul from all distress,
Ary ny mpanjaka nianiana hoe: Raha velona koa Jehovah, Izay namonjy ny aiko tamin’ ny fahoriana rehetra,
30 just as I swore to you by the Lord God of Israel, saying: ‘Your son Solomon shall reign after me, and he himself shall sit upon my throne in my place,’ so shall I do this day.”
dia tahaka ilay nianianako tamin’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely, sady nilazako taminao hoe: Solomona zanakaolahy no hanjaka handimby ahy tokoa, ary izy no hipetraka eo amin’ ny seza fiandrianako hisolo ahy, dia izany ihany no hataoko anio.
31 And Bathsheba, having lowered her face to the ground, reverenced the king, saying, “May my lord David live forever.”
Ary Batseba niondrika, dia niankohoka tamin’ ny tany teo anatrehan’ ny mpanjaka ka nanao hoe: Ho velona mandrakizay anio Davida mpanjaka tompoko!
32 And king David said, “Summon to me Zadok, the priest, and Nathan, the prophet, and Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada.” And when they had entered before the king,
Ary hoy Davida mpanjaka: Antsoy hankatỳ amiko Zadoka mpisorona sy Natana mpaminany ary Benaia, zanak’ i Joiada. Dia niditra nankeo anatrehan’ ny mpanjaka izy telo lahy.
33 he said to them: “Take with you the servants of your lord, and place my son Solomon upon my mule. And lead him to Gihon.
Ary hoy ny mpanjaka taminy: Ento miaraka aminareo ny mpanompon’ ny tomponareo, ary ampitaingeno ny ampondravaviko Solomona zanakolahy, ka ento midìna any Gihona izy.
34 And let Zadok, the priest, and Nathan, the prophet, anoint him in that place as the king over Israel. And you shall sound the trumpet, and you shall say, ‘As king Solomon lives.’
Ary aoka Zadoka mpisorona sy Natana mpaminany hanosotra azy any ho mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely; ary tsofinareo ny anjomara, ka lazao hoe: Ho ela velona anie Solomona mpanjaka!
35 And you shall ascend after him, and he shall arrive and shall sit upon my throne. And he himself shall reign in my place. And I will command that he be the ruler over Israel and over Judah.”
Dia miakara manaraka azy ianareo, ary aoka izy hiditra ka hipetraka eo amin’ ny seza fiandrianako; fa izy no ho mpanjaka hisolo ahy, satria izy no voatendriko ho mpanapaka ny Isiraely sy ny Joda.
36 And Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, responded to the king, saying: “Amen. So says the Lord, the God of my lord the king.
Ary Benaja, zanak’ i Joiada, namaly ny mpanjaka hoe: Amena! Hiteny tahaka izany koa anie Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny mpanjaka tompoko.
37 In the same way that the Lord has been with my lord the king, so may he be with Solomon. And may he make his throne more sublime than the throne of my lord, king David.”
Toy ny nomban’ i Jehovah ny mpanjaka tompoko anie no mba hombany an’ i Solomona koa, ary hataony be voninahitra mihoatra noho ny seza fiandrianan’ i Davida mpanjaka tompoko anie ny seza fiandrianan’ i Solomona.
38 Then Zadok, the priest, and Nathan, the prophet, descended, with Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and Pelethites. And they placed Solomon on the mule of king David, and they led him to Gihon.
Dia nidina Zadoka mpisorona sy Natana mpaminany sy Renaia, zanak’ i Joiada, ary ny miaramila mpiambina andriana, dia nampitaingina an’ i Solomona ny ampondravavin’ i Davida mpanjaka izy, ka dia nitondra azy nankany Gihona.
39 And Zadok, the priest, took the horn of oil from the tabernacle, and he anointed Solomon. And they sounded the trumpet. And all the people said, “As king Solomon lives.”
Ary Zadoka mpisorona naka ny tandroka misy diloilo tao amin’ ny trano-lay ka nanosotra an’ i Solomona. Ary notsofina ny anjomara, ka dia hoy ny vahoaka rehetra: Ho ela velona anie Solomona mpanjaka!
40 And the entire multitude ascended after him. And the people were playing on pipes, and rejoicing with great joy. And the earth resounded before the noise of them.
Dia niakatra nanaraka azy ny vahoaka rehetra ary nitsoka sodina sady nifaly dia nifaly, ka dia nihorohoro ny tany noho ny feony.
41 Then Adonijah, and all who had been summoned by him, heard it. And now the feast had ended. Then, too, Joab, hearing the voice of the trumpet, said, “What is the meaning of this clamor from the tumultuous city?”
Ary Adonia sy ireo olona rehetra izay nasaina teo aminy nandre izany, rehefa nitsahatra nihinana izy. Ka raha nahare ny feon’ ny anjomara Joaba, dia hoy izy: Inona re izany hotakotaka mampitabataba ny tanàna izany e?
42 While he was still speaking, Jonathan, the son of Abiathar the priest, arrived. And Adonijah said to him, “Enter, for you are a valiant man, and you report good news.”
Fa raha mbola niteny izy, indro, tonga Jonatana, zanak’ i Abiatara mpisorona; ary hoy Adonia taminy: Mandrosoa; fa lehilahy tsara fanahy ianao, ka ho teny tsara no entinao.
43 And Jonathan answered Adonijah: “By no means. For our lord king David has appointed Solomon as king.
Fa Jonatana niteny ka nanao tamin’ i Adonia hoe: Tsia, tsy izany tsy akory, fa Davida mpanjaka tompontsika efa nanangana an’ i Solomona tokoa ho mpanjaka.
44 And he has sent with him Zadok, the priest, and Nathan, the prophet, and Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and Pelethites. And they have placed him on the mule of the king.
Ary ny mpanjaka efa naniraka an’ i Zadoka mpisorona sy Natana mpaminany sy Benaia, zanak’ i Joiada, ary ny miaramila mpiambina andriana hiaraka aminy, ka nampitaingenin’ ireo ny ampondravavin’ ny mpanjaka izy.
45 And Zadok, the priest, and Nathan, the prophet, have anointed him king, at Gihon. And they are ascending from there, rejoicing, and so the city resounds. This is the noise that you have heard.
Ary Zadoka mpisorona sy Natana mpaminany efa nanosotra azy teo Gihona ho mpanjaka; ary niakatra avy teo izy sady nifaly, ka dia nihorika terỳ ny tanàna. Izany no hotakotaka renareo.
46 But also, Solomon sits upon the throne of the kingdom.
Ary koa, Solomona izao dia efa mipetraka eo amin’ ny seza fiandrianan’ ny fanjakana.
47 And the servants of the king, entering, have blessed our lord king David, saying: ‘May God amplify the name of Solomon above your name, and may he magnify his throne above your throne.’ And the king reverenced from his bed.
Ary dia tonga koa ny mpanompon’ ny mpanjaka hisaotra an’ i Davida mpanjaka tompontsika hoe: Hataon’ Andriamanitrao ho tsara noho ny anaranao anie ny anaran’ i Solomona, ary hataony ho be voninahitra mihoatra noho ny seza fiandriananao anie ny seza fiandrianany! Dia niankohoka teo am-parafara ny mpanjaka
48 And he said: ‘Blessed is the Lord, the God of Israel, who today has bestowed someone to sit upon my throne, while my eyes may see it.’”
ka niteny hoe: Isaorana anie Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely Izay nanome ny hipetraka eo amin’ ny seza fiandrianako androany, sady hitan’ ny masoko koa izany.
49 Therefore, all those who had been summoned by Adonijah were terrified. And they all rose up, and each one went his own way.
Dia raiki-tahotra izay rehetra nasain’ i Adonia ka niainga, ary samy lasa nandeha amin’ izay nalehany avy izy rehetra.
50 Then Adonijah, fearing Solomon, rose up and went away. And he took hold of the horn of the altar.
Ary Adonia koa natahotra an’ i Solomona, dia niainga ka lasa nangia ny tandroky ny alitara.
51 And they reported to Solomon, saying: “Behold, Adonijah, fearing king Solomon, has taken hold of the horn of the altar, saying: ‘May king Solomon swear to me this day that he will not put to death his servant with the sword.’”
Ary nambara tamin’ i Solomona hoe: Indro, Adonia matahotra an’ i Solomona mpanjaka; koa indro izy efa mangia ny tandroky ny alitara ka manao hoe: Aoka Solomone mpanjaka hianiana amiko aloha fa tsy hamono ahy mpanompony amin’ ny sabatra.
52 And Solomon said: “If he is a good man, not so much as one hair of his head shall fall to the ground. But if evil is found in him, he shall die.”
Fa hoy Solomona: Raha hita fa lehilahy tsara fanahy izy, dia tsy hisy na dia singam-bolony iray akory aza ho latsaka amin’ ny tany; fa raha misy heloka kosa ho hita aminy, dia ho faty ihany izy.
53 Therefore, king Solomon sent and brought him from the altar. And entering, he reverenced king Solomon. And Solomon said to him, “Go to your own house.”
Dia naniraka Solomona mpanjaka nampidina azy hiala amin’ ny alitara. Dia avy izy ka niankohoka teo anatrehan’ i Solomona mpanjaka; ary dia hoy Solomona taminy: Modia any an-tranonao.
