Joshua 10
1 And when Adoni-bezec king of Jerusalem heard that Joshua had taken Gai, and had destroyed it, as he did to Jericho and its king, even so they did to Gai and its king, and that the inhabitants of Gabaon had gone over to Joshua and Israel;
Kiam Adoni-Cedek, reĝo de Jerusalem, aŭdis, ke Josuo prenis Ajon kaj ekstermis ĝin; ke kiel li agis kun Jeriĥo kaj kun ĝia reĝo, tiel li agis kun Aj kaj kun ĝia reĝo; kaj ke la loĝantoj de Gibeon faris pacon kun Izrael kaj restis inter ili:
2 then they were greatly terrified by them, for [the king] knew that Gabaon [was] a great city, as one of the chief cities, and all its men [were] mighty.
tiam ili tre ektimis; ĉar Gibeon estis urbo granda, kiel unu el la reĝaj urboj, kaj ĝi estis pli granda ol Aj, kaj ĉiuj ĝiaj loĝantoj estis homoj fortaj.
3 So Adoni-bezec king of Jerusalem sent to Elam king of Hebron, and to Phidon king of Jerimuth, and to Jephtha king of Lachis, and to Dabin king of Odollam, saying,
Kaj Adoni-Cedek, reĝo de Jerusalem, sendis al Hoham, reĝo de Ĥebron, kaj al Piram, reĝo de Jarmut, kaj al Jafia, rego de Laĥiŝ, kaj al Debir, reĝo de Eglon, por diri:
4 Come up hither to me, and help me, and let us take Gabaon; for the Gabaonites have gone over to Joshua and to the children of Israel.
Venu al mi kaj helpu min, ke ni venkobatu Gibeonon pro tio, ke ĝi faris pacon kun Josuo kaj kun la Izraelidoj.
5 And the five kings of the Jebusites went up, the king of Jerusalem, and the king of Chebron, and the king of Jerimuth, and the king of Lachis, and the king of Odollam, they and all their people; and encamped around Gabaon, and besieged it.
Kaj kuniĝis kaj iris la kvin reĝoj de la Amoridoj, la reĝo de Jerusalem, la reĝo de Ĥebron, la reĝo de Jarmut, la reĝo de Laĥiŝ, la reĝo de Eglon, ili kaj ilia tuta militistaro; kaj ili starigis tendarojn ĉirkaŭ Gibeon kaj ekmilitis kontraŭ ĝi.
6 And the inhabitants of Gabaon sent to Joshua into the camp to Galgala, saying, Slack not your hands from your servants: come up quickly to us, and help us, and rescue us; for all the kings of the Amorites who dwell in the hill country are gathered together against us.
Tiam la loĝantoj de Gibeon sendis al Josuo en la tendaron ĉe Gilgal, por diri: Ne forprenu viajn manojn de viaj sklavoj; venu al ni rapide kaj savu nin kaj helpu nin, ĉar kolektiĝis kontraŭ ni ĉiuj reĝoj de la Amoridoj, kiuj loĝas sur la monto.
7 And Joshua went up from Galgala, he and all the people of war with him, every one mighty in strength.
Kaj Josuo eliris el Gilgal, li kaj la tuta militistaro kun li, kaj ĉiuj militotaŭguloj.
8 And the Lord said to Joshua, Fear them not, for I have delivered them into your hands; there shall not one of them be left before you.
Kaj la Eternulo diris al Josuo: Ne timu ilin; ĉar en vian manon Mi transdonis ilin; neniu el ili povos rezisti antaŭ vi.
9 And when Joshua came suddenly upon them, he [had] advanced all the night out of Galgala.
Kaj Josuo venis al ili neatendite; la tutan nokton li iris el Gilgal.
10 And the Lord struck them with terror before the children of Israel; and the Lord destroyed them with a great slaughter at Gabaon; and they pursued them by the way of the going up of Oronin, and they struck them to Azeca and to Makeda.
Kaj la Eternulo konfuzegis ilin antaŭ Izrael, kaj ĉi tiu batis ilin per granda venkobato en Gibeon, kaj persekutis ilin laŭ la vojo, kiu suprenkondukas al Bet-Ĥoron, kaj batis ilin ĝis Azeka kaj ĝis Makeda.
11 And when they fled from the face of the children of Israel at the descent of Oronin, then the Lord cast upon them hailstones from heaven to Azeca; and they were more that died by the hailstones, than those whom the children of Israel killed with the sword in the battle.
Kaj kiam ili, forkurante de la Izraelidoj, estis sur la deklivo de Bet-Ĥoron, la Eternulo ĵetadis sur ilin grandajn ŝtonojn el la ĉielo, ĝis Azeka, kaj ili mortis; pli granda estis la nombro de tiuj, kiuj mortis de la ŝtonoj de hajlo, ol la nombro de tiuj, kiujn la Izraelidoj mortigis per la glavo.
12 Then Joshua spoke to the Lord, in the day in which the Lord delivered the Amorite into the power of Israel, when he destroyed them in Gabaon, and they were destroyed from before the children of Israel: and Joshua said, Let the sun stand over against Gabaon, and the moon over against the valley of Aelon.
Tiam Josuo parolis al la Eternulo en la tago, en kiu la Eternulo transdonis la Amoridojn al la Izraelidoj; kaj li diris antaŭ la ĉeestanta Izrael: Suno, haltu super Gibeon, Kaj luno super la valo de Ajalon.
13 And the sun and the moon stood still, until God executed vengeance on their enemies; and the sun stood still in the midst of heaven; it did not proceed to set till the end of one day.
Kaj la suno haltis, kaj la luno staris tiel longe, Kiel la popolo faris venĝon al siaj malamikoj. Tio estas ja skribita en la libro de la Justulo. Kaj la suno staris meze de la ĉielo, kaj ne rapidis subiri preskaŭ dum tuta tago.
14 And there was not such a day either before or after, so that God should listen to a man, because the Lord fought on the side of Israel.
Kaj nek antaŭe nek poste estis tago simila al tiu, en kiu la Eternulo obeis la voĉon de homo; ĉar la Eternulo batalis por Izrael.
Kaj Josuo kune kun la tuta Izrael revenis en la tendaron ĉe Gilgal.
16 And these five kings fled, and hid themselves in a cave that is in Makeda.
Kaj forkuris tiuj kvin reĝoj kaj kaŝis sin en kaverno en Makeda.
17 And it was told Joshua, saying, The five kings have been found hid in the cave that is in Makeda.
Kaj oni sciigis al Josuo, dirante: Estas trovitaj la kvin reĝoj, kaŝitaj en kaverno en Makeda.
18 And Joshua said, Roll stones to the mouth of the cave, and set men to watch over them.
Tiam Josuo diris: Alrulu grandajn ŝtonojn al la aperturo de la kaverno, kaj starigu ĉe ĝi homojn, por gardi ĝin;
19 But do not you stand, but pursue after your enemies, and attack the rear of them, and do not suffer them to enter into their cities; for the Lord our God has delivered them into our hands.
sed vi ne haltu, persekutu viajn malamikojn kaj ekstermu iliajn malantaŭajn taĉmentojn; ne permesu al ili veni en iliajn urbojn; ĉar la Eternulo, via Dio, transdonis ilin en viajn manojn.
20 And it came to pass when Joshua and all Israel ceased destroying them utterly with a very great slaughter, that they that escaped took refuge in the strong cities.
Kaj kiam Josuo kaj la Izraelidoj finis bati ilin per tre granda venkobato ĝis preskaŭ plena ekstermo, kaj la restintoj el ili forkuris en la fortikigitajn urbojn,
21 And all the people returned safe to Joshua to Makeda; and no one of the children of Israel murmured with his tongue.
kaj la tuta popolo revenis al Josuo en la tendaron en Makedan sendifekta, kaj neniu movis sian langon kontraŭ la Izraelidojn,
22 And Joshua said, Open the cave, and bring out these five kings out of the cave.
tiam Josuo diris: Malfermu la aperturon de la kaverno, kaj elkonduku al mi tiujn kvin reĝojn el la kaverno.
23 And they brought out the five kings out of the cave, the king of Jerusalem, and the king of Chebron, and the king of Jerimuth, and the king of Lachis, and the king of Odollam.
Kaj oni faris tiel, kaj oni elkondukis al li tiujn kvin reĝojn el la kaverno: la reĝon de Jerusalem, la reĝon de Ĥebron, la reĝon de Jarmut, la reĝon de Laĥiŝ, la reĝon de Eglon.
24 And when they brought them out to Joshua, then Joshua called together all Israel, and the chiefs of the army that went with him, saying to them, Come forward and set your feet on their necks; and they came and set their feet on their necks.
Kaj kiam oni elkondukis tiujn reĝojn al Josuo, tiam Josuo alvokis ĉiujn Izraelidojn, kaj diris al la estroj de la militistoj, kiuj iris kun li: Alproksimiĝu, metu viajn piedojn sur la kolojn de ĉi tiuj reĝoj; kaj ili aliris, kaj metis siajn piedojn sur iliajn kolojn.
25 And Joshua said to them, Do not fear them, neither be cowardly; be courageous and strong, for thus the Lord will do to all your enemies, against whom you fight.
Kaj Josuo diris al ili: Ne timu kaj ne tremu, estu fortaj kaj kuraĝaj; ĉar tiel la Eternulo faros al ĉiuj viaj malamikoj, kontraŭ kiuj vi militas.
26 And Joshua killed them, and hanged them on five trees; and they hung upon the trees until the evening.
Kaj poste Josuo frapis ilin, kaj mortigis ilin, kaj pendigis ilin sur kvin arboj; kaj ili pendis sur la arboj ĝis la vespero.
27 And it came to pass towards the setting of the sun, Joshua commanded, and they took them down from the trees, and cast them into the cave into which they [had] fled for refuge, and rolled stones to the cave, [which remain] till this day.

28 And they took Makeda on that day, and killed the inhabitants with the edge of the sword, and they utterly destroyed every living thing that was in it; and there was none left in it that was preserved and had escaped; and they did to the king of Makeda, as they did to the king of Jericho.
Kaj Makedan Josuo prenis en tiu sama tago, kaj batis ĝin per glavo, ankaŭ ĝian reĝon; kaj li ekstermis ilin kaj ĉion vivantan, kio estis en ĝi; li lasis neniun restanton. Kaj li agis kun la reĝo de Makeda, kiel li agis kun la reĝo de Jeriĥo.
29 And Joshua and all Israel with him departed out of Makeda to Lebna, and besieged Lebna.
Kaj Josuo kune kun la tuta Izrael transiris el Makeda al Libna, kaj militis kontraŭ Libna.
30 And the Lord delivered it into the hands of Israel: and they took it, and its king, and killed the inhabitants with the edge of the sword, and every thing breathing in it; and there was not left in it any that survived and escaped; and they did to its king, as they did to the king of Jericho.
Kaj la Eternulo transdonis ankaŭ ĝin kaj ĝian reĝon en la manon de Izrael; kaj li per glavo batis ĝin kaj ĉion vivantan, kio estis en ĝi; li lasis en ĝi neniun restanton. Kaj li agis kun ĝia reĝo, kiel li agis kun la reĝo de Jeriĥo.
31 And Joshua and all Israel with him departed from Lebna to Lachis, and he encamped about it, and besieged it.
Kaj Josuo kune kun la tuta Izrael transiris el Libna al Laĥiŝ, kaj starigis tendaron ĉirkaŭ ĝi, kaj militis kontraŭ ĝi.
32 And the Lord delivered Lachis into the hands of Israel; and they took it on the second day, and they put the inhabitants to death with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed it, as they had done to Lebna.
Kaj la Eternulo transdonis Laĥiŝon en la manon de Izrael, kaj li prenis ĝin en la dua tago, kaj per glavo ekstermis ĝin kaj ĉion vivantan en ĝi, simile al ĉio, kion li faris al Libna.
33 Then Elam the king of Gazer went up to help Lachis; and Joshua struck him and his people with the edge of the sword, until there was not left to him one that was preserved and escaped.
Tiam venis Horam, reĝo de Gezer, por alporti helpon al Laĥiŝ; sed Josuo venkobatis lin kaj lian popolon tiel, ke li lasis al li neniun restanton.
34 And Joshua and all Israel with him departed from Lachis to Odollam, and he besieged it and took it.
Kaj Josuo kune kun la tuta Izrael transiris el Laĥiŝ al Eglon, kaj starigis tendaron ĉirkaŭ ĝi, kaj militis kontraŭ ĝi.
35 And the Lord delivered it into the hand of Israel; and he took it on that day, and killed the inhabitants with the edge of the sword, and killed every thing breathing in it, as they did to Lachis.
Kaj ili prenis ĝin en tiu tago, kaj ekstermis ĝin per glavo, kaj ĉion vivantan en ĝi li ekstermis en tiu tago, simile al ĉio, kion li faris al Laĥiŝ.
36 And Joshua and all Israel with him departed to Chebron, and encamped about it.
Kaj Josuo kune kun la tuta Izrael iris el Eglon al Ĥebron, kaj militis kontraŭ ĝi.
37 And he struck it with the edge of the sword, and all the living creatures that were in it; there was no one preserved: they destroyed it and all things in it, as they did to Odollam.
Kaj ili prenis ĝin, kaj per glavo ekstermis ĝin kaj ĝian reĝon kaj ĉiujn ĝiajn urbojn kaj ĉion vivantan, kio estis en ĝi; li lasis neniun restanton, simile al ĉio, kion li faris al Eglon; kaj li ekstermis ĝin, kaj ĉion, kio vivis en ĝi.
38 And Joshua and all Israel returned to Dabir; and they encamped about it;

39 and they took it, and its king, and its villages: and he struck it with the edge of the sword, and they destroyed it, and every thing breathing in it; and they did not leave in it any one that was preserved: as they did to Chebron and her king, so they did to Dabir and her king.
Kaj li prenis ĝin kaj ĝian reĝon kaj ĉiujn ĝiajn urbojn, kaj batis ilin per glavo, kaj ekstermis ĉion vivantan, kio estis en ĝi; li lasis neniun restanton; kiel li faris al Ĥebron, tiel li faris al Debir kaj al ĝia reĝo, kaj kiel li faris al Libna kaj al ĝia reĝo.
40 And Joshua struck all the land of the hill country, and Nageb and the plain country, and Asedoth, and her kings, they did not leave of them one that was saved: and they utterly destroyed every thing that had the breath of life, as the Lord God of Israel commanded,
Kaj Josuo venkobatis la tutan landon sur la monto, kaj la sudan kaj la malaltan kaj la deklivan, kaj ĉiujn iliajn reĝojn; li lasis neniun restanton, kaj li ekstermis ĉion vivantan, kiel ordonis la Eternulo, Dio de Izrael.
41 from Cades Barne to Gaza, all Gosom, as far as Gabaon.
Kaj Josuo batis ilin de Kadeŝ-Barnea ĝis Gaza, kaj la tutan landon Goŝen, ĝis Gibeon.
42 And Joshua struck, once for all, all their kings, and their land, because the Lord God of Israel fought on the side of Israel.
Kaj ĉiujn tiujn reĝojn kaj iliajn landojn Josuo prenis per unu fojo; ĉar la Eternulo, Dio de Izrael, batalis por Izrael.
Kaj Josuo kune kun la tuta Izrael revenis en la tendaron, en Gilgalon.
