Kings III 19
1 And Achaab told Jezabel his wife all that Eliu [had] done, and how he [had] slain the prophets with the sword.
Y Acab dio la nueva a Jezabel de todo lo que Elías había hecho, de como había matado a cuchillo a todos los profetas.
2 And Jezabel sent to Eliu, and said, If you are Eliu and I am Jezabel, God do so to me, and more also, if I do not make your life by this time to-morrow as the life of one of them.
Entonces envió Jezabel a Elías un mensajero, diciendo: Así me hagan los dioses, y así me añadan, si mañana a estas horas yo no haya puesto tu persona como la de uno de ellos.
3 And Eliu feared, and rose, and departed for his life: and he comes to Bersabee [to] the land of Juda, and he left his servant there.
Y él tuvo temor, y se levantó y se fue por salvar su vida, y vino a Beerseba, que es en Judá, y dejó allí su criado.
4 And he himself went a day's journey in the wilderness, and came and sat under a juniper tree; and asked concerning his life that he might die, and said, Let it be enough now, O Lord, take, I pray you, my life from me; for I am no better than my fathers.
Y él se fue por el desierto un día de camino, y vino y se sentó debajo de un enebro; y deseando morirse, dijo: Baste ya, oh SEÑOR, quita mi alma; que no soy yo mejor que mis padres.
5 And he lay down and slept there under a tree; and behold, some one touched him, and said to him, Arise and eat.
Y echándose debajo del enebro, se quedó dormido: y he aquí luego un ángel que le tocó, y le dijo: Levántate, come.
6 And Eliu looked, and, behold, at his head there was a cake of meal and a cruse of water; and he arose, and ate and drank, and returned and lay down.
Entonces él miró, y he aquí a su cabecera una torta cocida sobre las ascuas, y un vaso de agua; y comió y bebió y se volvió a dormir.
7 And the angel of the Lord returned again, and touched him, and said to him, Arise, and eat, for the journey [is] far from you.
Y volviendo el ángel del SEÑOR la segunda vez, le tocó, diciendo: Levántate, come; porque gran camino te resta.
8 And he arose, and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights to mount Choreb.
Se levantó, pues, y comió y bebió; y caminó con la fortaleza de aquella comida cuarenta días y cuarenta noches, hasta el monte de Dios, Horeb.
9 And he entered there into a cave, and rested there; and, behold, the word of the Lord [came] to him, and he said, What [do] you here, Eliu?
Y allí se metió en una cueva, donde pasó la noche. Y vino a él palabra del SEÑOR, el cual le dijo: ¿Qué haces aquí, Elías?
10 And Eliu said, I have been very jealous for the Lord Almighty, because the children of Israel have forsaken you: they have digged down your altars, and have slain your prophets with the sword; and I only am left alone, and they seek my life to take it.
Y él respondió: He sentido un vivo celo por el SEÑOR Dios de los ejércitos; porque los hijos de Israel han dejado tu alianza, han derribado tus altares, y han matado a cuchillo tus profetas; y yo solo he quedado, y me buscan para quitarme la vida.
11 And he said, You shall go forth to-morrow, and shall stand before the Lord in the mount; behold, the Lord will pass by. And, behold, a great [and] strong wind rending the mountains, and crushing the rocks before the Lord; [but] the Lord [was] not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake; [but] the Lord [was] not in the earthquake:
Y él le dijo: Sal fuera, y ponte en el monte delante del SEÑOR. Y he aquí el SEÑOR que pasaba, y un gran y poderoso viento que rompía los montes, y quebraba las peñas delante del SEÑOR; mas el SEÑOR no estaba en el viento. Y tras el viento un terremoto; mas el SEÑOR no estaba en el terremoto.
12 and after the earthquake a fire; [but] the Lord [was] not in the fire: and after the fire the voice of a gentle breeze.
Y tras el terremoto un fuego; mas el SEÑOR no estaba en el fuego. Y tras el fuego una voz apacible y delicada.
13 And it came to pass when Eliu heard, that he wrapt his face in his mantle, and went forth and stood in the cave: and, behold, a voice [came] to him and said, What [do] you here, Eliu?
La cual cuando Elías la oyó, cubrió su rostro con su manto, y salió, y se puso en pie a la puerta de la cueva. Y he aquí llegó una voz a él, diciendo: ¿Qué haces aquí, Elías?
14 And Eliu said, I have been very jealous for the Lord Almighty; for the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, and they have overthrown your altars, and have slain your prophets with the sword! and I am left entirely alone, and they seek my life to take it.
Y él respondió: He sentido un vivo celo por el SEÑOR Dios de los ejércitos; porque los hijos de Israel han dejado tu alianza, han derribado tus altares, y han matado a cuchillo tus profetas; y yo solo he quedado, y me buscan para quitarme la vida.
15 And the Lord said to him, Go, return, and you shall come into the way of the wilderness of Damascus: and you shall go and anoint Azael to be king over Syria.
Y le dijo el SEÑOR: Ve, vuélvete por tu camino, por el desierto de Damasco; y llegarás, y ungirás a Hazael por rey de Siria;
16 And Ju the son of Namessi shall you anoint to be king over Israel; and Elisaie the son of Saphat shall you anoint to be prophet in your room.
y a Jehú hijo de Nimsi, ungirás por rey sobre Israel; y a Eliseo hijo de Safat, de Abel-mehola, ungirás para que sea profeta en lugar de ti.
17 And it shall come to pass, that him that escapes from the sword of Azael, Ju shall kill; and him that escapes from the sword of Ju, Elisaie shall kill.
Y será, que el que escapare del cuchillo, de Hazael, Jehú lo matará; y el que escapare del cuchillo de Jehú, Eliseo lo matará.
18 And you shall leave in Israel seven thousand men, all the knees which had not bowed themselves to Baal, and every mouth which had not worshipped him.
Y yo haré que queden en Israel siete mil; todas las rodillas que no se encorvaron a Baal, y todas las bocas que no lo besaron.
19 And he departed thence, and finds Elisaie the son of Saphat, and he was ploughing with oxen; [there were] twelve yoke before him, and he with the twelve, and he passed by to him, and cast his mantle upon him.
Y partiéndose él de allí, halló a Eliseo hijo de Safat, que araba con doce yuntas delante de sí; y él era uno de los doce gañanes. Y pasando Elías por delante de él, echó su manto sobre él.
20 And Elisaie left the cattle, and ran after Eliu and said, I will kiss my father, and follow after you. And Eliu said, Return, for I have done [a work] for you.
Entonces dejando él los bueyes, vino corriendo en pos de Elías, y dijo: Te ruego que me dejes besar a mi padre y a mi madre, y luego te seguiré. Y él le dijo: Ve, vuelve: ¿qué te he hecho yo?
21 And he returned from following him, and took a yoke of oxen, and killed them, and boiled them with the instruments of the oxen, and gave to the people, and they ate: and he arose, and went after Eliu, and ministered to him.
Y se volvió de en pos de él, y tomó un par de bueyes, y los mató, y con el arado de los bueyes coció la carne de ellos, y la dio al pueblo que comiesen. Después se levantó, y fue tras Elías, y le servía.
