5 The sons of Japheth, Gamer, Magog, Madaim, Jovan, Helisa, Thobel, Mosoch, and Thiras.
Jafetovi sinovi: Gomer, Magóg, Madáj, Javán, Tubál, Mešeh in Tirás.
6 And the sons of Gamer, Aschanaz, and Riphath, and Thorgama.
Gomerjevi sinovi: Aškenáz, Rifát in Togarmá.
7 And the sons of Jovan, Helisa, and Tharsis, the Citians, and Rhodians.
Javánovi sinovi: Elišá, Taršíš, Kitéjec in Dodanim.
8 And the sons of Cham, Chus, and Mesraim, Phud and Chanaan.
Hamovi sinovi: Kuš, Micrájim, Put in Kánaan.
9 And the sons of Chus, Saba, and Evila, and Sabatha, and Regma, and Sebethaca: and the sons of Regma, Saba, and Dadan.
Kuševi sinovi: Sebá, Havilá, Sabtá, Ramá in Sabtehá. Ramájeva sinova: Šebá in Dedán.
10 And Chus begot Nebrod: he began to be a mighty hunter on the earth.
Kuš je zaplodil Nimróda. Ta je začel postajati mogočen na zemlji.
Micrájim je zaplodil Ludima, Anamima, Lehabima, Nafthima,
Patrusima, Kasluhima (iz katerega so izvirali Filistejci) in Kaftoréjca.
Kánaan je zaplodil svojega prvorojenca Sidóna in Heta,
tudi Jebusejca, Amoréjca, Girgašéjca,
Hivéjca, Arkéjca, Sinéjca,
Arvádejca, Cemaréjca in Hamatéjca.
17 The sons of Sem, Aelam, and Assur,
Semovi sinovi: Elám, Asúr, Arpahšád, Lud, Arám, Uc, Hul, Geter in Mešeh.
18 and Arphaxad, Sala,
Arpahšád je zaplodil Šelá in Šelá je zaplodil Eberja.
Eberju sta bila rojena dva sinova. Ime prvega je bilo Peleg, ker je bila v njegovih dneh zemlja razdeljena. Ime njegovega brata je bilo Joktán.
Joktán je zaplodil Almodáda, Šelefa, Hacarmáveta, Jeraha,
tudi Hadoráma, Uzála, Diklá,
Ebála, Abimaéla, Šebája,
Ofírja, Havilá in Jobába. Vsi ti so bili Joktánovi sinovi.

25 Eber, Pheleg, Ragan,
Eber, Peleg, Regu,
26 Seruch, Nachor, Tharrha,
Serúg, Nahór, Terah,
27 Abraam.
Abram; isti je Abraham.
28 And the sons of Abraam, Isaac, and Ismael.

29 And these [are] their generations: the firstborn of Ismael, Nabaeoth, and Kedar, Nabdeel, Massam,
To so njihovi rodovi: Izmaelov prvorojenec Nebajót, potem Kedár, Adbeél, Mibsám,
30 Masma, Iduma, Masse, Chondan, Thaeman,
Mišmá, Dumá, Masá, Hadád, Temá,
31 Jettur, Naphes, Kedma: these [are] the sons of Ismael.
Jetúr, Nafíš in Kedma. To so Izmaelovi sinovi.
32 And the sons of Chettura Abraam's concubine: —and she bore him Zembram, Jexan, Madiam, Madam, Sobac, Soe: and the sons of Jexan; Daedan, and Sabai;
Torej sinovi Abrahamove priležnice Ketúre: rodila je Zimrána, Jokšána, Medána, Midjána, Jišbáka in Šuaha. Jokšánova sinova sta: Šebá in Dedán.
33 and the sons of Madiam; Gephar, and Opher, and Enoch, and Abida, and Eldada; all these [were] the sons of Chettura.
Midjánovi sinovi: Efá, Efer, Henoh, Abidá in Eldaá. Vsi ti so Ketúrini sinovi.
34 And Abraam begot Isaac: and the sons of Isaac [were] Jacob, and Esau.
Abraham je zaplodil Izaka. Izakova sinova: Ezav in Izrael.
35 The sons of Esau, Eliphaz, and Raguel, and Jeul, and Jeglom, and Core.
Ezavovi sinovi: Elifáz, Reguél, Jeúš, Jalám in Korah.
36 The sons of Eliphaz: Thaeman, and Omar, Sophar, and Gootham, and Kenez, and Thamna, and Amalec.
Elifázovi sinovi: Temán, Omár, Cefi, Gatám, Kenáz, Timná in Amálek.
37 And the sons of Raguel, Naches, Zare, Some, and Moze.
Reguélovi sinovi: Nahat, Zerah, Šamá in Mizá.
38 The sons of Seir, Lotan, Sobal, Sebegon, Ana, Deson, Osar, and Disan.
Seírjevi sinovi: Lotán, Šobál, Cibón, Aná, Dišón, Ecer in Dišán.
39 And the sons of Lotan, Chorri, and Aeman; and the sister of Lotan [was] Thamna.
Lotánovi sinovi: Horí, Homám; in Timna je bila Lotánova sestra.
40 The sons of Sobal; Alon, Machanath, Taebel, Sophi, and Onan: and the sons of Sebegon; Aeth, and Sonan.

41 The sons of Sonan, Daeson: and the sons of Daeson; Emeron, and Asebon, and Jethram, and Charran.

42 And the sons of Hosar, Balaam, and Zucam, and Acan: the sons of Disan, Os, and Aran.
Ecerjevi sinovi: Bilhán, Zaaván in Jakan. Dišánovi sinovi: Uc in Arán.
43 And these [are] their kings, Balac the son of Beor; and the name of his city [was] Dennaba.
Torej ti so kralji, ki so kraljevali v edomski deželi, preden je katerikoli kralj kraljeval nad Izraelovi otroci: Beórjev sin Bela; in ime njegovega mesta je bilo Dinhába.
44 And Balac died, and Jobab the son of Zara of Bosorrha reigned in his stead.

45 And Jobab died, and Asom of the land of the Thaemanites reigned in his stead.

46 And Asom died, and Adad the son of Barad reigned in his stead, who struck Madiam in the plain of Moab: and the name of his city [was] Gethaim.

47 And Adad died, and Sebla of Masecca reigned in his stead.

48 And Sebla died, and Saul of Rhoboth by the river reigned in his stead.

50 And Balaennor died, and Adad son of Barad reigned in his stead; and the name of his city [was] Phogor.
Ko je bil Báal Hanán mrtev, je namesto njega zakraljeval Hadád, in ime njegovega mesta je bilo Pagú; in ime njegove žene je bilo Mehetabéla, hči Me Zahábove hčere Matréde.
51 The princes of Edom: prince Thamna, prince Golada, prince Jether,

54 prince Zaphoin. These [are] the princes of Edom.
