Psalms 87

1 A Psalm of a Song for the sons of Core. His foundations are in the holy mountains.

[Von den Söhnen Korahs, ein Psalm, ein Lied. [Eig. ein Lied-Psalm] ] Seine Gründung [d. h. das, was Jehova gegründet hat] ist auf den Bergen der Heiligkeit;

2 The Lord loves the gates of Sion, more than all the tabernacles of Jacob.

Jehova liebt die Tore Zions mehr als alle Wohnungen Jakobs.

3 Glorious things have been spoken of thee, O city of God. (Pause)

Herrliches ist von dir geredet, du Stadt Gottes. (Sela)

4 I will make mention of Raab and Babylon to them that know me: behold also the Philistines, and Tyre, and the people of the Ethiopians: these were born there.

Erwähnen will ich Rahabs [d. h. Ägyptens] und Babels bei denen, die mich kennen; siehe, Philistäa und Tyrus samt Äthiopien: dieser ist daselbst geboren.

5 A man shall say, Sion [is my] mother; and [such] a man was born in her; and the Highest himself has founded her.

Und von Zion wird gesagt werden: Der und der ist darin geboren; und der Höchste, er wird es befestigen.

6 The Lord shall recount [it] in the writing of the people, and of these princes that were born in her.

Jehova wird schreiben beim Verzeichnen [O. aufzählen beim Einschreiben] der Völker: Dieser ist daselbst geboren. (Sela)

7 The dwelling of all within thee is [as the dwelling] of those that rejoice.

Und singend und den Reigen tanzend werden sie sagen: Alle meine Quellen sind in dir!
