Psalms 59
1 For the end. Destroy not: by David for a memorial, when Saul sent, and watched his house to kill him. Deliver me from mine enemies, O God; and ransom me from those that rise up against me.
Osvobodi me pred mojimi sovražniki, oh moj Bog. Brani me pred tistimi, ki se dvigujejo zoper mene.
2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.
Osvobodi me pred delavci krivičnosti in reši me pred krvoločnimi ljudmi.
3 For, behold, they have hunted after my soul; violent men have set upon me: neither [is it] my iniquity, nor my sin, O Lord.
Kajti, glej, za mojo dušo prežijo v zasedi, mogočni so se zbrali zoper mene; ne zaradi mojega prestopka niti ne zaradi mojega greha, oh Gospod.
4 Without iniquity I ran and directed [my course aright]: awake to help me, and behold.
Brez moje krivde tečejo in se pripravljajo. Zbudi se, da mi pomagaš in glej.
5 And thou, Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, draw nigh to visit all the heathen; pity not any that work iniquity. (Pause)
Ti torej, oh Gospod Bog nad bojevniki, Izraelov Bog, zbudi se, da obiščeš vse pogane. Z nobenim zlobnim prestopnikom ne bodi usmiljen. (Sela)
6 They shall return at evening, and hunger like a dog, and go round about the city.
Vračajo se zvečer, zganjajo hrup kakor pes in krožijo po mestu.
7 Behold, they shall utter a voice with their mouth, and a sword is in their lips; for who, [say they], has heard?
Glej, s svojimi usti bruhajo, meči so na njihovih ustnicah, kajti pravijo: »Kdo sliši?«
8 But thou, Lord, wilt laugh them to scorn; thou wilt utterly set at nought all the heathen.
Toda ti, oh Gospod, se jim boš posmehoval, vse pogane boš imel v posmeh.
9 will keep my strength, [looking] to thee; for thou, O God, art my helper.
Zaradi njegove moči bom čakal nate, kajti Bog je moja obramba.
10 [As for] my God, his mercy shall go before me: my God will shew me [vengeance] on mine enemies.
Bog mojega usmiljenja me bo vodil. Bog mi bo dal videti mojo željo na mojih sovražnikih.
11 Slay them not, lest they forget thy law; scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord, my defender.
Ne ubij jih, da ne bi moje ljudstvo pozabilo. Razkropi jih s svojo močjo in zlomi jih, oh Gospod, naš ščit.
12 [For] the sin of their mouth, [and] the word of their lips, let them be even taken in their pride.
Zaradi greha njihovih ust in besed njihovih ustnic naj bodo celó prijeti v svojem ponosu in za preklinjanje in laži, katere govorijo.
13 And for [their] cursing and falsehood shall utter destruction be denounced: [they shall fall] by the wrath of utter destruction, and shall not be; so shall they know that the God of Jacob is Lord of the ends of the earth. (Pause)
Použij jih v besu, použij jih, da jih ne bo in naj spoznajo, da Bog vlada v Jakobu do koncev zemlje. (Sela)
14 They shall return at evening, and be hungry as a dog, and go round about the city.
Zvečer naj se vrnejo in naj zganjajo hrup kakor pes ter krožijo po mestu.
15 They shall be scattered hither and thither for meat; and if they be not satisfied, they shall even murmur.
Naj se potikajo gor in dol za hrano in godrnjajo, če ne bodo nasičeni.
16 But I will sing to thy strength, and in the morning will I exult [in] thy mercy; for thou hast been my supporter, and my refuge in the day of mine affliction.
Toda jaz bom prepeval o tvoji moči, da, zjutraj bom na glas prepeval o tvojem usmiljenju, kajti ti si bil moja obramba in zatočišče na dan moje stiske.
17 [Thou art] my helper; to thee, my God, will I sing; thou art my supporter, O my God, [and] my mercy.
Tebi, oh moja moč, bom prepeval, kajti Bog je moja obramba in Bog mojega usmiljenja.
