Psalms 51
1 For the end, a Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came to him, when he had gone to Bersabee. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy great mercy; and according to the multitude of thy compassions blot out my transgression.
Auf den Siegesspender, ein Lied, von David, als der Prophet Nathan zu ihm kam, nachdem er zu Bathseba gegangen. Erbarm Dich meiner, Gott, nach Deiner Huld! Nach Deiner großen Güte tilge meine Missetaten!
2 Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
Wasch meine Schuld mir gründlich ab, und reinige von meiner Sünde mich!
3 For I am conscious of mine iniquity; and my sin is continually before me.
Denn ich erkenne meine Missetaten, und meine Sünde schwebet stets vor mir.
4 Against thee only have I sinned, and done evil before thee: that thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
An Dir allein hab ich gesündigt, was bös in Deinen Augen ist, getan, daß Du gerecht dastehst bei Deinem Richterspruche und tadellos mit Deinem Richten.
5 For, behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and in sins did my mother conceive me.
Geboren bin ich in der Sünde; in Schuld hat meine Mutter mich empfangen. -
6 For, behold, thou lovest truth: thou hast manifested to me the secret and hidden things of thy wisdom.
Du liebst die Wahrheit in unverhüllterweise und unterrichtest mich in Weisheit auf verborgne Art.
7 Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be purified: thou shalt wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow.
Wasch mich mit Ysop rein von Sünden! Wasch mich, auf daß ich weißer sei als Schnee!
8 Thou shalt cause me to hear gladness and joy: the afflicted bones shall rejoice.
Vernehmen laß mich Freud' und Wonne! Laß die von Dir zerschlagenen Gebeine jubeln!
9 Turn away thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Verbirg Dein Angesicht vor meinen Sünden, und tilge alle meine Missetaten!
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit in my inward parts.
Erschaff mir, Gott, ein reines Herz, und in mir einen rechten Geist erzeuge!
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and remove not thy holy Spirit from me.
Verstoß mich nimmermehr von Deinem Angesicht, und Deinen heiligen Geist entziehe mir nicht wieder! -
12 Restore to me the joy of thy salvation: establish me with thy directing Spirit.
Gib wieder mir die Wonne Deines Heils! Erquicke mich mit frohgemutem Geist!
13 [Then] will I teach transgressors thy ways; and ungodly men shall turn to thee.
Die Irrenden belehre ich dann über Deine Wege, und Sünder kehren sich zu Dir. -
14 Deliver me from blood-guiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation: [and] my tongue shall joyfully declare thy righteousness.
Gott, ohne Blutopfer, errette mich, Du meines Heiles Gott. Alsdann wird meine Zunge jubelnd Deine Liebe preisen.
15 O Lord, thou shalt open my lips; and my mouth shall declare thy praise.
Herr, öffne Du mir meine Lippen! Dann wird mein Mund Dein Lob verkünden.
16 For if thou desiredst sacrifice, I would have given [it]: thou wilt not take pleasure in whole-burnt-offerings.
Denn Du verlangst nicht Blutopfer, noch andre Gaben. Nicht willst Du Brandopfer.
17 Sacrifice to God is a broken spirit: a broken and humbled heart God will not despise.
Mein Opfer, Gott, ist ein zerbrochener Geist, ein ganz gebrochen und zerknirschtes Herz, o Gott, verschmähst Du nie.
18 Do good, O Lord, to Sion in thy good pleasure; and let the walls of Jerusalem be built.
In Deiner Gnade fördere Sion! Erbau die Mauern von Jerusalem!
19 Then shalt thou be pleased with a sacrifice of righteousness, offering, and whole-burnt-sacrifices: then shall they offer calves upon thine altar.
Dann findest Du an echten Opfern Freudesowie an Brand und ganzen Opfern. Auf Deinen Altar kommen dann Gebete.
